'BLACK GOLD - THE LAST FRONTIER' - FEEDBACK THREAD

What did you enjoy most about the event today?: Comms being last left, Comms supremacy!
What did you enjoy least about the event today?: The fact that all events are literally at EST times, yet it was advertised as BST AND EST. Its not fair we get fuckall bst times, but est get everything, yet you advertised different.

What do you want to see more of?: More events suited for timezones
What do you want to see less of?: Guns. Its fucking alaska, what the hell?

Is the direction of the event by player agency from both citizens and Vortigaunts exactly what you had in mind?: I dont even know, because i wasn't even there due to shitty time.

Is the portrayal of the Synthetic Awakening as fearful / terrorising as you expect?: Yes, because its a shitty pk for a 1 second murder.

Do you believe the event is too bloodthirsty, or too forgiving, or just perfect in PK balance?: I dunno, cos im not even dead, but everyone is legit fucking dying to, guess what? Guns, not fucking cold, food or water.

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today?: Yes.

How would you rate the event in its entirety? 3/10

What did you enjoy most about the event today? It's very hectic, you don't know what to expect but that is part of the fun. Some things can be ridiculous, I didn't expect for the communications camp to end up on their third overseer in the span of 2-3 days.
What did you enjoy least about the event today?
The staff call times, but that comes with so many people wanting staff. Another point is when there is people just stealing food, and that ruins the experience for everyone especially when they take it from locked areas
What do you want to see more of?
More mysterious shit that is supposed to be unexplainable.
What do you want to see less of?
If I get pked from rolling a 1 out of 100 when crossing that bridge to get to communications camp, I will hang myself

Is this an accurate representation of the Frontier in Alaska?
I wouldn't know, honestly.
Does the portrayal of the Combine being ill-involved prove beneficial to the event?
Kind of, but it does not make sense sometimes. The combine managed to take over the entire globe and subjegate it in seven hours, but they can't send reliable supplies to Alaska?

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you?
Yes
Was the starting time / play time within your reach?
Yes

How would you rate the event in its entirety?
I don't want to rate it until it is finished

What did you enjoy most about the event today? The sequence of the tribe awakening the factory was, tense, terrifying and amazing, I expected a LOT of things... THAT... WASNT ONE OF THEM.
What did you enjoy least about the event today? For this day I got no complaints.

What do you want to see more of?
I leave that to CT's they have not dissapointed once until now

What do you want to see less of?
Nothing to say here

Is the direction of the event by player agency from both citizens and Vortigaunts exactly what you had in mind?
Yep, the tribe got to change the situation EXTENSIVELY and the best part is we didn'truin the event by doing it.

Is the portrayal of the Synthetic Awakening as fearful / terrorising as you expect?
YES

Do you believe the event is too bloodthirsty, or too forgiving, or just perfect in PK balance?

As one of the vorts I don't think I have the general perception of how brutal or forgiving the event is... The tribe is in general MUCH safer than humans due to their major advantages and skills when they band together, Vortal healing and an endless supply of ammo contribute to that heavily, so I think it's best I don't offer an opinion here.

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today?
Very much so, they're slow but it's to be expected there's like 60 people on, and im more than patient enough c:

How would you rate the event in its entirety? For today? SOLID 10/10

THE BUNKER WAS OPENED, WEAVER WAS NEARLY LOST... THE PAWN'S WERE DEALT THEIR DEATH BLOW.

THE BLIZZARD SET IN, THE SYNTHETICS HAVE WITHDREW.

WHERE THEY ARE, IS
PURELY UNCERTAIN.

THE OPERATION MAY STILL CONTINUE, BUT THE BARON IS HESITANT.

THE FRONTIER HAS MANY CHOICES TO MAKE.

TIME IS SHORT... THE ENTITY LURKS.

How would you rate the event in its entirety?

What did you enjoy most about the event today?
The feelings, the immersion, being a badass against the guard. Playing Chaa'Tii made me feel like I had an important role in how today turned out,
very fun indeed.

What did you enjoy least about the event today?
Nothing honestly, the day was immaculate.

What do you want to see more of?

More badass music with badass event sections. The tension and storytelling is immaculate.

What do you want to see less of?

Again nothing, today played out immaculately, especially the forced retreat with the manhacks. Chefs kiss.

Were you surprised at the Overwatch arrival, and the way the player interactions set up the future of the event?

I think leaving Weaver's fate up to the players was such a good move from a creative standpoint. It gave a real sense of actually playing a role. Should one person have not been there the entire day may have been different. One slip up leading to a completely different event really makes everyone matter. And yes, seeing a load of OTA made me shit myself.

Did you like the part with the Bunker? (be honest, I watched that LOOC chat):

I personally enjoyed the combat, however my only gripe is that one room was in S2RP whilst the rest were S2K leading to them clashing, making things slightly awkward but it was resolved quickly.

