District 52 of the newly founded City 8 was a rapidly established production venue for largely defensive retail. The multitude of prewar factories that still remained standing due to the formerly named Tokyo's lack of involvement with the war made it a perfect candidate for further union industrialization. However its location was unfavorable, situated just a few miles ahead of multiple unconditioned sectors. Despite this consequence, the local ministry decided to up bring the district as a high-end manufacturer that would supply both the local Civil Protection Forces as well as construct and assist in the transportation of a deluge of much needed Restrictors.

The District's rise was swift and heavily controlled. Civilians with prior manufacturing or engineering backgrounds were specially moved in or around the district for the explicit purpose of furthering adequate participation. This was made all the easier by the mass exodus of outland survivors, now arriving from all across the once isolated island of Japan.

However, this would bring about an unforeseen consequence as time passed. The mass influx in the civilian population would result in a multitude of clerical errors by the newly established and amateur ministry, as well as draw opportunistic eyes from within; that sought sabotage.

These consequences would mount during the old world's uprising in the year of 2005. Prior to this period the district had become a clandestine haven for traitors and saboteurs, united against the unions interests. For months it’s factories had been secretly and slowly siphoning materials to the outlands to be picked up and utilized by gathering resistance forces. While the bulk of assets had gathered within the mainland, many resistance members sought to secure the island of japan and maintain it as a permanent front against the combine. The key to this...City 8.

The fighting was fierce and rebels spilled in from secret passages across multiple districts of the city, avoiding the outer defenses altogether due to clever tactics. Multiple logistical sabotages also ensured the local protection forces and conscription bases were caught on the backfoot with either defective, or missing equipment. For some time, as district 52 nearly fell into rebel hands, things looked promising for the island forces.

However it did not last, as the transhuman's arm was deployed and began brushing aside the opposing fighters with little strain. With rebels retreating rapidly into any holes that could hide them, the majority of the struggle for City 8 was over, just a week after the arrival of the augmented soldiers. The aftermath of the fighting left many districts in a state of chaos and confusion. District 52 the most uncertain of them all.

A purge of local leadership occurred in it's industrial sectors, but rapidly spilled forth into many others. This silent and swift elimination of any high ranking infiltrators effectively cut off future plans to use the district as a funnel for treachery. Furthermore, many of the factories and warehouses were damaged, along with the residential sector that supported the influx of workers. Supply lines were weakened for the moment, but many outside the rebellion hoped for the situation to improve in time.

This would not come to be. For the rebel forces were not done with the district and for the following weeks, then months, then years, fought a clandestine and shadowy war against the local CPF, and occasionally, OTA forces present. This led to further wear and tear upon the district's stability for both production and hosting of society.

Unsurprisingly the city administration became tired of the Districts constant struggles and degradation and elected to move production burdens forth onto new, more favorable locations. This complete abandonment of support, though staggered over years, was felt hard by the locals. Even the loyalists began to feel the burden of daily life increase as one by one the perks they once enjoyed began to rapidly wither before them. The local CPF forces were withdrawn in numbers further weakening the unions hold on the area.

Finally the district's ultimate end was spelled as a foolhardy and overzealous commander of local rebel forces misread the situation dearly. Believing the district to be ripe for an attack he mounted the streets from below with a force estimated to be around 150 strong.

However they were not met with any notable resistance, instead the district was sealed away, all entrances and exits closed off. Then came a whistle through the air as a barrage of large combine canisters soared through the sky, and onto the streets, roofs and homes of district 52.

The district was simply left to the parasitics to solve the rebel problem for them. The combine, having finally lost patience for the area, condemned it to die. Civilians were not made aware of this action until it was too late. Though many tried to escape, few succeeded, leaving countless damned to the horrendous necrotic fates.

Today it remains in a condemned state, one of only a few quarantine areas around City 8. Serving as a raw reminder, to the more prosperous districts, the price of treachery, or failure.
