Suggestion bird faction revamp

hello its be, the bird faction roleplayer
in short, I think this coming from ME (the guy who notoriously played bird faction for half a year straight) would be the best.



bird faction is not really
the best


rules need to be re-written to be more precise and strict
/mount needs to be fixed (as it hasn't for 2 years)
i would LIKE to see the ability to let birds become "domesticated" or "trained", the thought of birds carrying letters and becoming pets isn't a brain blasting thought, or rocket science to train

for some reason staff ive interacted with ABOUT bird faction have been against players wanting to do something more than shit on people and left click to caw (although fun)


one MAJOR thing ive heard is "it'll become too pay to win", which, in itself it won't
players pay the money to play bird faction, of which itself, was a spectator faction that branched off from Event Team, letting event team users have a physical body to spectate instead of noclipping
players PAY that rank in willard to play a sub-faction that is under ET, not to pay to get into a faction compared to MetroCops.

even then, i can go on and on about how you can literally INVITE other players to bird faction that don't have any donation ranking, albeit, on a temporary flag.




i just think bird faction, as a whole, should be revamped, and since @Aspect™ is back and HE is the one who made it, it should most likely be his overall view of how bird faction was when he made it, and compare it to the changes now



TLDR: CHANGE BIRD FACTION !!! it’s cool to have but lowkirk genuinely sucks

The bird 'faction' is the lowest of the low. Even lower than conscripts and headcrabs. Roleplay net negative

counter suggestion, implement new plugin to automatically perm ban players trying to create bird characters. Much more effective than a server whitelist or quality control team
 
Alternatively, you should just play a real character.
Birds are even beneath "characters" such as OTA. They rank just above smuggler NPC's in terms of RP value.
Beyond maybe basic fixes to what is already there, there are tons more imperative things for development to go towards.

Birds, realistically, are just something you play for a brief scenic addition. nothing long term, let alone developed. The only time birds ever get developed to any level, is because real characters elevate them. but this is rare and often forced/poorly done.

As an addendum, Personally, i'm not against people logging onto a bird period. But, you gotta understand just how tertiary they are as an entity.

Bird faction does not need to be fixed it needs be removed entirely. It is a wholly unserious aspect that nobody who actually paid for donator bought to use, bar this one guy who has been repeatedly moderated for his use of it.

There are zero excuses for this stuff in a serious rp enviroment. It's continued support is a mark of shame. Please remove it.

I mean, that’s unfair.

I’ve definitely had more IC conversations about the NPC smuggler than player controlled birds.

there's no point to having a "faction" whose sole purpose is being a general nuisance. if v3 is supposed to be a new slate clean of v2's issues, then arguably the first priority should be to tackle shit roleplay -- both metaphorically and literal shit rp in this case -- and birds are only part of this problem. they're never portrayed well and are undeniably the worst addition to a server that consistently had conscripts

tl;dr you're not entitled to doing "/me shits on you" rp and minge because you paid 10 bucks
 
We lose nothing by removing the Bird Faction.

Nobody ever buys donator for the bird faction anyway, rebels do it for the free containers, others do it because easy access to propping for their room, or no limit on /looc. I understand why the bird faction was originally created, as a form of allowing the playerbase to spectate for an x amount of money, but more times than not will birds only be used to disrupt Roleplay.

The amount of times I've been in a serious roleplay situation, and a bird has decided to spam their 'shitting' button on me 20 times trying to hit me, I'd be rich if I got money for it every time it happened. Not to mention there's been countless of times where people have been issued a punishment because they abused the faction in various ways. I remember people being warned/banned for giving trash to people, searching trash bags on birds, becoming besties with the Conscripts and giving them loot.
 
They're good as a donor perk to trick mindless, gullible children into forking over their parents' credit card to Atle to help fund the server.

We keep them only for that and that alone.
 
The only purpose I see for the bird faction is letting people who die in events spectate the rest of it, but it'd arguably just be better to give them temporary observer mode tbh
 
make it so birds can't understand anything in /say and anything in quotations to deter people from rping hyper intelligent birds

Can't understand any language
Cannot chat (because birds can't talk you fucking moron)
Can only type out /me's or some other commands
Can't read anything contained within quotation marks that is presented within a /me
Only able to pick up one item or none at all
