Hello losers!
It has been a long time. I've been with this community for over two years, back before it was even called Willard Networks. The times have been fun, and I would never say it was time wasted. Truly, I appreciated my time here.
But times are a-Changin'. I've found over the months that my interest in HL2RP, as in, actually roleplaying a character in-game, has gradually waned. I feared that I would not enjoy my time with it once an amazing setting came out, and unfortunately, those fears were confirmed. I don't hate or even dislike HL2RP. I still think it's fun, but there are more fun things for me to do in my spare time. Of course, that's also a changing aspect of my life. I've began to considerably cut my time with video games, and while I still have time for video games and more, I don't have enough time to justify developing a single character over a long period of time.
This is why I applied for staff, or more specifically, a more "Roleplay" oriented staff position. If I ever got on the server, I didn't want to play a character. I wanted to play a neutral force that would create a narrative via contributing to the roleplay of other characters. Essentially an aid to the roleplay itself rather than a faction or by being an individual. With that application denied, there is no position, player or staff, that I'd want to partake in on the server. There is no bad blood with its denial, and I understand why I was denied, even if I don't agree with it.
Aside from that, you may have noticed the contradiction between me saying I enjoyed my time here, yet not enjoying the roleplay enough to stick around. The reason I found that I was around so much was the community. The Discord is pretty fun to hang around, and the members are awesome. My time with the community was amazing. My time in-game is okay, but that isn't enough to stick around for in face of other things in my life.
I'll still be around in the Discord. I'll still be open to play a game if anyone asks. I'll still partake in chat roleplays (they aren't as attention intensive as HL2RP). I will likely not be playing on the server anymore, save for maybe once in a blue moon where I just hop on for a few minutes to see how it is. I will not be making suggestions, seriously discussing or helping with issues, or participating in anything related to in-game anymore past random shitposting or comments about in-game things and HL2RP in general on the Discord.
Just know that it's not because of a perceived "bad quality" or any sort of drama. There's just larger things in life for me at the moment (none of which is negative).
Vortigaunt Lead Resignation
This obviously means I won't be the Vortigaunt lead anymore. I don't have the time for this anymore. I've let the other Vort leads know of my parting wishes, as well as having left my opinion/review of all the current Vort apps for them. I will be resigning from the Vortigaunt faction in full.
