Given the use of magazines as an item, I think it would be cool to have a dedicated item that can only store mags. It would function like the cigarette box item, only being able to store cigarettes - or in this case magazines - within.
Naturally, like the suitcase, you could only have one in your inventory.
It could be tiered, with the lowest level ammo pouch being able to store only four magazines, with better versions being able to store more.
The balance team can determine out how to balance it, I'm only putting the idea out there.
