Ban birds from interfering with roleplay

Birds are supposed to be observers but they keep interfering with roleplay which is extremely annoying, immersion-breaking, and does not contribute anything to the roleplay.

I am suggesting a simple fix to this:
* Forbid birds from ever interfering with roleplay in any way, they can only be observers.
* Prevent birds from using the LOOC, IC chat, and /me's as well.

Preventing chat usage might require a developer but it's not necessary if admins can swiftly de-whitelist birds that interfere with roleplay if this suggestion is accepted.

Please god. I'm sick of having birds appear in front of me when I'm actually interacting with someone and the bird tries its best to ruin it.

Also, whichever person is playing a robot pigeon that hoots like an owl needs to be blacklisted.

you might as well just delete the faction then, I agree that birds shouldn't be allowed to talk IC, but LOOC and /me's is something else

way to get it denied
"we dont want to water down donator features" or whatever

Birds being observers is good enough for the faction to stay, I am sure some people will like spying on people roleplay especially the CCA and CP factions.

Bird whitelist is a donator bonus. It probably will not/never be removed.

Although I have to agree, I have also witnessed a lot of disruptive behaviour from the bird faction which also annoys me to an extent. Mostly unrealistic shit that does not make sense at all. Birds picking up things that are many times heavier than them and even that robot bird.

The best thing to do would be to just report it I assume. Unless the staff really think it is necessary to somehow remove the possibility of doing /me or whatever. Which I also think is dumb and not really something that will be done because birds can still perform actions. It just happens to mostly be minge-y or immersion-breaking actions.

Hey that robot bird is actually a unique RP aspect thats added more to my experience than any actual bird, give that one a pass.

We really going to casually ignore that humans can walk around with a full oven in their pocket and never acknowledge it IC?

Birds with their two inventory slots are really out there, hm.

Birds can use backpacks and shit to expand their inventory space.

Also, that is not what I was talking about. I was saying that the things birds do IC, make really no fucking sense and are truly, impossible.

I dunno. I also see a lot of birds doing random and annoying things without seemingly any cause. As for Robot bird, I've tried to RP it as a character of sorts. Done the odd harassment of Civil Protection and stealthily observed them, once or twice annoyed CMU, started to become an informant for a certain group while printing out audio logs and propaganda slips. Came very close to being killed a few times with only the grace of a good /roll sparing me. If any staff want to finalize the rules and crack down on my fun they are more than welcome to.

But focusing on one of the birds trying to play a character instead of the one's who are shitting eggs is a bit odd overall. But hater's going to hate.

I mean if something adds to roleplay it should be fine. Flying into a warehouse and messing up workshifts doesn't really add to much.

I personally had very disruptive and immersion breaking experiences with every bird I've encountered. In most cases they do not roleplay and in the few cases they do roleplay, their actions often defy reality and the laws of physics, along with proper animal behavior.

Like somebody already said, there have been birds that try to hypnotize people, robotic birds, birds that OPEN DOORS to get inside the nexus and other restricted buildings, birds that sit on everyone's head and constantly engage in, literally, shit roleplay. The list goes on...

The worst encounters have been while playing on my scanner. My scanner is constantly, and I mean it, being bumped and shoved around by birds like dolphins following a ship. At one point I had been shoved against the ground and couldn't lift myself up so I had to call admins.

They overall offer nothing to the server if not some initial giggles and then a lot of frustration and just general disdain.
I encourage all bird roleplayers to create an actual character and be worthy of that server slot they are occupying.

Could just warn the players individually if they're being disruptive.

As many people have said thus far, I really see no point in the Bird faction and have personally had no rp with any bird, just those that sit on people's head and say random shit like "/me picks up (Insert moronic item here)and flies away".
As much as I love that one crow that kept flying at knee hight and making people walk into them I am looking forward to seeing rules being put in place.

(Top favoruite moment with a bird was watching two CPs shoot one because it kept annoying them)

I had like two bird roleplayers that I really really liked. The faction does not need removing or adjustment - the players do. If a bird is disrupting roleplay, report it to staff.

It may be a donator reward but I am sure it can still be taken from people that abuse it to no end.

The openness of the bird faction makes it intolerable to deal with. I have seen birds deliver literal giant computer towers to their rebel buddies, and had birds interact with roleplay in horrifically cringe ways. There can be some cool interactions with birds, but they are just completely oversaturated with zero quality control.

It's not as bad as the headcrab faction which has members who constantly try to PK people with poor roleplay, it's more just irritating
