idk then just apply for a Tier 6 if you genuinely think getting CCA status is easier.
I’m telling you that it should be application status for the Council.

Make an application on the forums lol. I don’t wanna stop people from applying due to them not grinding for 3 months.

The only political discussion I've seen coming from the futurists, were you walking into the room and immediately shooting yourselves in the foot.

Also the way I see this, is just another version of going to what NEB went for.

futurism more like pastism

I have a thesis.
We prioritize blind dystopia over fun RP.
Political RP (as we have seen with the Futurist stuff) can serve as a catalyst for some cool stuff.
Also look at the SCs above.

The CCA is boring. It's an admin faction.
I propose an alternative that will hopefully help Loyalist RP.

A Senate.

THE IDEA
A Senate is created to govern and make laws for the City. It is compromised up of 15-30 players.
The City Administrator is at the Head of the Entire City.

Inside the Senate there are a few positions.
The Prime Minister, who leads the government.
Ministers who each run a department.
And Senators who make up a voting block.

ELECTIONS
The Prime Minister is elected by the public every few months.
He appoints the Ministers.

The Senators are permeant characters in the CCA.
You can apply OOCly, there is no SC requirement.

2 Senators are elected by the public each month.
They serve as Public Representatives.

THE PARTIES
Any group of 3 senators can start a political party.
Any party is allowed as long as it doesn't call for the downfall of the government.
Communist, Liberal, Futurist, Transhumanist, Humanist, Unionist, whatever.

Citizens can join too. Parties can make their own militias to protect their Senators.

VOTING
Any group of three senators can write legislation.
They propose it to the Senate to be voted on.
The senate votes on it. It becomes a law if it passes.

It'd likely be private forum based voting (and occasional in-game meetings)

Laws can't be about defense. Think housing, loyalism, food, safety, regulations, etc.
The City Admin can veto anything.

THE GOVERNMENT
When the Prime Minister gets elected, he chooses his Ministers.
He can dismiss them at any time.

There'd likely be a Minister of Health, Justice, Loyalty, Defense, Commerce, and Internal Affairs.
Maybe more. Maybe less.

They'd be made up of Senators.

COOL IDEAS AND STUFF
The fact that the P.M is elected by the population can make a split in the Senate.
The Senate may be 100% on the side of Candidate X. Candidate Y might be elected by popular support though.

Militias would be legally recognized. Go crazy. Go beat up your opposing political opponents.

Public Representatives (the elected Senators) could get some cool powers.
They could suspend (halt the voting period) on a bill if they get 20 signatures.
Another 40 on a petition that they can kill a bill.

Opposition Governments can form in the Senate.
The loser (or any loser) can declare themselves Shadow Prime Minister and work against the government.

Coalition Governments could also form.
Players teaming up together. Makes drama.

LOYALISM
Hopefully this would fix the Loyalist SC grind.
Go suck up to some Senator. He'll give you points.
Work for the government (snitch out your neighbor)
Join a militia.

HOW AND WHY?
Don't think of blind dystopia. Instead think of the R.P that can be had.
Player Initiative will always be cool.
One player will scheme over another.
The G.N.C will bone the Futurists for power.

To start?
Find a player, interim prime minister. I'd be glad to do it. Start the system up.
Contact me, or don't.

See you on Page 11 of this debate.

Listen mate. I remember back on Neb they're being more CCA members that actual citizen's on the scoreboard when I got on every other day as a result of your vision of rp.

The political party system did not work, nobody knew what the CCA member's did not even themselves.

It made a circle jerk system for a few people rather then providing meaningful rp for the player base.

And honestly man, hl2rp is dystopia rp. If you don't want to play hl2rp then don't play it.

Don't just change the setting to suit your personal Rp.