Do you prefer the event to end tomorrow, or keep it moving a few more days?:

Honestly, I think it should end tomorrow. I love the event, it is a pure 10/10 but with your mention of the writers in charge of the later days behind missing I fear that improvising a few days could lead to a not so good end of a beautiful thing. I think end it on a high note, an amazing day of evacuation, some final tense moments, maybe a final chance to get someone dead for sad vibes and then map change to C24 and let the transfers rp PTSD.

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today

The staff are ridiculously helpful all things considered, I'm shocked the event runs as well as it does whilst they also answer tickets. Wow.

How would you rate the event in its entirety?
10/10 - The storywriting, the sense of importance among Chaa's character and many others, the actual OOC fear, the celebrations. It's perfect.

What did you enjoy most about the event today?
The Combat was fun, certainly

What did you enjoy least about the event today?
Hm, not sure to be honest - The Manhacks were likely the only issue, they were extremely problematic to hit with a Vort-Beam, though this was likely a hitbox problem

What do you want to see more of?

RP-Based Interactions
What do you want to see less of?

Can't think of anything off the top of my head

Were you surprised at the Overwatch arrival, and the way the player interactions set up the future of the event?:

When I indeed heard about it, I was considerably surprised

Did you like the part with the Bunker? (be honest, I watched that LOOC chat):
Yeah, I did
Do you prefer the event to end tomorrow, or keep it moving a few more days?:

Keep it moving a few more days, there are still a few more issues to solve - Plus, I'm absolutely loving being a free vort

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today?
Extremely Helpful
How would you rate the event in its entirety? 10/10 so far - The Genuine OOC-Fear from the Synths have been dope so far

What did you enjoy most about the event today? Everything. For me this is the climax, everything has been leading up to this point. And it did not disappoint, so often do events end anti-climatically, but this did not, not at all! Just everything was great about the event today, even including the fact that Weaver got to decide what happened (deffo not biased here, lol). And once more, there was a great part where everyone was asked to storm the bunker together, involving every single player which is always awesome.

What did you enjoy least about the event today? The fact that the memories will be wiped is kinda meh, at least I oocly think so. It makes sense of course, but it kind of feels like a short story now with extra risk to the ones that went with C24 characters. How (if at all) will people be rewarded if memories are wiped? There will also not be great passive rp or effects on C24 because of it.

What do you want to see more of? There is nothing I would change about how you are handling this event. It has been a blast for me so far, and I hope it has been the same for most others! Even if one is not in a position of importance to the narrative one is swept with the flow and each and every person can freely pick a side and work against / for the direction the event is taking. Very unique and fun, this is something really special!
What do you want to see less of? N/A

Were you surprised at the Overwatch arrival, and the way the player interactions set up the future of the event?:
I was rather surprised and the promptly tried to piece together why they were here. Being too cocky and smart-assy I thought "Ah! They're who helps us take down the bunker tomorrow." Whoops, nope, they are here to take the entire thing in a completely different direction. When the Baron said "Ah, Overwatch is here. what a surprise." I knew I fucked up icly and oocly.
Did you like the part with the Bunker? (be honest, I watched that LOOC chat): I was fine with it. The stand-off with the OTA unit was frightening and interesting at the same time... Alex gambled high and perhaps even found out something about the directive. Or Admins just decided to be generous again, oh well.
Do you prefer the event to end tomorrow, or keep it moving a few more days?: I would like it to end sooner than later, the climax has been reached. There remains the interesting crossroads of how the camp will proceed, seeing as there are two roads now: "Take the Baron to the bunker" "Evacuate". But it should also need naturally, not forced. So if it ends naturally tomorrow or sunday I'd prefer that.

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today? Incredibly helpful. There were times where I had to make a decision where I really didn't know what I was supposed to do / what was expected of me, but I feel like that was intentional. A beyond amazing job!
How would you rate the event in its entirety? 10 / 10

Good event.
Liked the synths probably were my favorite part amazingly portrayed by the staff team <3
Was hoping we'd of seen a civil war but I don't mind the current state of events with all the conflict
and pk's we've seen almost all were impactful and felt real.
usually was always *Something* to do.
I feel like the Bandits/Oil Reavers could've been a bit more of a threat maybe have numerous little groups of bandits take pot shots with pipe guns and area unique gear perhaps?

8/10

What did you enjoy most about the event today?
I loved the interactions between the players and the Synths. It felt so fucking badass, especially with the Guard. My character very narrowly escaped the bunker when the Guard rose up, I was actually scared. And the bit with the Crab Synth was amazing. My favorite part was coordinating with everyone to not only kill the Guard, but sink him under the ice.

What did you enjoy least about the event today?
I really can't say I didn't enjoy a single bit of the event today. It was all amazing, I have no issues with it. The only issue I did have was the people constantly script-hoaring, but y'all can't really fix that.

What do you want to see more of?

