Topic/subject: Arrested, Interrogated and Charged despite not doing the crime
Whom it may concern: Fatter77
Summary: Basically Helix-4 and Fatter77 went into my pub and told me, I am being detained and didn't told me what I am being accused off. So I closed down the pub and followed them and then they started to interrogate me about some things, that doesn't even affiliated to my charges or accusations. Then they want to find out things about the box, why there is a hole behind the box. When you go through there and upstairs there is a Map, Radio and Transmitter which seemed spawned by Staff and those two Units just went in their way to get me charged. So it started with my words being twisted and accused of lying, which I cannot do, because I never entered in there or placed said props. It was the work of Staff. Well forward to say, there was no evidence and they wanted Information that doesn't basically exist and faked an amputation and still I didn't said anything, because i don't know anything. Well then they just beaten the shit out of me and released me and I could come back to my Terminal seeing. I got charged with "V105" and 3 SC deducted. Which annoys me.
So not only, was there no clear evidence of me other than Staff setting props that wasn't in my pub. And there was no real charge that should lead to my arrest in the first place with the V105 Charge added, because i couldn't give them any Information.

I just want that Violation removed and the SC added, because the grind for the SC is annoying and CPs coming constantly in my pub for that box, which I am not even fault off

Deducting 3 SC is somewhat not okay considering that’s the maximum amount you can deduct from a civilian, and they should’ve only done that if you actually committed a crime rather than doing it to show what happens when you mess with civil protection.
The person in question got charged with 105, an Orange Tier violation. 3SC is the lowest they could've been deducted. The highest is 10SC.

nvm im probably confused with the max they could give
Yeah, it's alright, I'm just saying that the units deducted the lowest possible amount of SC they could've for this type of violation. I think it would've been a lot more uncalled for if it was anywhere near the max.

Anyhow, I don't really have anything to add that hasn't been said. Although I do have to say that getting a non-amputation violation on your citizen shouldn't be completely swept under the rug just because muh dystopia.

Mistakes happen, and don't forget that three orange violations in a week leads to your character getting PK'd (Now sent to prison). These things might be perceived as an entirely IC issue, but it's important to maintain respect for fellow players and not just prosecute people for no reason, or at least attempt to make sure that the cause of their prosecution is true. (I'm not saying either is the case here, just a general observation)

Edit: Wrote a bit more on my general opinion of the topic.

The amount of people just going “Erm, this is an IC issue, why even bring it up?” shows the lack of discussion willing to be made with lack of consideration for the players. The only thing people think of is the lore until it’s their fun being trampled on. Until then though “that’s just how it is, that’s the lore, that’s the universe” are the excuses people cling on to to alleviate themselves of guilt for ruining other people’s fun for what amounts to no reason.
bro, he got searched in a 1984 server if it was ACTUALLY unfair e.g. CPs metagamed or it was an admin doing shit during the RP thats something to complain about.

Well, you have the choice as either Staff to say no, this is not valid or go and walk as Haruto Ito to Heartwick and start complaining and considering your CCA, you have easy game. Unlike to me, which I am a Tier-2
I have privileges because I'm at the top, friends of presidents get pardoned too, real life isn't fair. So why should a dystopian roleplaying game be any more fair?

bro this is a game, I want to have fun and don't want a CP main or CCA Person stuck up their arse to ruin my fun because their real life authority equals zero and needs somewhat power which they can masturbate to.

This is very much an IC issue, if a cop charged you with something (doesn't matter if you did or not) it's IC and posting on the forums will not get your violations removed or SC added.
I disagree. There's a thin line between what constitutes simply being a dickish CP and actual power abuse which encroaches upon and jeopardizes the sanctity and worthfulness of characters. This kinda mindset is rather counter-productive, as it discourages people from voicing actual grievances against the faction and is responsible for evoking a sense of ridicule against those who do complain.

Willard's priority is not in the setting. It's in the experience; a worthwhile and enjoyable experience nonetheless. If you have complaints about a unit's conduct and believe they're being overall detrimental roleplay and a poor roleplayer which exacerbates their behaviour (not just because they're a mean CP), take it up with the faction-leads.

Typically those who are willing to abuse power are the poorer of the bunch in quality. I don't see this complaint coming to fruition, since it isn't really that big of a deal, and it seems reflective of something greater than just a unit's power tripping, but for future reference, don't be afraid to call out a unit if you feel that (a. their abusive actions are reflective of their poor roleplay/understanding of the faction, and/or (b. their malice towards you is oocly-motivated. For stuff like this, you typically work on a case-by-case basis.

Otherwise, best to deal with it IC and bemoan on discord like the rest of us who get's SC deducted for simply walking the streets.

(edit)
Something I want to state real quickly. I've seen a good share of dickish and 'abusive CPs', but rarely have cases like these warranted complaining OOCly over besides the occasional groaning I do. Most people will always hear about how abuse is rampant among CPs primarily from other people, and so form preconceptions on the faction based on just that knowledge. Those who do abuse typically aren't tolerated in the faction, as in almost every case, they're either poor roleplayers and/or have questionable conduct that would've had them removed from the faction in the first place. While I disdain how encombrant and powerful CPs can be with little consequences to themselves, ultimately unless they're directly endangering your character through their negligent abuse or you're writing up a PK appeal because of their excessive over reaction to something menial, it isn't an issue to take that much offence over.
