Topic/subject: Fail RP orchestrated through an Event.

Whom it may concern: @TheGamingPlumber @zkillermuffin @HerrSpray Myself @Tuki @Kranky @Zebra

Summary: From my perspective, Kranky did everything he could to avoid the scenario he was in with zero interest in the quality of roleplay for the parties involved - which I would never expect from a prior Mentor and active Creative Team member for this server. Their character was in what seems externally like the most vulnerable position possible. The entire first scenario had to be voided due to them minge running despite being hogtied in character. The second scenario was a carbon copy of him minge running but orchestrated through three lines of roleplay done in an event as a do-over. The protection team responding was forced to enter a turn-based S2RP despite the organic event being natural. We could not initiate in S2K to incapacitate. When S2K began, it was done immediately after Kranky was half-untied with his hands still tied behind his back. From there, S2K was called and we were disallowed to pursue by dispatch.

Recommendation: Evaluate the events that lead up to this and thereafter, come up with a logical conclusion to the scenario.

I had fully thought that he was captured until I was sent this link. This is absolutely atrocious.

A few days ago, I was pulled aside by two officers who apparently had 'read my file' and knew that I had connections to the underground. These officers took me to the top floor of the loyalist housing while tied and threatened to throw me to my death unless I provided Olivier's location. Luckily for them, Olivier had popped up on my radar a day prior and I knew I could find him. With the only requirement being "You have one week before we BOL and hunt you down." I got to work.

Tuki's vort was hanging out, shooting the shit in our base when Olivier knocked on the door. I explained the situation to his vort- but only half way.

"I want you to erase the memories of us, and the base."

I zip tied, searched and sat him in a chair where he was questioned by several people then the vortigaunt ritual took place.
This task took a minimum of 4 hours, I sat and waited patiently, then once this was finished I waved bye bye! Had Olivier sedated by vortstun (which he continuously rp'd having been knocked out for like 2-3 minutes when you're realistically not waking up for 10-15), then dragged him out and planned to plant him in the theater and leave him there.

I placed him down and backed away after having my pictured taken by a scanner, all in the CZ, then quickly ran back to re-tie him.
He argued with me saying I did not ziptie him around his legs and wrists, effectively hog tying him, when I did. I even have a log of it.

1706075883474.png

This took 10 minutes of admins trying to argue with him and getting him to come back, then when they just TP him he is re-tied.

This is when something unimaginable happens. For some reason, the 4'10 60lbs soaking wet 'child' slipped out of his restraints. I don't know if the GM has ever used zipties, that's not how it works. Not when you have your wrists bound like that.

Cops respond on the scene as I backed away ( Timescaled for some reason??)

I ran away, hid and waited for the heat to die down.

This incident was incredibly mishandled by all CT / GM's on scene. Even in the instance of him being ziptied that way. I took measures to assure he /would not escape/. Yet you allow it. This was a natural roleplay sequence, that now will end in the inevitable, me hunting him down like a dog and flat s2k'ing him. Is that what it has to come to? Why are the staff unable to say 'no' to this type of allowance and say "Sorry, but you cannot escape. Your fate awaits you."

This is just plain unfair for me, and all CP players involved. This would have been something a lot of new characters could have used for a great story. An interesting interrogation would have happened as well as they always do with these types of scenarios.

Unfortunately, this will not be the case. It was an incredible waste of 4-5 hours of everyone's time, just for him to mingerun twice and be given some extraordinary treatment, just because the admins have a problem with telling a player their character cannot survive an encounter.

EDIT: I want this situation to be rectified with him sitting in cuffs in a cell. That is the only conclusion to this story.

Heya, kranky here. I'd just like to clarify that there was not two instances of mingerunning, and the first was a mistake i initially thought to be i was in the right when i was in the wrong. The second instance of "mingerunning" was when the scenario changed from S2RP to S2K - where he was shot down to half health and i promptly roleplayed his wounds accordingly.

The other parts i understand your frustration, and I say I'm Sorry. I don't understand why you're so eager to see me be effectively put into a PK, but I'm sorry. But even then, i am not okay with a redo of the situation.

I will be bluntly honest here, as me being the CT member that had done the /localevents (Melon had told me to deal with it as i "needed more experience on it"). I had missunderstood the "Hog tied" to just him being tied, by the hands and feet separately. Something that is still quite hard to get out of as again they are zipties.

This was just a really dumb error on my side for allowing him to escape, the s2rp was put in place because i thought either the vort that was beside Olivier or someone else would join in to either aid or do something to him or the CPs. Yet it didnt happen, i asked on GM chat promptly after the incident (Aswell as getting yelled at by more than a few people, yet thats not the point) if we should do a re-do of the situation. To what Astro said no, and i complied. As he said "It was already done."

It was a mistake on my side and i take full responsability for it, i would 100% agree to a re-do. Even though more than a few hours have passed already, Fournier has not been involved in any real serious RP with anyone except some medical RP with a slummer. If anyone should be punished from this should be me and i will repeat myself, if a re-do is needed, i will gladly GM it or pass it over for another GM to deal with.

I'm deeply sorry for this incident, the fact i missunderstood the way kranky was tied made me commit a really bad error that led to this situation, i just hope everyone understands that im new to this and i already had quite a lot of pent up stress during the situation, which led me to commit such mistake in trying to deal with it quickly. Once again, im sorry.

I am not so eager to see you put into a PK scenario. It's a Roleplay Situation that I'd not like to see overturned because an admin 'feels bad'. Sometimes you lose. Sometimes you can't escape.

Good on you for that. Not a lot of people can take criticism that is so critical. Most stick to their guns. I'm glad you're willing to right the mistake Tuki. It would be best for all parties.

All right. So, I've been looking over this situation, reading on both sides here.
Due to the roleplay involved there would be no way that Kranky's character would get out of this on his own without some creative tool use.

However, I need to know where the zipties came from @Zebra as rebels are not meant to have them. Period. They are too strong of an item.

While I am inclined to force Kranky's character to be in the cell, due to them not being able to feasibly escape, I need to know where these mystery zipties came from and if they were just rped in game or were actually a used script.

For now @Kranky do not play on Olivier until this is resolved. This will not be a redone scene regardless on how this goes.

My character has been alive for about 4-5 months. During that time I kidnapped XRAY-21 during combat and took his zipties. I have never used them except to detain said unit. These zipties and even the canvas bags have been sitting in my safe since then. I was GOING to use the bag as well but I didn't have it with me so I used a set of zipties instead. I think I have two left on my person.

All right.
So you are aware, those items are not supposed to be given to anyone who isn't a civil protection or OTA due to the mechanics involving them. They will need to be removed next time you are on the server.

Regarding this situation however: @Kranky your character is to be placed in Civil Protection Custody. There was no feasible way you could have gotten out of the binds at the time.
In spite of the fact that Zebra should not have had them, it does not change the fact that you were icly bound at the time. Breaking those binds is not something a person can do on their own unless they have some very creative roleplay using items on their person (Like using a shard of glass and rping/managing to cut the binds with them).

Part of this, as was noted, came down to GM error by the overseeing gamemaster. They are aware of what they did wrong and have learned from this situation.

This matter has now been dealt with. If anyone has any questions you can either DM me on here or on discord.