I want to see more big, looming threats. Like the Yeti or the other Synthoids.

What do you want to see less of?

Can't say there was really much I had an issue with.

Were you surprised at the Overwatch arrival, and the way the player interactions set up the future of the event?:

I was certainly surprised. I was told there'd be no real Combine intervention and then boom, we've got OTA. And the roleplay that ensued after was awesome. Can't wait to see what it all set up.

Did you like the part with the Bunker? (be honest, I watched that LOOC chat):

Initially, no. It felt like we had no option but to let them go into the bunker. After a bit, when the doors opened, it was enjoyable since we entered combat and whatnot.

Do you prefer the event to end tomorrow, or keep it moving a few more days?:

I would end it tomorrow, otherwise, it'll start getting stagnant and what not. At least that's what it's feeling for me.

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today?

They've been nothing but helpful.

How would you rate the event in its entirety?

Can't help but feel the event is quickly escalating into something that no group of citizen characters should be able to deal with. Camp politics and bandits make for excellent roleplay, but when we start assaulting a Combine stronghold head on and defeating super synths with mosin nagants and makeshift rifles I start having trouble keeping myself in the mindset of my character, who is an absolute layman. And that's not even mentioning we apparently still have to deal with an advisor resting somewhere in the bunker.

I did not participate in this day sadly... I was at college having classes, but just READING THE SHIT THAT WENT DOWN... God damn I missed the climax it seems ;c

I agree with this in the fact that a group of humans facing the synths should be forced into retreat and evacuation as they were crucial in the combine winning the seven hour war itself, a group of humans with makeshift weapons shouldn't really win....HOWEVER!

They have vortal aid from elders and adults alike in most situations which is why the event has made sense up until now, I know personally that Chaa'Tii lead the charge today which is why the big baddie and the combine fell so easily. But I do feel that without an evacuation and a return to C24 tonight the enemies thrown at us may become unrealistic if we were expected to do anything but hide as they would only grow in power.

What did you enjoy most about the event today?
I really enjoyed the combat and the fear that was given to us when the bandits decided to enter the bunker by themselves and ended up turning into OTA.

What did you enjoy least about the event today?
Crashing a lot, it seems something is causing a lot of people to crash, today I had a lot of bad luck and ende dip crashing 3 times in a row wich made me loose the boss fight agssint the guardian of the bunker.

What do you want to see more of?
More thriller and scares, put the adrenaline and fear into the players body.
As well as more zombies and antlions around for people to hunt like animals for food and etc.
What do you want to see less of?
Nothing to say here.

Were you surprised at the Overwatch arrival, and the way the player interactions set up the future of the event?:
Very much so, when ij saw the new Ota I was very surprised, even my charather had never seen these type of soldiers wich left her confused.

Did you like the part with the Bunker? (be honest, I watched that LOOC chat):
I liked the bunker part having to fight agssint the Ota was fun but I still think that staff should let players know when combat mode changes, from s2k to s2rp. This happened in city 8 as well were no one was told it changed to s2rp and me and another player ended up s2king a CPT cp, and ruined his experience as he then was forced to timescale despite being right there.
Best way to do this would be /event //those within combat s2rp is on.
Let everyone see who is inside the combat in the bunker.

Do you prefer the event to end tomorrow, or keep it moving a few more days?:
I really disliked one of the choices, mind wiping. It kinda feels like the entire event is voided and it jsut throws away so much potential for story telling, ptsd, medical help.
My charather has seen hell, the first person she ever killed was in thiss event and the woman was younger than her wich left a mark on her.
She then was followed with seeing people be torn apart by antlions, decapitated by the guardian and even padre dying infront of her instantly, she even saw a man blow his brains off right infront of her with her own gun. It would contribute a lot to rp to go back with all the horrors Tha thappenednin there

Have the staff team and event runners been helpful to you / not helpful to you today?
Yeah very much so!

I'll keep my feedback condensed. Since the story's apotheosis was essentially reached yesterday upon the opening of the bunker, I would be fully content with the event ending today, as it would make the most sense for the survivors to evacuate.

The choice of how they evacuate should still be left up to the players, not necessarily forcing everyone to side with the baron with the risk of getting mind-wiped. Perhaps those who decide to go off on their own could get their own small expedition for instance. This has been a very fruitful event overall and has fueled me with even more excitement than ever for the cross-server plugin to be implemented. Thank you to the staff and CT for your work.

Thank you for playing, you're all very magnificent.

Keeping it simple:

THE BENEFACTOR WAS RELEASED.

THE BUNKER WAS STUDYING OUR SOLAR SYSTEM, AND WAS THE CAUSE OF THE SOCIAL EXPERIMENTS.

THE AEONIC ENGINE STILL LIVES ON... IN DORMANCY, UNTIL WOKEN AGAIN.

THE BARON WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

AND NEITHER WILL YOU.

THANK YOU FOR PLAYING.
