Steam Name: Captain
SteamID: 76561198011509209

Name of the Admin you were banned by: Fedora
How long is the ban for?: Community ban
The reason you were banned?: Pedophilic jokes, being a pedophile (???)
Why do you wish to be unbanned?: Invalid Ban
Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?: My evidence is quoting the rules exactly, Discord rule #1 and General rule #0.

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: (List the steam and/or character names of them or tag them) No

I didn't really expect this, it was pretty abrupt and random. I got banned for pedophilic jokes, setting my nickname on the main discord server to "the sex with children", referencing the infamous family guy YTP, and others, the "it's getting harder... to not rape children.. it's getting harder... I'm.. getting harder", was quoting a gif I posted. These were just jokes and I didn't expect anyone to take them seriously. I didn't make them maliciously and I'm not a pedophile for thinking a family guy YTP is funny. They didn't really get any attention at all, or anyone talking to me about it, except for Jeffrey saying "what did he mean by this?"

I made these jokes under the impression they were allowed, reading the rules and deciding that they were allowed, if anyone told me to stop, I would, and also seeing how people would make giant rants about fucking horses and MLP without anyone really caring. About rule one, it's really difficult to get a picture of what's allowed, and from my perspective I totally thought that it was allowed, not in the danger zone. I can't find any rule that I broke, Not discord rule #1, not rule #0, and I am not dr peepo, that's out of the question. Rule #0 specifically says it gives admins to power people for the rules not listed below, but there was a rule for what I did, to be muted until I changed my name, which is quite different from a community ban. I want to make this very clear that it's not a loophole, like listed in the further explanation of rule #0, and I didn't break any rules, and me being "immature", breaking discord rule #1, is really a stretch, and I don't think is a good example of it being enforced.

Maybe I should've been more careful, but I really did not think anyone would care about me referencing a family guy YTP, maybe it wasn't very clear that it was, but I still didn't think it was catastrophic to read for anyone, and I think anyone in my shoes could've related to that. I've looked over and I can't find a single rule I've broken, except for me getting a mute until I changed my nickname, not rule #1 or #0, and without the rules being changed or an exception being made, I don't understand how a community ban is appropriate. Maybe if I got any kind of warning I would've stopped, but I didn't break any rules. I really care about this community and I don't want to go out like this, or go out at all.

Note: Please do not close this thread immediately without letting me deliver a counter argument.

Notice of Clarification for Rule #0
Rule 0 is present to help understand players how rules are enforced by the Willard Staff team.

Admin Discretion gives admins the power to punish players for offences not listed in the rules below when a player's actions or general behaviour creates a negative playing experience for another player, and/or is detrimental to the roleplaying environment we aim to create on the server. Examples of Admin Discretion under Rule 0 is punishing a player for having roleplay not up to standard, directing a player to change their roleplay to better fit the server environment and punishing a player that has broken a rule despite it not being a written example of the rule. That last example brings us to the second half of the rule.

It is impossible to list every example of each rule being broken. Players are expected to understand the intent of the rule and not abuse any loopholes in order to get around this intent. Admins may step in should a player be found to be abusing loopholes where the rule was clearly broken.
The intent of Rule #0 is to provide freedom for Admins to give out punishments they see fit, even if the rule is not explicitly written down within the Guidelines. This rule also applies to the Discord, Forums and other servers within the Willard Community.

I still don't understand it's grounds for a community ban, or how it could've hurted anybody. I didn't think it could've even qualified for a mute and name change. It really isn't a big deal and I stand behind that.

Yo,

I realise the comments you made were in all likely hood the result of a darker sense of humour, however Paedophilia and the joking of Paedophilia is something which we take very seriously. We cannot take any chances when it comes to that sort of thing and after reviewing some of the evidence provided by the administrators I have to deny this appeal on the grounds that the jokes were not only in excess but were unfortunately not very funny either, if it were a case of one or two off-colour jokes the situation would never have come this far.

I seriously urge you to find a new theme for your jokes, it could land you in a lot of trouble.

:)

Further clarifiction: Rule 0 is discretionary, meaning an Admin can take it upon themselves to warn/ban a person assuming the situation demands it.
