Brief summary of the character: A Civil Protection Officer, residing within the confines of City Twenty-Four, gripping onto loyalty that most others have discarded without a second thought. With less allies remaining by each painful dawn, she awaits the forthcoming doom led by enemies of the Combine, as there's no way she's going to survive what awaits in this otherwise devilish land. Not for a miracle.
Why do you want to play this character?: I enjoy playing as an antagonist, and I'd like to provide something for the opposing side to play around with. Plus, feels like this would be perfect, considering this character has been sitting in C24 for a while, and it's the next destination for the TLM resistance.

  • Full Backstory (required for Event Characters, but others may do this if they want to): James Daniels is a Middle-aged male in his middle 40's who Joined Civil Protection for a Better life and better Rations, he has been in City 24 but then being stationed out in the outlands due to his high ranking officials putting him on Outland duty for a while due to the problems in City 24, However all that matters to him is not the Lives of other people, because all he cares about is getting that perk which made him still obey the Combine and believes he could get the Perk by staying instead of being a Traitor and joining the Resistance which is by Betraying the Combine which he doesn't care which path he is even going which he even forgotten his past, his family, and the people he even knew all he does is just to Obey whatever his Rank Leader tells him to do if it just Gives him his Perk and everything he wishes however there may be a chance that he may switch sides shall he continue with his path with the Combine or shall he switch paths by just escaping if the Resistance takes the Base and captures it continuing his own paths.

  • *Why do you want to play this character?: To add some intensity for the opposing force and to actually play a role that is fully indoctrinated in stopping the oncoming rebel army.

  • Full Backstory :
Leila joined the Civil Protection for the same reason as many others before and after her; for a better standard of living for herself and her family but more for the aforementioned, being poverty stricken for the majority of her adult life pre-enlistment. Her career was somewhat quiet and unremarkable but dangerous - A danger that built a wall of bodies and a growing resentment for the resistance movements within City 32 and the wider world; the recent events within the city and her relocation pushing the hateful ideology further as with various voices and higher influences whispering into her ear. The very aspect of anger and will for survival birthed a shell of a woman filled with misanthropic hatred and fear, hatred for the so-called criminals fighting for their freedom and the fear for her own life now that the cards are down. This has lead her to fall down into extremist and esoteric circles within the ranks of the Civil Protection, pushed by her peers - Feeding off the woman's negativity and weaponizing it for their very will. A true pawn, a soldier reborn to cause harm on the very people who are fighting for their freedom. Leila's fate bound and transformed; Only if things were different, the position and death grip would not have prevailed.

Guthrie ran a rather dubious construction firm in the years leading up to the occupation. His morally unscrupulous technological capabilities soon put him on the fast track to increasingly dangerous and distant jobs from his lost home in Tennessee. Though in some small way he misses living in the shadow of the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid in Memphis; his life and labor belong squarely to the Combine.

Ever the sardonic misanthrope, Tanner Guthrie's career and second divorce just a year before the 7 Hour War had him lose any faith in mankind's ability to steward itself or this planet. He has garnered a variety of skills which, when coupled with this rather fatalistic outlook on life, have metastasized into a highly technical career within the larger Combine apparatus.

Now he finds himself with perhaps an impossible task.

  • What's your favorite thing about Half Life? I still think about how similar in design the Gravity Gun is to the chamber at the start of 1, the visual rhyme there connects the two games in a subtle yet so visible that you miss it kind of way.

Having been born into luxury in the city of Porto, Martins had always been an admirer of all things royal. However, when the inevitable came, this did not lead him to seek collaboration with an occupier who could easily grant him the lavish lifestyle he wished to reclaim, in return for conforming to their ideals. No, Martins was of the firm belief that the only way forward was to preserve the system that had worked for centuries. This conviction led him to become a resistance fighter throughout much of the twenty years of occupation, including participation in the campaign to drive the Combine out of the Iberian region, with the help of the "Krah’Aur’Nur." And now, as the bell tolls for the occupier in their region as well, Martins feels a need to repay the Genevans’ efforts in their own city, especially considering he had been forced to flee due to the Race-X invasion force. But the most important part of that is his honor, is it not?

Hell, by now, he can’t even remember where he was and what he did.
Decades have passed and now he’s trying to do the same thing he has done for such a long time. Keep order, follow overwatch, do whatever your superior says, sleep.
Not the most charming of individuals, just another masked mook that was given a gun and a stun baton and told to “keep the peace”.

The man is awoken from his daydreaming, the APC he’s in is packed to the brim with fellow CP officers, all off them anxiously waiting..
Some are twirling their thumbs, a few are impatiently tapping feet..
Tension, so much tension.
A month ago, people were cracking jokes and carelessly handling their guns, now..
Everyone is either worried about dying or have murder on their mind and nothing else.
It’s like a nuclear bomb has set off and everyone was caught in the blast radius.
Race-X are coming in from the west, the uprising is in full-swing, tempest storms up north, cutting communication with a few cities..
The writing is on the wall for the future of humanity and now..
Hell, they’re in the middle of it and they have chosen to stick around a bit longer with the combine.
“Buck-73. This is Echo-58, ETA is 20 minutes until arrival. Over and out.”
Twenty minutes more and they’ll reach their destination, something big is going to happen and they know it, *he knows it.*

Tell us about yourself:
I came from SS13 in-terms of RP, so I’m more speech-centric compared to most people here who are used to using ‘/me’s’ 24/7.
The first time that I came to this server, I was pushed away due to the fact everything was very slow-paced and that I didn’t have many sandbox elements to play with or RP around, but with time.
I started to enjoy HL2RP more and more, despite it having certain problems..
I like drawing and have found some enjoyment from posing in GMOD!

Half-Life is mostly a “comfort game” for me, I really like playing through the games if I’m in a bad mood or something else.
I like the setting as well!
The authoritarian and gritty nature of the games, it’s quite enjoyable as well!

  • Full Backstory: They promised me safety for my family. They promised me they would be far away from all the chaos. They told me they would get warm food and clean water. They told me I would get to see them. All I had to do was join the peacekeeping effort and try to keep the peace.
    The garrisons were emptier than I thought, there were rumours circulating that a good chunk of them had ran off after Seventeen's fall, or managed to be relocated to nigh ghost towns.

    We struggled to repel rioting crowds demanding food and water, any sort of help as resources continued drying up. All of what was produced by the workshifts was immediately exported to the frontlines: military gear, parts, weapons, ammunition.
    I saw fearful men and women just like me getting weaker by the day, while energetic spirits continued yelling and protest against our reluctant inaction: those same ones would lead the most vivid attempts at survival I had ever seen, trying with all their might to gain the bare minimum.

    More than once did I feel the urge to run. But I couldn’t. I held the line, that had to have been enough, it was what I had to do it for them. But when they asked me to commit atrocities for the sole purpose of maintaining the peace, I just couldn't bring myself to, I simply froze.
    My inaction had no doubt contributed to the city's inevitable collapse, and as the city inched closer to crumbling from the inside out, I was pulled away from it, and in an ultimatum I was told that I was needed at the frontlines. It was the last chance I had of seeing my family.
