There are certain events on the server that really diminish the roleplay quality and are "unrealistic" and sometimes borderline mingey.
ChumtoadsChumtoads are essentially legalized minging for gamemasters. These things out of nowhere in the Combine-controlled city, teleport someone or something away, and everyone is left scrambled. After a while, the victim is either teleported back or finds their way. No cohesive response as retaliation can be done on the Combine side, the chumtoad is gone as quickly as it appeared. Moreover, it's just frankly silly.
I won't talk about convoluted Willard lore, but I'm pretty sure the Combine are on Earth because they want local teleportation, that they otherwise do not have access to.
Having these frogs teleport around would catch the Combine's attention on a large scale. However, on the server, this is impossible to do because the chumtoads just disappear. Even if it was, it SHOULDN'T be taken and experimented on because it clashes with the Black Mesa survivors being important to the Combine.
This was a server-wide /event, as I had 'seen' it from the Nexus.

Omnipotent ghostsThere has been a ghost harassing people (icly) in the city. One that goes around and fucks with the victim's minds and makes them do the ghost's bidding while laughing ominously. And it can even set people briefly on fire. And teleport them.
Civil Protection was quickly made aware of it, and then later on, the Transhumans when detaining some presumed to be rogue cops (including an RL), which was something done by the ghost.
Furthermore, a cop was teleported alllll the way to City 2 by this same entity (iirc). Same issue as the chumtoad. The Combine would be very interested in this, but due to circumstances and general taboo in relation to teleportation tech, it cannot be done.
If this had just been a creepy ghost that spooks people, it would've been pretty cool. But it had to be something super powerful that can teleport cops out of the nexus and to a different city, and even be present in the Combine stronghold (Nexus).
SCP-106 in the NexusThere was some black goo that spawned literally SCP-106, black goo monster, in the Nexus. Unlike the ghost above, this one was atleast 'fight-able' and able to be contained, and some good roleplay was produced from it. I'm adding it here just to juxtapose the ghost thing.
Rebel and vort NPCsRebel and vort NPCs have been used quite a lot recently. Frankly, I don't think this should be done, and I am pretty sure it was a rule in the past: to not use NPCs that can be confused for real players, as the engaging party might think of them as actual players and attempt to roleplay and then just get shot.
And this is just me theorizing, but I don't know if these NPCs strictly target Combine factions or all players in general when set to be hostile. That could be another issue.
The rebel NPCs periodically talk about Freeman, which exacerbates the problem. Some players, as Scanners, can hear them whilst flying around in the city, according to one guy who says he constantly hears voicelines about greeting Freeman.
This is just the tip of the iceberg in my eyes. I encourage people who have criticisms about similar events to share them in this thread. Please be civil and nice.
