Now I am not giving up my Extension series, as you may have seen; however, this is partly involved with that and taking a bit of a different approach to it. Some have told me that long text walls of suggestions is boring to read so they prefer to dumb everything down into bullet points because of Willard's brainpower.

Jumping straight in, BMDs are in an odd spot right now with so many differing views on it and its functionality being a chaotic amalgamation of ideas with 0% unity makes it a very broken system. And I mean beyond broken. I have been given the power to read through all existing BMD documents and the entire setup is a shadow of its once-working self.

Problem Statement
The BMD system is inconsistent, chaotic and overly bloated with no unity, and its regulations are broken on a whim.

Cause #1: Setup
The BMD setup consists of CT BMDs, Staff BMDs, player BMDs and Faction BMDs. Already, this is bloated. But then we got a barely functional reputation system on top of an entire list of prices which a fellow Staff BMD has told me is often outright ignored in favour of making bullshit prices on the spot because why not and a whole array of regulations and guidelines for BMDs to follow but I don't think anyone cares.

A big system which is just filled with a bunch of random crap, leading to a very disorganised and broken system, even heard that quests are dead in the water and feel so bland. Think you understand this much already as a Rebel.

Cause #2: Leadership
I am not going to hide my feelings on this. But BMD leadership is, by all accounts and via the use of my own 2 eyes... horrendous. Not going to throw any hate towards its leader and avoid naming names, but what I will say is that BMDs need an active leader and looking at the chats, the current one is dead silent and has even gone Missing In Action as of late with no trace or record of where they wandered off to.

Early V2 Days of Willard had 1 leader who was active pretty much every day of the week for a few hours. Keeping maintenance and operations in check consistently and ensuring everything is followed down to a T. But as of the last few months, I think it is safe to say leadership has dug its grave.

Short-Term Solution:
I don't really have one. So let's jump straight to the long term.

Long-Term Solution:
First of all, the BMD system in its current state... scrap it and wipe the slate clean. Rather than building off a chaotic mess, cleaning it up first before building in new foundations and pillars will probably be easier than forcing everyone to suffer through new changes while old ones still exist.

- Limit how many BMDs there are. Currently far too many BMDs on all sides. Cut the numbers down a lot as you only really need a small team, some systems even work with just a singular BMD, but in this case, such won't work. So a small team is best. Maybe 3 minimum, 6 maximum.
-- Adding onto the above: This does mean scrapping Player, Staff and CT BMDs. But not Faction BMDs like Wardens and Nacht

- Once the above is done, create a fresh new pricing sheet which lists not just the pricing of items and resource cost, but also which "Faction" they belong to. This will go hand in hand with a point below.

- Create a new Reputation/Alignment system. This means that BMDs will either be part of Wardens, Nacht or the LFC. 3 factions which you can choose to align with one side or the others. Essentially, each BMD will give you faction related quests which can allow you to access a certain range of equipment as your alignment with a faction increases. Do note the more alignment you lose with the other factions, their equipment will become highly locked off to you.

- The above adds more flavour to BMDs and you can think of it like this:

-- Each side has their benefits and downsides, so pick your alignment wisely. Faction A may give you access to Script X but you may lose the chance to gain Script Y since it falls under Faction B or C. Your alignment also shows what type of Rebel you are as a character.

--- This does not mean the all scripts become locked behind alignment as some items will be neutral, requiring no alignment whatsoever but anything better than standard will require some time and effort to gain affiliation with each side.

There you are.

Additional:
From the old BMD setup, we had a daily routine where STOCK WAS LIMITED, and only a few categories were open. This prevented BMDs from becoming unlimited item vendors and stocks varied drastically with proper supply lines and quests to complete.
