Hi.

I'm going to get straight to the point with your appeal, despite me stating very firmly that it was not appealable, but I'm inclined to look the other way. You joined the server and just left the spawn point, that is correct. However, the circumstances which your ban, along with your group, was pursued was due to the certain actions of one of the players. The staff on server alerted me to your group as they were active, and given multiple comments; there was rising concern given to each of you within the smaller amount of interaction you had shown to the other players.

The first thing that came to my mind was one character; Doofy. Another character, Cthulu. These were the first warning signs regarding your character names as this is a Serious RP server. It is incredibly unlikely for a group of individuals within this gamemode in particular to accidentally commit into the same formulae. What was a further concern was when I proceeded to ask Doofy to change his description, which was already deliberately provocative to the playerbase that passed along and viewed his description, alone.

Now, I wouldn't have batted too much of an eye if he had merely changed it to something more appropriate, however he escalated the sit when I asked him politely to change it, and reminded him he was within a level of administration on a community that hosts a plethora of pre-existing roleplay schemas of the same if not referential layer of quality.

The current description was, and I quote:

"boring af to type" or what ever similar description was narrated, though it was a little longer. It was changed to the following directly after the positive sanction was asked:

As per the other character -

Our community holds a heavy zero-tolerance guard on this sort of thing, and a ban was warranted the moment the highlighted screenshot above had came into affect, which was spoken over to my members of staff, by my members of staff. This was struck in with affiliation.

TL;DR - You don't actively look at Serious RP and with four collective and mindful bodies, deciding "This is going to be a good idea." It is very common, if not the most common way to spot people that are looking to start trouble, and it was only a matter of time until then.

I will ask my staff involved to see whether or not you should be given an unban, though the members that were active were cautious, due to very similar behaviours emitted in the past a plentiful amount of times by people coined into the same activity regarding what followed this ban similarly. Until then, I am resilient to the idea of lifting it given the circumstances presented.

Regards.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Doofy was confused because you knew who he was and was trying to figure out any kind of connection.
The time in between you asking him to change his description and you banning us was like 3-4 minutes.
Thats even hardly enough time to make a serious description (disregarding the fact that he was trying to figure out a connection between you and him). Sadly i didnt clip my gameplay but i can tell you everything i have done:

I spawned and was confused why my vision was blurry.
I ran around at spawn until i found my glasses.
After that i found the group i joined with and then your msg instantly came.

I dont think (in my opinion) a preemptive ban was warranted in that situation.
All we have spoken about in our voice chat (you can ask everyone) that the server looks very high quality and looks fun.

There's no connections in regards to knowing anyone, personally.
My methodology is tracing Steam IDs and making decisions from there with a few lookups.

Similar situations have happened in the past like this in relevance though they were actually warranted for people that have attempted to hurt the atmosphere of the server deliberately, and given quick reaction in this current formulae of events then it's merely a matter of natural impulsiveness when it comes to making a judgement call.

Given the time it is currently in BST and it being around 2:30am around the time you were banned (I have been staffing the server since around 6:00 / 7:00pm so there was a matter of exhaustion involved that may have impeded critical decision making in that due time) - i will consider an unban accepted. Please pass me your steam IDs so you can play, and give my regards that I do not mean it personally and that I send my sincere apologies.

Thank you for the quick reply once again and your reconsideration.

There was a fourth one missing but I'll find it in the logs, in all due haste.
(Slight delay since my GMOD has decided to off itself to the desktop.)
