| -BACKSTORY- In Oxford, Britain, a boy named Andre Ortega was born into a simple but dream-filled family. His dad was a literature teacher, and his mom worked as a town planner. They filled their tiny home with books and big ideas of making a positive mark in the world. Growing up, Andre was a curious boy. He was fascinated by the idea of building things. The beautiful bridges and age-old buildings in Oxford always caught his eye. His dream was to understand how such structures stood tall through the years. Even as a little boy, he'd scribble drawings of machines and buildings on any paper he could find. When the time came, Andre's dedication helped him get into a well-known university in Oxford. He was ecstatic; he had always dreamed of studying among the ancient halls and endless shelves of books at his chosen university. He was lucky to get into a unique program that let him study for two degrees at the same time—one in Civil Engineering and the other in Mechanical Engineering. University life was everything Andre had hoped for. He would spend hours buried in books, figuring out how to make strong and beautiful structures. Besides studying, he also joined groups that cared about building things in a way that was good for nature. He also got to work with the town's planning department, which only made him more excited about the future. However, a year after graduating from university, the world began to rumble with the beginning of the portal storms and then soon after the invasion of the Combine. Now residing quietly in the Industrial sector of City 24 and under the new name 'Bugsy' he uses his vast knowledge of engineering to provide aid to his community whenever and wherever he can. |
