DID THEY DESERVE IT? Yes. Yes, they did. Forthright in their merciless they tread across their barren wastes with arousal and wish for more dead men to stub their toes in for power, gluttonous for more dead. They gladly have their lands raped, churned into a thin stretch of desert intercut with monolithic pipes, and train-tracks; they seek the worst for the best, and the best for the worst. Empathy for people who have none, they bare no souls, no mind of their own -- brainwashed into incomprehensible monsters capable of executing the most horrid of deeds, for their own pleasure and melancholy is superior to others -- their narcissism overweighs their morals. Yet, when you do the same to them, when you tell them of their exploits, read their crimes out to them the same way they have placed gallows on the innocent a thousand times before, they cry out to you: "I was only doing my job", "Don't you have any empathy?', "I was forced to do it!", sickening how they lie, cornered animals are they are. Bare without their waistcoats, or purple prose, they show that they truly are: murderers. The lot of them, from the street-crier to the Administrator, they are all your enemy. All your foe.
THE GREATEST LIEof the 21st century is the invocation of "force". Forced to do, forced to act. Forced to live. In my short time in the halls of power, nothing was forced on to me. Nothing was thrust in my face and told to act. I did, and acted, of my own accord. Because in my time, the people clamored for a leader, rabid and afraid as they were. And extraordinary men seldom appear in history. Everything I signed, every order I gave, I did with a light conscience and proud composure. But as the author of this mockery of a pamphlet correctly states, "their" narcissism overweighs their morals. I explained them in very calm words that there were threats beyond what the eyes can see. The spirit of The District, an organism just as you and me, was diseased. They did not listen to me. The very disease at the root of things took control of the organism, and led us into ruin. A reactionary is he who wishes to turn back the clock out of fear of what is ahead of us. I have been observing you all from my spot above. Reaction has won. It is they who have caused this destruction, it is they who were led into temptation with the liberalistic lies of freedom and liberty, a dream never achieved, and impossible to achieve. I do not hunger for death. To do so would be inhuman. But in the face of its destruction, what else can The Organism do but fight back? Clearly, it was not enough. Revel in your own failure, humanity. Pray your spirit allows you passage into heaven. You have little else left.
