this is of course a LONNGGG shot, I don’t imagine this being implemented until another couples months or a year.

the suggestion goes as follows

an item concealment mechanic within the /charsearch process would be pretty cool, something where the server automatically rolls both parties to see if any items are concealed or not.

given this is HEAVILY nerfed, where you can only have a item that is 1x1 or 1x2 at MAX, or have certain items able to be concealed on someone via admin panel.

like i said, I don’t see this being implemented until the far far future with heavy modifications, just wanted to speak some mind.

if you have any suggestions, reply down below with them!

@joe moter suggested: have this play into the smuggling skill.

I've had this thought before. Having one of your stats affect how well you're able to hide something on your body would be cool. I counter the inevitable "Just RP it!" argument by saying this mechanic would cut down on the risk of metagaming. You might beat a cop in a roll and successfully hide that knife in your sock, but the CivPro player still knows you have a knife. However, have a background stat-check where a low-perception player doesn't even notice it, and it opens many doors.

something where it’s like

[allow search]

[SERVER ROLLS BOTH PLAYERS AUTOMATICALLY ON PERCEPTION]
player1: 15 (searchie)
player2: 13 (searcher)

Searchie is then allowed to to right-click an item within their inventory to “hide” it, making it appear as a black item within their inventory or just completely gone, then after the search the icons re-appear.

could also have a option where it’s like

/charscearchroll (requests searchie to search with the icon they can hide items with a roll)
/charsearch (sends a request to search with the message stating they will not be able to hide any items)

/charsearch will most likely be useful when a player is unconscious, ragdolled or completely restrained where ICLY they wouldn’t be able to hide something.

/charsearchroll will be useful for daily searches by civil protection, pat downs etc.

Yeah, I think this is a good idea. I think a better want is to possibly make a /roll that is private that you need to roll when searched, if its passes the player searching you can't see the item. And if not, they will be able to see/steal it.

Maybe you like click on it in inventory and click conceal. And it's concealed for five minutes from searches.

hello everyone! a quick reminder to upvote/downvote this post :3

could make a pocket / bag like the medic bag but make it so unless its YOUR inventory they cant check it unless its literally on them but then again it doesn't defeat the whole meta gaming shtick

I was thinking a 2x1 square part in your inventory that when searched doesn't always show the item inside (if there's any)

OOO this is a nice idea ; reminds me of tarkov safe boxes
maybe have the placement under your characters model

Going to consider this as part of an OVERALL overhaul of the skill system.

Accepted, implementation is TBD.
