Industrial 24 remains the primary industrial sector of City 24, serving as the core of the city's production and luxury. The past few weeks have become a test of endurance for one's will; violence and murder litter the streets, production has all but come to a crawl, and Orwell's Administration has slowly begun to take notice.



Marlon Durand, previously designated as the sector Consul, has all but vanished from the city, leaving his seat open for the taking. Absence of any figurehead has left the sector hollow; the machines have all but slowed to a halt, waiting patiently for someone new to take centre stage.



Some may see this as an opportunity to rise to power, or maybe take what is rightfully theirs, but in true City 24 fashion, it shall return to its roots with a good old democracy....

All applicants must have a GOAL. The goal in question reassures the CCA Leads that you have ambitious plans, as opposed to just wanting the coveted throne. The CCA Leads must OOCly verify that YOU the applicant is fit to OOCly run the faction. We have no intention of interfering with the goals submitted, however, you must show me you plan to do SOMETHING.

REMINDER. Be 'cautious' in how your character displays their campaign. Remind yourselves that the Ministry of Civil Protection and the Combine are watching your candidate. Anything otherwise considered 'against' the Combine's basic interests ex. (calls for total democracy, abolition or reduction of re-educations) will likely be punished accordingly IC. Take note this is an OOC Application and nothing displayed here will be taken IC, other than the fact your character is 'running for office'.

The exact role in which they'll play will be subject to debate, but they will be next in line if the existing Consul is impeached, killed, or departs the server OOCly.

Furthermore, all applicants must be existing characters on the main server, of Tier 2 (Collaborator - Blue Armband) or higher.

Spoiler: Maria Aigner; who is she?

Maria Aigner; Honorary Citizen​

"Maybe you've heard of her, maybe you've not. Aigner's some woman who gallivants around the city wearing a burgundy sweater and always sporting that classy blue armband with a bold 'CP' logo upon it. Some may not know what it is, but I hear it's meant for those who are related to members of Civil Protection and they get special treatment. La-di-fucking-da, right? Yeah, well, she's probably just some Combine suck-up."

Foregoing fancy posters and theatrics, Aigner has built a name for herself in the party, even if the people don't all know much about her. Politicians and armband-wearing denizens of the city know her as the one responsible for saving all those shot up in the Sept. 27 incident, but the people? Well, to the lower class she's a shoddy business owner, but more importantly a doctor.​

Policies​

1. Less politicking, more industry. To secure a proper future for the industrial enterprise, unnecessary oversight and red tape should be cut down to the root. People like politicians and suit-wearers have no place dictating what goes on under the rooves of the Civil Medical Union and Civil Workers' Union. There are necessary measures that involve them, but they have their own hierarchy for a reason; the Consular Presidium is not their supreme arbiter.

2. Ivory towers? No more! A consul should not sit atop the Nexus and look at bills with a rubber stamp on hand. They should be an extension of the people, unafraid to seek them out. Their words, their guidance, their voice. Law is not all that influences the industrial enterprise. There is also expeditions, payroll, events, and more.

3. More than a well-oiled machine. Happiness is a vital aspect of industry. Morale improves efficiency, and efficiency appeases those we serve. The people should be given entertainment value, and events to participate in when work is slow, so far as it does not interrupt the society's protection.

4. Anti-Eramaism. Hate that guy. Francis Erama stands against all odds, as a backstabber and a betrayer. His people, the Metadynamists, are not to blame -- he follows no policy, just personal success. It is understandable, but a Consul should thrive to benefit the providence of their utopia, not get a bigger paycheck. Stand against backstabbing.​

Of course, any actual content and ideals will be sent to the CCA leads to appropriately discuss plans so they know my full intent. Some things are hidden, some things aren't. You're getting the declassified scoop for now.

Dr. Marina Grozovskaya - The People's Doctor

Marina Grozovskaya is a hard working Doctor within both the medical and scientific field, awarded and appraised for her hard work and loyal devotion in her respective fields - And to the cause of our benefactors. Once appraised as an Stakhanovite within City Three under the CMU. Not only her doctorate can be accredited but also her political background, having a diverse insight within the political spectrum; Being a part of various parties, such as 'The New Soviets of City Three', 'Techno-accelerationists', 'Metadynamist Forum' and the 'Neo-Republican Party'.

Doctor Grozovskaya has cherry picked the ideologies and policies that work smoothly for the goal of Ascension and the greater evolution of man upon 314, as she follows a more Socialist-Communistic approach to Accelerationism, believing individualism and the cult of money to be detrimental to the scope and success of Ascension. The core tenet believing that all can be unified by their shared goal, and that being: Ascension. To better the image of the mankind, to fix the problems of the old world - Breaking the chains from the political dinosaurs that wish to regress us back into the dark ages.