Dunno in what planet it worked and it was tons of fun but I learned the exact opposite from the people experiencing it. Just throwing the base fundamentals out the window because you're bored is quite selfish of you my kind sir.
just spawn cp NPC's in singeplayer and get killed by them if you want dystopia RP jesus fuck
Or you play something else. Lol

I don’t know who or where you are coming from, but I can assure you it’s been a blast and not for just those in the faction.

I’d rather have a cool RP then 2 event characters.

Also just because there’s a legislative body doesn’t mean the Dystopia is gone haha

In your opinion are there any other frameworks that could work for the CCA which would provide cool RP?

Bro there’s 2 self-described event characters running the CCA

It was alot more fun to see fun political militias beating the shit out of people and vandalizing stores for wrong think and massive political campaigns that rally up the sides, all union supporting of course

If it’s not your cup of tea then it’s not your cup of tea

There aren’t that many RP servers around anymore on ole garry’s mod. I’ve seen systems like this work on stuff like GTA and it was thrown around for the more passive/citizen based WW3 RP.

You’d have to give specifics though.

It would be undeniably and unfathomably cringe to only let T6 civs apply for Senator. I don't want to be devil's advocate but have you seen some T6 characters lmao, some are just self inserts designed to earn as many SC as humanly possible by gagging on a copmain's boot.

@Merlinsclaw I agree.

WAR WAR WAR

By the time you are tier 3 absolutely no one cares about social credits.

Seems to be another "circle jerk" group that will provide really nothing of value except segregation from other citizens. Instead, why don't you join the CWU or CMU, two factions that benefit citizens and provide good roleplay. Politics does not belong here and is only being entertained by the staff for events. Unfortunately, these events happen and then give credit to the idea of politics. The events should be used to benefit the citizens/rebels who are suffering from their own un-doing.

What people so often get wrong, especially during the Clockwork era, is that passive RP is the key RP to make the server run. How wrong can people be. Passive RP is great in small doses, but when your entire server runs around passive RP it starts to die. Why do you think SS are so popular? They have action, an actual story and objective to complete, and you can create new RP opportunities that otherwise wouldn't have existed. More people are on the discord and forums than the actual game, and that should say something to you. No matter the time of the year(school). The staff really need to work on retaining the player base. I think they know what they have to do.

I'm meh for this group. In my opinion, political RP is boring as fuck. But if some people can manage to find enjoyment from it then that's fair.

I am in favor of anything that boosts activity in the CCA in general, tbh.

The only CCA I have seen online was Cadence, and she's not technically CCA in the real sense; she's CWU lead. Which really stalls out the loyalism roleplay and/or drive to do much loyalism wise outside of farming SC for T3.

I understand this is most likely due to IRL obligations but it means that the server is really dry on the loyalism side, and don't get me started on the rebel side; thats an entirely different problem altogether.

Citizens don't have much to strive for right now ingame, roleplay wise, since the critical factions that facilitate that are pretty... inactive.

just don't let it become a circle jerk
current CA is a circle jerk of like 4 admins

let the RP flow, let anyone who wants to be in do their thing, encourage them to go outside and interact with the population

afterall u aren't gonna get elected if u don't campaign with the citizen population

Really curious as to what these "Militia's" Would be in actual practice. Like Brown shirts or are we talking Yugoslavia type shit? And why would the Combine even allow regular citizens to just raise arms and drill in paramilitary/military gear. It doesn't really make sense to me From what I've read it seems like you'd might Aswell just have the arteria arm become a full fledged faction of like Loyalist Reservists to be deployed into Sewers/Slums ect. And then have a certain Politician express interest in them, Win them over and use them to coup. I don't see the average T-1-T-2 Being allowed to physically bear arms and train, It just seems so bizarre considering we have CP's literally grab people off the street and beat them. Wouldn't these Militants potentially using this training to fight against Civil Protection be seen as an Issue? It just seems so bizarre that in a literal 1984 type civilization that we'd see the regular loyalist be "Allowed" to enlist into or even form a Militia when helmets are so tightly controlled hell even kitchen knives raise a few eye-brows from Civil Protection.
