It would be useful for when you're too far away from someone to /me and would be useful in preventing metagame that being people who meta /me's and would also save people a small fraction of time, Would also be nice to see rebels/ota/MAA use them as a more stealthy alternative to just shouting or radioing commands. Namely an animation that points forward to signal you guessed it. One that raises a fist in-order to signal stop. And one that includes a helicopter motion over the person's head signaling re-group. Had a few experiences where this would be pretty useful. LMK what you think.

There's a command made just for this, /mev or whatever
It's not a visual command and people can see it and decipher what you're doing through walls. Plus I'd think an animation would be a tad more immersive.

The whole point of the visual /me is to stop people from seeing it through walls tho ^^

I doubt that standard models except OTA have these animations that can be used, I know OTA /should/ have them but it depends on the modelpack

Sadly thats not the case as the way /mev works is if your character isn't rendered (source usually derenders you if you're behind a wall but not always) /mev shows the action only to those who have you rendered, so if you're like behind a door that isn't coded properly (or has a visual bug) people can still see your action on the other side of the door. So for /mev it has a weird iffy way of working, i know there's a few issues where the slums portion of the map is actually ya know... Fucked visual wise so you can see people through walls even if you cant see them through the walls. (Source thinks you can see them so it renders their model) meaning you can see their /mev actions.

Custom animations both suck ass and are hard to get right. Which is why most animations you see are ripped from the game.

In addition, to the time you did /act or /anim holdfist you could very easily just do a /w hold.

It's a nice idea but there's a reason why no multiplayer game has ever had hand animations. They'd be a hastle to code, and a hastle to use.

Implemented to the dev branch, will be live once we pull in changes from the dev branch
