In response to this thread: https://willard.network/forums/threads/checkcrime.12044/#post-94382

Due to low CP activity, rebel mains resort to suggestions on lowering rule technicalities, which otherwise prevent them from role-play.

I do not believe lowering the CP criterion necessarily solves the issue longterm, as it will inevitably lead to excessive balance towards crime when the setting requires Combine being present, patrolling the streets and keeping the status quo in line.

Lowering the CP limit for crimecheck is a reactive measure to the current OOC inactivity which unfortunately spills to IC if the issue becomes too common.

Should we currently interpret that the CPs have essentially gone on a strike or quit their jobs?

I suggest that as of now, due to frequent requests from rebels on CPs to flag up, there should be a push for recruitments about now by the faction leads to turn around the inactivity and unclog the current flow of role-play for rebels.

If this is not possible, I alternatively urge the narrators to frame this into a plausible IC situation.

As we stand is 55 players, yet /checkcrime not meeting the quotas.

😔

cop apps are open

From what I've witnessed, they will not close apps and recruit just because a wave of inactivity hits. Just buckle up and lock in bro.

It's really strange to see a server with this large of a playerbase struggle with CP activity.

I'd just say wait for this application process to finish up. If that doesn't help I think a long term solution would be to make the roster bigger and allow more people to play as units. As it stands a handful of people on LOA are simply burnt out, don't want to roleplay as a unit during this arc, or are busy. But I'm no CP lead so I don't know if that is the best fix, long term that is.

If cps strike the command is gonna do a counter-strike (get it)

They are open, yet we don't see new players filling the empty roles that currently need to be filled. This is an issue with driving in new players to the faction.

By a wave of recruitments, i propose on measures which drive in more applications. With faction leads succeeding to attract new players at best, while at worst lowering requirements.
All these cp commands don't know how to recruit, all they know is "can we get this over with already", demotes and PKs :blanky:

The reason these slots aren't filled yet is because applications are only viewed and replied to once applications close. This allows us to pick from a larger pool of applications to ensure the faction has quality roleplayers. This is especially needed when limited slots are open within the faction.

I will admit, perhaps closing them sooner rather than later would be a good idea. I mean nothing is stopping you guys from opening them again later. I think the sooner we do start processing applications the sooner we can mitigate this glaring issue that is sort of plaguing the server at the moment rather than taking the wrong approach and changing the crime check.

I am fine with, as I believe others would too, having CPs who can't put a comma in the right place, in exchange for filled server requirements, compared to lowering the checkcrime bar or having the roleplay decay.

The CP faction recently issued a recruitment wave as per this suggestion, after temporarily having the checkcrime criterion lowered to 4 since last week - now back to 6 (source). As such, both appropriate measures have been conducted which in theory should make this suggestion resolved.
