"My heart is of blue, white, and gold, a thin layer which wraps my pride along with my love for mankind."
Alexios Nicolau, he is the Administrator of City 38, he is the man upon Athens throne and he seeks to revive the historical, cultural, and military might of the once great Greek city by any means necessary not stopping until a new era of Humanism is fully embraced.
Born to an agrarian family in the southern island of Crete, Alexios spent his earlier years painting the vineyards of his family's farmhouse. His style based upon Italo-Greco art through family heirloom portraits. Around his early adolescent years he would leave his family to lead himself into a philosophical lifestyle, studying in the university in Athens. He formed his own opinions of the world, and through it, his social concept theory of Humanism - the belief in a rebirth of Humanity's culture, a return to more philosophical thinking of the classical, renaissance and enlightenment eras. His lifestyle choices thrived a natural skill towards spreading his social theory. Individuals throughout the country looked up to him for an answer in shaping civilisation and society. Some saw him as a would-be-Fascist, who wants to recall a more barbaric era which brought about radical supremacist movements to order. While others saw him as a worthy leader and a well-spoken philosopher, at age 23, he would enlist in the Hellenic Army. His educational and artistic background would give him privileges of rising him in the ranks for officership, and at aged 25 he was a captain in the Greek Armed Forces. Though there was great instability.
A Military Junta formed, conspired by three scheming colonels. Through this he would speak with Georgios Papadopoulos, the president of Greece during the Junta Regime's reign. Nicolau, with support of the people, talked down the short-lived coup, and finally ascended in the high ranks of the army. He pushed his social theories aside, for he had entered an entirely different lifestyle.
Though on the 20th July of 1974 after years of disputes, Turkey would invade Cyprus as relations between the two powers broke down. Nicolau was one of the many high rankings who lead the counteroffensive against the Turkish forces and he would be commended for his leadership during the four week conflict. Afterward, he would retire from his service of the army, returnning back to Crete to his family's vineyard. He would write a thesis along with multiple books of Humanism that he once abandoned for his military service, and as well as painting many vistas of the Greek islands. In the late 1990s, his paintings went all over the world some even taking a place in museums in Western Europe and North America. His philosophy hadn't changed, he kept it written and based his morals on it.
The Combine would invade the earth, conquering it in seven hours and though while the country itself fell, he had witnessed the alien armada taking abruptly sixteen hours for them to land on Crete. Though much of the island had remained a fortress against the original Xenian invasion, with streets being barricaded by sandbags and concrete barriers, among the people stood a suited Nicolau. The Combine forces had begun processing all of the people on the island and that was, through negotiation with Nicolau, managing to arise as a temporary governor of Crete until its Civil Administration was formed. Along with the residents of the island, Nicolau was moved to the newly established City 38. He took his books along with anything else and he arrived. He decided to instantly rewrite the social theory of Humanism, modifying it to fit that of the Combine's dreaded assimilating ideology. But the greatest change was the inclusion and the policy regarding Xenian-related species, which greatly impacted how Humanism was seen as ideology. His teachings and his meetings around Athens became widely popular amongst old-world scholars, writers, and artists and soon enough he would be the stepping stone of multiple organizations; one of which is the GNC. His influence in the city gave him the position of Civil Administrator, to which he rules Athens and Greece under a velvet glove with his fullest intent on creating a social renaissance for mankind itself.
