The Commendations Act

The Commendation Act establishes the distribution of rings, ribbons, medals, and other civic awards as a form of recognition for individual services to City Eight and establishes formal criteria for earning such a distinction and awarding it, emphasizing the importance of exemplary service and achievement in the pursuit of public good, it is the prerogative of the City Administrator, Vice-Administrator, and Legislative Diet to ensure that these commendations are appropriately bestowed.

Citizens who believe an individual's merit is deserving of recognition through the awarding of a commendation are requested to send letters via the Communion terminal or to the current Chairperson of the Security Council.

COMMENDATIONS
Rings come with a 10 Social-Credit reward.
Ribbons come with a 15 Social-Credit reward.
Medals come with a 20 Social-Credit reward.

The Vice-Administrator, City-Administrator, and Legislative Diet are allowed to distribute awards.
The Vice-Administrator and City-Administrator can issue commendations at will.
An i1+ and Tier-5+ may distribute ring commendations at will.
A Tier-6+ may distribute ribbon commendations at will.
A Tier-7, Minister, District Administrator/Chairperson, and General Secretary, may distribute medal commendations at will.
All commendations must have a viable reason for being rewarded.
All reward announcements must be displayed publicly.
Any nepotism or gifting will be investigated.


RINGS

COLLABORATOR RING
A Triple-Sapphire Ring with a Matte Finish dubbed 'The Collaborator Ring.' It is a common ring bestowed to citizens who indicate a certain level of collaboration with Civil Authority Members. Whether this be assisting an Assembly member, providing useful information, or getting close to them seems to be on a case-by-case basis.

PROGRESSIVE BAND
A band personalized with amethyst, peridot, and topaz set in matte white gold with the receiver's fingerprint. It is primarily given to scientists who have contributed to minor projects, primarily in the realm of science.

RING OF HIGHER WORK
A ring copper ringer finished with a silver and onyx band in the middle. It is gifted to Union employees who have vigilantly worked in their particular organization. This could be anyone from a Medical Doctor holding a blood drive to a Civil Worker who has recently carried out orders from the Ministry of Commerce.

FINE ARTS RING
This rose gold band with an abstract pattern is presented to small-time breakthroughs by artists in their respective fields. This could be presented to a citizen by a Civil Authority member for writing a particularly good article, starting a band, or opening up a library.

COMMUNITY BAND
A golden ring hand-carved with a landscape. It's presented to citizens who play an active part in the community. Whether that is running a store, actively hosting pro-government rallies, or otherwise working with the community.

ACTIVIST RING
This ring features four garnets with changeable colours resting in an illusion setting adorned with sparkling diamonds. The ring is presented to those who enroll in official Assembly political parties and play an active role. The colours of the garnets are changeable per party so that it corresponds with such a party.
Such (current) examples may be that the ISO-Centralist Band could be all red and The Futurist Party's band may be green-white-white-red.

RIBBONS

LONDON RIBBON
A red and yellow ribbon with a golden olive branch on it, denoting service during the Battle of City 2 within any of the military branches of the Combine. It is usually a standard ribbon given to all incoming conscripts.

CIVIL DEFENSE RIBBON
A red and white ribbon with four blue stars in the center. The ribbon is primarily given to members of the community who have taken measures to defend their community. This may come in forms such as intervening in a mugging or starting a community watch group.

WHITE STAR RIBBON
A blue ribbon with a singular white star in the center. The White Star denotes an impact on foiling an anti-civil plan ahead of time. This may come in the form of extraordinary defensive planning, reporting an upcoming attack, overhearing a plot in a bar and reporting it, and so on.

MERIT RIBBON
A white and blue ribbon with white stars in its lines. The Merit Ribbon indicates the fulfillment of duties related to defence, military action, or intelligence. It may be rewarded based on outstanding actions in these fields not directly related to another ribbon.

MEDALS

HERO OF THE COMBINE AWARD (BREEN AWARD)
A bronze medal is usually anodized in gold with a blue, red, and white cloth attached above. This medal is among the highest distinguishments a civilian may receive and is commonly called the Breen Award. It's gifted to conformists who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, directly serving the C.C.A. in a vital call for the Combine.

(Restricted to City Twenty-Four)

The Hero of City Twenty-Four is presented to those who have served City Twenty-Four, be they citizens or officials in the military/police force, who were recognized for their continued and commendable contributions to the city's longevity.

MEDAL OF THE ARTS (GOODFELLA AWARD)
A bronze medal displaying the logo of the Ministry of Enlightenment. It's given to any individual who has majorly culturally advanced the local administration. Achievements which warrant this could be writing a best-selling book, starting a substantial pro-Combine ideology/faith, or otherwise.

PRIDE OF THE COMMUNITY MEDAL
This bronze medal, ingrained with a 'helping hand' and finished with a purple, white, blue, and black ribbon, is presented to members of the community who have assisted others during times of need. It is usually gifted following or during wartime, natural disasters, or some other period when an individual benefits their community by providing goods and services to those in need.

PEOPLE'S DOCTOR MEDAL
A bronze medal featuring a wreath, star, and five rings for each of its points attached to a blue, yellow, and green striped ribbon. It is presented to those who have achieved worthwhile accomplishments in the medical and public health industries.

MEDAL OF LABOUR AWARD
A copper medal with an engraving featuring a hammer and compass and the seal of City Twenty-Four attached to a green and white striped ribbon is presented to members of the community who have displayed considerable merit in the Civil Workers Union, Department of Business, Ministry of Commerce, or other any other substantial accomplishments in the field of labour and economy.

MEDAL OF PROGRESS
A star, atom, and wreath line this silver medal. It's presented to those who have completed and have those who have pioneered substantial projects within the scientific community relevant to the Combine or the C.C.A.

MEDAL OF ARMED SERVICE
A bronze medal branded with a star and eagle was presented to those who served the Combine as a Conscript, Officer, or proselyte and provided exemplary results. It is provided post-discharge.

BRONZE STAR
The Bronze Star is presented to those who have served the Combine, be it a citizen or official in the military/police force, commemorating those injured in the line of service to the Combine.
