I'm usually not one to bother making posts like this, but I feel that this change needs to be implemented quickly, or else risk inflation of the market with the introduction of the new scrap guns.

THE PROBLEM:
Scrap guns are currently too easy to craft. They cost minimal materials, have a low skill requirement, and the ammunition is the only real limiting factor when it comes to anti-citizens with a bone to pick.

THE COUNTER-ARGUMENT:
"But TRL, the guns aren't good! Their armor penetration SUCKS! It's supposed to be cheap, that's why they're bad."
This is a response I've seen a few times in regards to what I feel is a problem, and I thought about this and realized that this entire argument here centers around a Rebel - CivPro interaction, where both sides will have at least some armor to defend themselves with. But I think this ignores the group that'll be most affected by this: Non-rebel anticitizens and citizens.

This group of people are going to be suffering the most from the abundance of scrap weapons. Even the basic crafts like a Tikhar or Helsing caused these problems, though to a much lesser extent due to their low rate of fire. Spraying a scrap-SMG down in a building full of unarmored people is extremely easy to do, and requires little effort to actually do so.

THE SOLUTION:
My solution is simple. Re-integrate the use of light and heavy weapons parts into the crafting of guns that would logically require them. Scrap Assault Rifles, Scrap DMRs, SMGs, you get the idea: These should all require a bit more grind to get. Tikhar and Helsings I believe should be unchanged: If not for history's sake, then to offer that beginning foray into scrap weapons without necessarily running the risk of someone being able to easily mow down civilians with 2 screws, a wood board, and a scrap of fabric.

All fun and games with low costs until 1 PT is bumrushed by 13 rebels with Scrap P90s

I’d like to assume that rebels randomly attacking citizens isn’t as big of an issue as this seems to make it out to be, excluding crossfire, which tends to be…disturbingly high.

people deathmatching random citizens with weapons on the street are going to be warned and banned, you need justifications to do insane shit like that, so this isn't a problem in the way it's made out to be. If your main concern is that the shooting sprees will cause low socio-stability... Ok. That's not a bad thing inherently.

El Tikharo and the Helsingerio have been piss easy/cheap to craft for about 1 year now. Yet we have never seen the fucking bluesuit bumrush with those weapons.
This isn't the issue you make it out to be. Sure, it is possible for some rebel with cash saved up to arm about 10 people. No doubt about it. But they've never done so in the past, why would they start now? You're free to do it. Be the first to start a generalized uprising with 50 armed insurgents storming the city with scrap guns.

Rebels helping people out? Lol.

The grind has been reduced overtime to help out Solo Rebels and this is asking to the Grind to effectively be reverted back to a time where Junk weapons were worth like 2,000 to 3,000 chips and everything else was almost 2-3 times the cost they are today.

While a Crafting Rework is in progress with price adjustments along with some changes to items overall I don't think recipes for junk weapons need to be changed too much as ngl, no one is crafting 20-30 junk weapons to cause problems for the City. Haven't in the past despite how cheap they may seem and thats probably because of the disparity between some rebels.

Sure some rebels can pump out 100 junk weapons, but others can barely produce 1 as a regular joe not no life'ing the server. As grind was made for those playing the server maybe 2-6 hours max a week

Unsure what the stance on this currently is.

I am aware of fixes but also aware of a weapon system being developed so we're moving away from these kinds of guns likely.

Denied...?
