During the Early Occupational Era City Thirteen, formerly known as Paris, began one of the most large scale conscription operations on Sol. III. This massive effort came with logistical and command issues however. The tremendous number of divisions and battalions being formed overwhelmed the fledgling occupational bureaucracy. As a result, the Administrator of Paris, Raymond Arceneaux, ordered the foundation of a military academy for conscripts and the M.A.A.
This military academy, situated in Eastern France, contained rambunctious French youth with fresh memories of the Seven Hour War. As their training progressed and the academy grew larger to handle the increasing number of military conscripts in France, so did the tension in the Academy. Eventually the number of cadets outnumbered the staff at the Academy. A dissident faction formed in the M.M.A Academy that quickly picked up steam amongst the unruly recruits.
This faction, Action Directe, eventually gathered enough support to 'rebel' within The Academy. On a Summer night, a small group of recruits snuck into the training armory and began handing out firearms. Within the hour, the Academy was overran and most of the Combine staff were dead or captured. The members of A.D, which compromised nearly all of the Academy by this point, quickly fled with what provisions and supplies they could gather. They fled South, towards the Swiss Alps, where they established a small military commune.
Action Directe's commune, established within the Swiss Alps, quickly organized and grew over the next few years under the leadership of its two leaders, Antoine Daniau and Louis Bouchard, who were close friends at the M.M.A Academy. As the Commune grew under the Combine's nose and more refugees and soldiers came in, A.D soon became a highly militarized organization. They began ambushing convoys from both City Thirteen and City Twenty-Four and attacking patrols with an astounding efficiency.
However, throughout the years Action Directe largely stayed docile. Gradually their forces grew in number and began more militarized and trained. Military action against the Combine was rare but often highly fruitful. However, they often times, they attempted to stay out of harms way and out of the Combine's view. That was until 2018.
In 2018, as Sector Ten became increasingly destabilized, Action Directe began mobilizing. With City Thirty-Two in chaos and a rift forming between City Thirteen and Twenty-Four, A.D saw an opportunity to strike at the heart of Sector Ten. Operations slowly began to ramp up and took a major step forward as City Twenty-Four's population was largely shipped to the Industrial District of City Seventeen.
Action Directe is a highly militarized organization within City Twenty-Four, City Thirteen, and across France and Switzerland. It draws its roots back to City Thirteen and the initial conscription effort undertaken during the early occupation by the City. A.D seeks to train and organize the insurgents of City Twenty-Four with the primary goal of pushing forward the destabilization of the regime in the area, and eventually, the overthrow of the City Twenty-Four government. The organization itself is ran by two leaders, Antoine Daniau and Louis Bouchard, from a Commune in France somewhere in the Alpine Region. However, they assign 'Commanders' to oversee operations in a specific area. Geneva is one of these areas with a specific commander.
(Left to Right: Recruit, Soldier, Commanding Officer, Commander of the A.D Cell)
The Infantry Force of Action Directe is the primary force of the cell. Most of the members will more than likely be in The Infantry Force and may even be split into further, smaller, sections within it with specific roles for each section. They are meant to be highly militarized and trained.
THE MEDICAL CORPS
(Left to Right: Medical Recruit, Doctor, Senior Doctor, Captain of the Medical Corps)
The Medical Corps of Action Directe is a small force of surgeons, doctors, and field medics that tag along with the Infantry Force or may have a set area up. While small in numbers, they make a large difference in operations, expeditions, and battle.
THE ENGINEERING CORPS
(Left to Right: Engineering Recruit, Engineer, Senior Engineer, Captain of the Engineer Corps)
The Engineering Corps of Action Directe is a moderate force of engineers. They may undertake a series of projects such as reconstruction of destroyed areas, building of fortifications, construction, and crafting.
OOC Information:
This group was originally intended to be the rebel whitelist group.
Nothing will likely be done with it but I wanted to post it.
Credit to Rogue Synapse for helping with alot of the work throughout the process in June.
It's kinda tragic that this kind of grounded resistance org with a localized character would be passed over in favor of the soulless, unrealistic super rebel faction that can somehow run a base and keep a war fleet in the middle of the Arctic and have operations all the way out in Geneva, Switzerland
