This shit is tiresome.
You have the Legislative Assembly bomb, the constant RDC bombings, and now at 3am some admin rebel blows up the clinic. All this does is cripple rebelrp and loyalistrp for the sake of admins who don't want to create a legit rebel character wanting edgy terrorist events. Do I need to say anymore?

Post 🦀 in replies to petition shitty admin rebels. Blessed be.

And yes this is serious, and no I will not "write a better complaint"
no textwall is needed, any with a moral compass knows that admin rebels are cringe and cringepilled

Rebels lost their 'admin' when Booile left.

frankly the whole situation with admins being more Combine focussed or rebel focussed is fucking stupid, they are meant to be an impartial entity, not a sided one.

and if the goal of said admin is to drop a bomb on some CCA building or such to kill some loyalists, to then trigger a sweep to get a bunch of slummers killed, they shouldn't be hosting events and nor would I really trust their capabilities as an admin.

My take on this is that maybe admin rebel characters should try to pull support to a goal that they want normal player rebels to support or go behind so that the players are the ones doing these events.

Sure a bombing in the RDC is neat from a visual and story standpoint regarding the underlying cause (That being District Thirteen's demolition) but I also feel like an admin with a rebel character trying to convince players to take up arms or begin a special operation for the memory of District Thirteen might be as effective if not more so. Plus the admin is now giving the players the means and goal to act out this objective of getting revenge for Thirteen, rather than just killing a bunch of loyalists in a bombing an admin sets up to make the loyalists and Combine mad at an invisible threat in a sense.

Maybe I'm just rambling and I might not make much sense so pardon me if that's the case, but it's just my take on the matter

I agree with the constant bombing. Don't worry. I have told them multiple times that there are countless other events you can do instead of blowing stuff up. I will assure you that I shall, once again, notify them that bombing events are too annoying. Every once in a while? Sure! It could be fun. But not at the rate it happens now (or is starting to again).

i liked it when Booile set a goal for the slummers to achieve....it was never achieved but it was something to work towards.

or
or
forbid it altogether since evidently slaps on the wrist aren't working lol

Please I do want some good rebel RP like idk maybe we get to do something good for once? Maybe clear the sewers of zombies? or maybe even protect the slum from zombies and have the combine close the slum? kinda like the fog

admin rebels cripple rebel rp because rebels are supposed to gather the sympathy of civilians, which is not assisted by admin rebels blowing up the clinic and ration dispenser

Bombing events have been banned as of now until this can be discussed by the CM's.

As an aside:
Please start using some common sense with bombs when they inevitably return.

These buildings are constructed of brick and solid concrete. They are not some wooden factory produced home in a US suburb. You would need some powerful explosives to do half as much damage as admins often portray these bombs as doing. Its not fair for admins to play 'realism' with repair times while also having 1 pound of C4 destroy entire buildings.

Let's build a scrap wall in the slums to keep the combine out.

Admin rebels should only exist to enable actual players to do interesting events

also, why are all these random people so upset about losing district 13? Was it really that great there that they are willing to suicide bomb places over it?

well-placed Semtex will do the job.

but unless you have access to a Vietnam-era stockpile, or happen to be a really competent chemist or have a book written by one with a whole bunch of pre-cursor chemicals and components, the best you could make would be medium-grade plastic explosives, and that is if you don't kill yourself first.

the best bomb (if it's possible) would be to somehow overload a Dark energy generator, its explosion radius wouldn't be that big but it would vaporise everything in its immediate vicinity and wouldn't leave anything in the way of forensics.

but yea, you want realistic bomb's? i want to see some proper chemistry to produce them.

I believe that is the exact same thing as C4. Semtex = plastic explosive.

Not sure if this was an attempted shot at me, but this is not at all what I meant, if so.
I just said that putting one case of the script 'explosive materials' which is only enough to make 1 grenade or so ICly, into a bomb does not magically cause it to be a 100lb piece of ordinance. Have making bombs take time and effort so rebels will do something else for a change.

Nobody likes bomb events anymore. They last for three days after someone sets off a firecracker and then stop mattering.

mostly, Semtex is slightly more powerful, it typically has a much higher PETN content, but they are both in the 'plastic explosive' group. Semtex is also the commercial name, and C-4 is slightly broad as you can have different types.

Also no, it wasn't a shot at you, it was a general distaste for bomb events and that under an oppressive and watchful regime such as the combine, it is very very unlikely that people would get their hands on advanced explosives.

whether they can or can't get their hands on explosives is irrelevant -- bombing things all day has an evident effect on the core player group (citizens) and doesn't actually offer them any way to sympathize with the resistance

all in all, attacks like this just serve to alienate the "revolutionaries" from citizens. who the hell wants to join forces with the guy that just blew up your one core means of accessing daily foodstuffs? sure, they can preach "but they're oppressive" all you'd see is fighting a fight where you most definitely will die for a chance at freedom. if i had the choice between risking my life, well-being, and sanity for freedom, or continuing the rigmarole of getting at least a meal that stops me from starving to death -- on top of staying in favor with the powers-that-be -- i'd pick the latter option

furthermore, bombings are among the lowest effort forms of 'generating things to happen': rob a store, hijack vending machines or perform minor vandalism, do a 'bleeding heart' type operation and try getting sympathy for the cause by actually being sympathetic, instead.

i've seen people do very creative things as resistance members, such as hiding countless flyers in oildrums and using those to covertly bring them to high-up positions to disperse them across the city -- all the flyers were filled with anti-Combine rhetoric, calls to action, and even compromised identities iirc

THAT makes for interesting actions, consequences, and events, imo. shooty-shooty-blowy-uppy gets stale after the first time.
