The Vending Machine Regulation Act was submitted, passed, and implemented two years ago, as the vending machines within the sphere of City Twenty-four were not regulated and the regulation itself was difficult to obtain. Some of the issues included the sale of luxury items, strange and exotic meats, etc. As a result of such actions, the economy and storefronts were greatly affected and required intervention before they could get worse.

During the present day, the machines still follow the regulations set forth in the Vending Machine Regulation Act however, further amendments need to be made to the Regulation Act so that the machines are only used when needed, and to encourage people to purchase from shops.

This new legislation will set up an updated guideline and properly list what can and can't be done with vending machines, including some excerpts from the original Vending Machine Regulation Act.

Clause One: Content Rules

  • In the past, vending machines were selling items that were ill-befitting of what a vending machine should be selling. The following items, either permits or singular items, are prohibited from being sold within the vending machine:

Clause 1.1: Singular or permit items that are authorized to be sold.
    Alcoholic Permit
    Non-alcoholic Permit
    Request Devices

    Cigarettes
    Plastic Lighters
  •
  • Clause 1.2: Singular or permit items that are prohibited from being sold:

  • Audiobooks
    Clothing
  • Components
  • Electronics (Except Request Devices)
  • Food
  • Ingredients
  • Luxury
  • Printing
  • Tools & Storage
  • Writing
  • Medical Items (Including Drugs)
  • Meats (Exotic or Strange)
  • and anything else that isn't listed on Clause 1.1

Clause Two: Spacing Rules

(Taken from the Vending Machine Regulation Act)

Clause 2.1: To combat the overuse of vending machines, and the inability to look left or right without seeing one, vending machines must be at least ten (10) meters apart from each other to ensure the city’s fine aesthetic does not get tarnished by vending machines everywhere.
  •
  •

Clause Three: Types of Vending Machines

  • Clause 3.1: Currently, vending machines are allowed to sell a variety of products, including drinks, and request devices from a singular machine. This brings up the issue of how clean the machines are, as there are varying products contained within. As such, there will be two types of vending machines offered to potential vendors.

Clause 3.2: Drinks Vending Machine: This machine will only be allowed to sell Drinks with an alcoholic or non-Alcoholic Permit

Clause 3.3: Cigarette Vending Machine: This machine will only be allowed to sell Cigarettes, Lighters and Request Devices

Clause Four: Enforcement

(Taken from the Vending Machine Regulation Act)

Clause 4.1: If misconduct is to be noticed and enforced by the Civil Workers’ Union, the organization will ensure that vending machines that breach the trust given to them will receive a warning. If action is not taken by the purchaser of the machine, it will be removed. The fines for retrieving your machine can be found on the Civil Workers Union Public Price Page

Clause Five: Pricing

(Taken from the Vending Machine Regulation Act)

Clause 5.1: Vending machine owners have the luxury of selecting their own prices, however, this has led to the case where, for example; water is being sold at 3 credits, the price you purchase it from the permit system. This drives other people out of business and is simply unfair. However, selling for too much is also unfair, citizens must be able to afford their drinks and other items.

As a result, any items that are sold in either vending machine that are noted in Clause 3.2 or 3.3 must be sold for 5 Credits more then the base permit price of said item in question

Clause 5.2:
The Civil Workers Union has noted many inactive vending machines throughout City Twenty Four and Industrial Twenty Four. As a result, a service fee has to be implemented to prevent the uptick in inactive vending machines, along with servicing if such machines break down during the course of their use.

The service fee is located on the Civil Workers Union Public Price Page. The service fee is subject to change with or without notice to the respective parties

Clause 5.2: Currently, vending machines are priced at two hundred credits. This has been established since the inception of such machines being brought into City Twenty Four. Given the current demands of such machines throughout the city, along with Industrial Twenty Four. The purchase price is subject to change at the discretion of the Civil Workers Union. The Price is located within the Civil Workers Union Public Price Page

Implementation

If this act is passed, it will be immediately implemented within City Twenty Four's varying districts and to Industrial Twenty Four's Zones. In addition to its immediate enforcement, the old Vending Machine Regulation Act will be nullified, and The New Vending Machine Regulation Act will take its place.

Godamn Liberals trying to regulate our vending machines and put chemicals in the water to turn the frikkin VORTS GAY!!!!

why can't a vending machine dispense paper

Okay, that makes sense. But why not food? There are crisp/chip packets sold that should realistically go into a vending machine, as well as other long-life products like peanuts.
anti-competitive; the issue with vending machines is that they render stores obsolete unintentionally through several factors in a city where time and resources are finite, meaning they could buy and sell an entire item's bulk for minuscule profit without any effort while depriving a store of that same supply.

As if the BMDs selling stuff for a fraction of the price isn't doing the same lmao.
Flour for 0.6 credits anyone?
To be fair I don't think most people have access to BMDs

But I would love to be to see paper and pins able to be sold on vending machines

BMD's and whatever aside. Vending machines basically became shops to a point that you could literally just run a vending machine with no roleplay involved besides pressing a button and have a whole ass meal dispensed to you.

Even before I took over as FL, I had a machine that basically made copious amounts of money and negated the need for anyone to go to a store and interact.

Fast forward to now, and I decided to nerf vending machines as FL's as it detracts from businesses' selling things and being the rp hubs that they are supposed to be. I changed it to only dispense logical things such as drinks, request devices (back to the CW days), lighters, and cigarettes.
You can make loads of money with those things in mind.

I made this bill so it could add to the political roleplay of the various binders and as a courtesy to others. If I wanted to, I could just impose the rules of it as is, and everyone needs to follow them, no exceptions.

You want to buy paper and pins? Head to a shop. Want to buy flour? Go to a shop. It sounds simple enough.

In all fairness all stores are inactive except the clothing / utilities shops but thats a more moc issue than cwu vending machine issue
