“Growing up": In his youth, although being born in Florida he'd move to Georgia at the age of 2, Living in Georgia a traumatic experience that would change his life with his mother dying to a failed terrorist plot. After his mother would die his Father would fall into a slight depression with Andrew having to take care of him and his sister although his father would remarry later on. After his father remarried he'd struggle to bond with his new mother and siblings, after a year or so he'd be comfortable with his new family picking up the nickname AJ from his step-mother. In high school, he'd do mediocrely in school but meet a good couple of friends who'd pressure him into joining the Army with them. With some slight PTSD from his mother's death, he'd join with his buddies and they'd all try for Airborne School.

“Early 20s": After getting into the Army and passing boot-camp they'd all become 11-Bravos and join Airborne School. While in Airborne School one of AJ's good buddies called Tony would get into a critical incident while training which would Honorable Discharge him from the Army. AJ and the rest of his friends would continue with Airborne school, all of them would pass being assigned to the 82nd Airborne. In September of 1999, AJ and his buddies would be deployed to the Albanian/Kosovo border to aid in "Operation Allied Force". While in the former Yugoslav Republic another of his buddies would become critically injured and die later that day in the field. Now with AJ and two of his other friends, they'd all consider retiring from the Army and starting some small-time shop till a world-changing event happened.

"The Incident/Invasion": As the Portal Storms at the Black Mesa started to form they'd all agree to stay in the Airborne and fight their alien invaders. As America began to fall they'd be reassigned to work as security for the few remaining states left in the Union. As the Seven Hour War came and went AJ would desert the military to save his skin after seeing his two remaining friends be torn apart by the Combine invaders. Once he deserted he'd rob a house of clothes to wear and try to blend into the civilian population.

"Post Combine Invasion": Soon past the 7 Hour War AJ would be relocated to city 1 as an outpost to be relocated to city 38. Living in the city as a regular citizen would be hard for him, his worsening PTSD from losing all his buddies and his fear for what happened to his family would take it would hold with him as he assaulted an innocent bystander in a fit of rage and depression. Serving a two-year sentence for Aggravated Assault he'd be relocated once again to city Twenty Two. During his time in city Twenty Two, he'd find some other ex-Army and ex-USMC troops from his head being able to talk with them and give each other their experience.
