To be clear, what you said was:

Mint banned you, but mods in the VC agreed with it, so do not put this as 'why did the devs ban me' as it was not Mint's sole decision. IMHO you are lucky it was only a daycation and nothing longer, but that is just a dev's 2 cents, I guess. It is not behavior that I would like to see at WN and where we need to draw a clear line on the ground that anything like that is not acceptable, for any reason.

Like honestly, for me, there is nothing you can say to defend yourself as to what you said. There is no 'I only said this' or 'it was a joke' or even the fact you are Irish yourself. People will read that and think it is acceptable - while it is not. The fact it is a joke or that you are Irish nobody on the server can derive from seeing just your OOC message.

Next time, keep it in mind that OOC is text chat without any form of context whatsoever.

Context is very important. If it was in private, or in local chat, or in character this would be a different story. However, as Gr4ss said, it was posted right in global OOC on a full server with zero context and it was interpreted as racism.

We do have a free speech policy. However, we also have a zero-tolerance policy for racism. Nothing you can say can change the fact that you posted a racist comment in global OOC and got banned for it. We are a community that enforces our rules.

It is just a one day ban. Come back tomorrow and try not to do it again in the future.
