A post made in post-emotion. Or, a survey on what the vortigaunt faction can do to be more productive.

I don't buy the impression that vorts are oppressed
Especially considering that they do the equivalent of cutting off their tongue and an arm to become a collaborator.
Conversely, most free vorts don't come across as particularly free either. Some of these guys have spent a genuinely inconceivable amount of time in bondage, and then someone takes off the literal chains that have been around their legs for over a decade? At least go for a jog!

This is more of a factional problem than individual shortcomings, I think. There needs yo br morr for vorts to DO so the transition from broom slave to space wizard feels meaningful. Still, there is a noticeable lack of interest from some players to portray this transition in the first place.

I'm working on a post about current shop changes and if anyone (shopkeeps + others) have noticed anything, but to your point.

I have a mostly positive view of Vorts. Most are chill OOC, and IC, but, I think that's because my main char is a Rebel, and Vorts aren't as bad towards those. With exceptions of course, but still.

I haven't seen "bad" Vort RP yet, in comparison to seeing bad citizen RP, or bad Rebel RP, so can't speak on that part yet.

As someone who played a free Vort extensively on another server and just recently started playing a Biotic for the first time on this one -

While I do definitely see why people want being a biotic to be more oppressive, and in some ways I would agree, there’s the issue of fun.

I love being a biotic currently, and while there are some ways that biotics could be “oppressed” more, I don’t want my time as a biotic to be liberated-vort-waiting-room-RP. If being a biotic isn’t enjoyable in its own right, that’s what it’ll turn into.

I don’t have any great suggestions off the top of my head myself, but I think there needs to be a middle ground between “violently oppressed background character with no opportunities to engage with citizens” and “bluesuit with funky bracelets.”

As for my own personal experience, I haven’t had too much of an issue, I think a lot of the CPs especially have done a good job of treating mine like an underclass citizen without stifling my fun.
