Earth, now in its 14th year of Occupation, slowly decays. Humanity's numbers slowly dwindle as the Combine continue a policy of genocide and oppression.
Yet with most of Earth under the iron fist of the Combine Empire one place still remains untamed and wild.
A land of untouched wilderness where blizzards and portal storms wreck havoc, unknown beasts lurk in the darkness, and where the Combine's grasp is weak.
Alaska - The Final Frontier.
Yet, Alaska is in danger. A growing Xenian Malignance Zone threatens not only City Forty-Two, Anchorage, but also all of the Far North.
While Alaska's harsh winter conditions have slowed the advance of the Zone, Anchorage also undertook a firebombing campaign as hundreds of thousands of gallons of oil and napalm were dropped on the encroaching X.M.Z.
Yet things are getting desperate. As the X.M.Z grows, expanding its border with Alaska, the need for more oil arises.
An expedition is being sent to the Northern oilfields in Alaska.
Hundreds of workers will set off in a weeks long journey with Houndeye Sled dogs, Xenian work creatures, and the few vehicles that can make it that far North.
For those who survive the journey the fate of Alaska, and Anchorage, will be in their hands.
Darkness falls.

OOC Information:
This will be a 1-2 week long megaevent set in the Alaskan wilderness.
We will be using the main server during this time. The old database will be saved and we'll be using a new one.
This event will be primarily citizen based. Civil Protection is out of operational range, conscripts are not available, and the Overwatch don't consider the region to be of priority importance to them. Vortigaunts on special requirements / occasions will be present during this event.
Every role will be filled by a citizen in this event as much as possible.
Transfer characters will be limited in this event. Applications will be opening up for ~20 people from C24 to be able to attend. Look out for a signup thread. Following the event, a small amount of characters may be able to transfer over. This may be an entirely IC process.
Rebels will NOT be portrayed in a traditional way in this event. There will be no whitelisted rebels starting off and they won't have their own base or be extremely geared. If you want to rebel, you'll have to be a citizen and stick with everyone else.
New characters (from Anchorage) or T4+ Loyalists/CCA from C24 may apply for a leadership position in the expedition. This is an extremely dangerous position. A signup thread will be posted with a maximum of three slots.
The event will NOT operate on S2K or TBC. S2RP (Default - Roll or Agreed P2L) will be the norm, anything big can be overseen by an admin.
PKs will be harsh and strict, but fair.
This event takes place in a hostile outlands environment. Death could be a certainty if you don't play your cards correctly.
No refunds will be given throughout this event (bugs or otherwise glitchy weirdness will be looked into.)
