As it stands, the Smuggler NPC system has had a great deal of use beyond its underground rebel function. There are a lot of Combine-related factions including but not limited to Overwatch, Civil Protection, CWU, CMU and the BRI that all have their own NPC Salesmen that dispense items. I'm seeing more and more of them crop up every couple of weeks too. This is completely fine, but we're missing a very vital feature that would not only act as a way of combatting an ever-increasing currency inflation but also prevent abuse on a large scale. This suggestion is for:
The implementation of giving administrative options in the Edit Smuggler menu to switch the buy/sell currency between Chips OR Credits.
I'm a firm believer in maintaining a healthy economy, rebel or Combine. When your economy pumps out unlimited currency through rations/wages and the only thing you have to purchase with said credits are a few goods from player-run shops, you're going to be sitting on a boatload of cash once you've got all the items you want from said stores. This is especially true if you're a CP whose expenditure of credits (at least to my knowledge) is limited. That is why every single item that exists in the game should, in addition to having a Chip value ALSO have a Credit value. Even necessary items like uniforms, radios, things that faction members need to purchase on daily basis should cost some bit of credits, even if it's only 1-2 credits each.
Don't have enough funds to buy yourself what you need from the vendor? Roleplay it out and ask your faction lead character. They don't have enough credits to supply you? Then they can roleplay it out and ask the Ministry of Commerce for a grant/loan. All this does is generate more roleplay and less ass-pulling of items. We just had an NPC Smuggler brought to our attention that was accessible to everyone and gave out free stuff that we've been seeing plenty of players with recently. This would not have happened if perhaps these items actually costed something. In this world of civilization breakdown and infrastructure deterioration, nothing should be free or plentiful beyond reason.
