ARCENEAUX'S FALL
"The legend of City Thirteen is gone. what remains when the pillar crumbles?"
After years of rule, the formation of his own political ideology, and the domination of an entire sector, Administrator Arceneaux, the powerful figurehead of City Thirteen, has fallen.

He arrived in City Twenty-Four under the banner of diplomacy, invited to a political summit aimed at renewing ties and strengthening cooperation between the two cities. The gathering was marked by a rare moment of unity, with high-ranking officials from both cities in attendance, discussing policy initiatives and mutual collaboration.

Arceneaux appeared in high spirits throughout the visit, even expressing enthusiastic interest during a tour of the local Civil Workers’ warehouse. However, as the day drew to a close and the entourage made its way to the train station, insurgents launched a coordinated assassination attempt. A molotov was hurled at the Administrator, followed by gunfire, leaving him critically wounded.

Security forces responded swiftly and neutralized the attackers, but the damage was done. The previous Vice Administrator René Chevalier, who had accompanied Arceneaux - driven by a nostalgic longing for City Twenty-Four was killed instantly on the street.

In the immediate aftermath, upon learning the fate of their leader, Arceneaux’s personal secretary and assistant took their own lives within the Nexus, unable to face the collapse of the regime they served.

Arceneaux had long been the central pillar of City Thirteen’s power, holding together not just the city itself, but its extended territories, including the client state of City Two. With his death now confirmed, the entire region stands on the brink of fragmentation.

The future of the Republican Guard is uncertain, their loyalty now adrift without a figurehead. The survival of Hyper-Republicanism, Arceneaux’s radical ideology, is now in question. Will City Two seize the moment to break free? Will City Thirteen descend into power struggles and collapse?

Back in City Twenty-Four, the Regency finds itself shaken. The assassination has delivered a severe blow to both legitimacy and morale. As stability continues to hang by a thread, the Regency is expected to move quickly, seeking consolidation of power and a firm response to reassert control over a city and a region teetering on the edge.
