Starboard bait is just completely corny and unhealthy. Each day, you see in the discord that some CivPro or random player says something corny just so that they can get their message pinned on the starboard. It's next level attention seeking, and it shouldn't exist and corny quotes correlating to starboard bait should be banned from the server. Change my mind

This is my best source for starboard bait messages in the HL2RPG server. It showcases several things wrong with roleplay quality.
 
It's simply called FailRP, and it's already supposed to be banned, although since the various rule rewrites it's no longer explicitly mentioned as something that's forbidden. The closest thing to that is this line in Section 3, number 1:
A character's / behaviour and view of the world should match the scale and sense of the world they're living in, not real life.

The wording is fine. Enforcement of it is lacking. Some of these screenshots are frankly ridiculous.
 
I'm tempted to archive it. Been having similar doubts about the channel. But then you'll just have the issue of people populating other channels with the same thing. At worst it's a redirect, at best it does put an end to the stupidity-popularity contest.

No but my serious opinion is, the HL2 games had rebels acting like idiots like minge (AR3 guy for example)
I think we should be allowed to some extent to act like tards on characters

But I think starboard is making so where people wanna get clicks for stupid larping, and it really messes up the people who are trying to actually contribute to meaningful larp. Especially citizen larpers like myself.

Replace starboard with like community announcements or something staff ran, and let ppl shitpost in meme-land
or whatever.

There's a clear difference between screaming "YOUR A FUCKING GAY IDIOT!!!" and "I beat several hunters with my bare fists". Nothing is stopping John Willard in the slums from telling other rebels that he managed to bitch slap Dr Breen, they know he's lying and that isn't really "minge behavior".
