SECTOR FOURTEEN
CITY FOURTY-NINE
PRETORIA
SOUTH AFRICA
Or, what's left of it.
The city of Pretoria has long served as the administrative capital of South Africa, governing their provinces with a mostly fair fist. Corrupt politicians have come and gone, but something that seems to be staying is the iron grip of the Combine.
With an army crumbling within the first few hours of invasion, Pretoria lay ripe for the picking- destroyed and burnt in almost all areas bar those the Combine had labeled as strategical advantages, its once free citizens had felt the crippling aura of tyranny once again.
With no more reason to fight against one another for skin tone, country of origin, or political belief, the once broken populace binds together in the name of their country.
The capital has been cut up into sections, each more degrading than the rest- if you can even call the first something to start with
1. Capital District, and Citadel
This is where most "LOYALISTS" reside within the city, taking up the mantle of a loyal citizen amongst brave Civil Protectors.
That's not what it turned out to be. These loyalists work for their own good, doing deeds to serve themselves, and if these brave protectors dare intrude on their business- well, the history of the country will show its face. Do not oppress those that have slaved these lands for so long.
2. Residential District
If you aren't a loyalist, you don't get into the capital district. You stay out here, with the rest of the scum in the hot streets, with no air conditioning. You can wave your face with your hands all you like, but it's going to do nothing. Crime is rampant in this area and Civil Protection dare not venture out here without an APC and some friends. When Civil Protection don't show their 'faces', gangs blow up metal shacks with molotovs and shoot eachother dead in the street infront of innocent surveyors.
3. Industrial District
Filled with smoke, sand, smog, and whatever other pollutants- this district is filled with boiler suit donning workers. Some drop dead from the heat and extreme hours, some persist on, insisting themselves they're going to be rewarded for assisting the Combine, and others know what hell they're going through and how powerless they are to stop it. Supplies often go missing at odd hours of the night, cameras catching mask wearing perps running off with them. Civil Protection are too late to catch them thanks to the disgusting amount of smoke blinding their vision. The streets are tighted pack with boxes of spare supplies, meaning the bright lights from APC's cannot help them here.
4. Afrikaanse Bevrydingsbeweging
A group of fighters, men and women, white and black, they've put aside centuries of hatred for one another to see that another invader has come to their land. They hide out in this small area, growing food for themselves off of the rich soil and slowly looting from the Industrial District. Their numbers slowly rise, and eventually, the city will soon see them in full. Whether they live or die matters not to them- they'd be dying for a country their ancestors have fought, just as they have, to protect.