The Tenets of Consulship​

1. More power to the Civil Protection - To secure a foothold on Ascension, for our goals to be met we must allow the Civil Protection the tools to meet upon the Benefactor's orders and their goals given to us in our evolution. This means that criminals shall not be given any mercy nor shall be treated with kid-gloves as per the more liberal policies put in by the dinosaurs of the old world - Tarnishing and slowing down the train of progress and Ascension.

2. Death to individuality - Our individual tastes, our selfishness - The very need to be different, following on the path for self-satisfaction will be the death of us and our chances of Ascension. The people's 'chasing of the bank' gorging like pigs on their fine dining, not lifting a finger to do our Benefactor's will, who would rather suck up all the profit and the work of our Loyalists, Collaborators, Protectors and the Administration. The sloth, the traitorous and the gluttonous will all be punished and shamed by the wider Collaborator Collective.

3. Bolster the industry - For what it says on the tin, it is not a merely easy feat. We must bring forth an industrial plan for sustainability, to keep the people fed and in work. Without a collective industry means to trudge back into the dark ages; An age of corruption, scarcity, famine and anarchy.

4. Automated Economic Plan - For too long have the Proletariat, our Operatives have been squeezed of their pennies by the Capitalistic fat cats, disloyal to our Benefactors. Money, income; Grossly worshipped and idolized by Demons in our very Collaborative Collective. This calls for an economy ran on an artificial intelligence; An intelligence that does not sway to corruption nor greed - Giving us the cold hard facts and genuine fixes to our broken economy. This would mean the removal of independent banks for a central one - For once we've Ascended, capital tender will be nothing but a memory... Obsolete.

5. Total Unification - Once our plans have came into fruition, we shall be united as one - 314 shall not be torn apart by people, insighters and their differences. It will be a true golden age of Ascension. For we shall be...

With the nearly out of the blue announcement of public Consul elections within the Industrial Colony, the Metadynamist Forum has been forced to change its image overnight from a partner movement with the Maximalist-Ascensionists in the 'New Ascensionist Ticket', to something of a Populist Vanguard in and of themselves: reminiscent of the days of the Everyman Provision for those old enough to remember. The Political Apparatus adapts: with dozens of relays, laws, posters and billboards written, commissioned, and rubber stamped by figures within the Administration. Across the greater City 24 region, a litany of proxy-groups, unions, think-tanks, and fundraisers spark to life as the 'Ascensionist Engine' begins to churn out a new menagerie of public awareness campaigns. From the Society of Dynamic Arts & Research - a notoriously shady, quasi-private Artist and Research collective - to the Metadynamist Youth Movement: an army of legislation writers, hired citizens, and managerial staff is raised for one single purpose: putting a believer of Applied Post-Dynamic Theory at the helm of the Civil Administration.



An Avant-Garde movement at heart, the Metadynamist Forum has been forced to usher out a new, exoterically viable set of commandments and campaign goals, playing off not only public need but philosophical rhetoric. Beyond the usual broad promises of any ticket lies the 'Derivative Alignment Concord': an adapting prescription set by the Forum to put into motion their Accelerationist rhetoric which, thus, is interiorized in the Metadynamist ticket as its noetic, using deceptively simple changes to economic and social doctrine as means to get there as opposed to an end, offering vision for the future beyond the most bare of contemporary issues unlike their rivals.



The Forum puts forward High Councillor Emmanuel Josef Mundi's protégé and standing Vice Consulate-General of the Collaborator's Party Francis Augustine Erama for the position of Consul; a young, yet accomplished scientist, financial agent, and political theorist; renowned for their work in the Condemned-Zone Redemption and Civic Rights Acts, which initiated the first steps of redefining Collaboration and Industrial 24 as a whole.

Erama is offering a tried and true campaign based off of promises leaning towards the 'needs of the Everyman'. Tax cuts on sales and credit transfers, lowered rent for shops and businesses, standardized wages across the board (not to be confused with minimum wage), free, encouraged enterprise for entrepreneurs, enhanced security, further expansion of the Special Economic Zone within the previously condemned areas of the city, and the long-term fulfillment of the Derivative Alignment Concord, along with general Applied Post-Dynamic Theory.

Whilst certainly not the most conventional candidate, given their juxtaposed position within the 'New Ascensionist Ticket' and position as the currently presiding Vice Consulate-General, they certainly provide a very solid option not just for the would-be radicals of the Forum, but for people desiring a breath of fresh air from bog-standard Ascensionism and strict, Orwellian Party-lines (Not to sully their name of course). This is especially true given the Metadynamist Forum's Hyper-Modernist, constructive ideology that bridges the gap between Neo-Republican Liberalism and Reactionary 'Maximalist Ascensionism'.


This 'bridging' is writ large with the Metadynamist Forum's philosophical, intellectual takes on commonly contentious issues such as Biotic Rights or Personal Freedoms. For instance:
Due to the Biotic's nature as a ritualized, already 'transcendent' species; it's believed that members of the species may only 'Ascend' -- both into the Collaborator's Party and in general -- if they can exhibit 'individuality'. In practice. This comes out as an understanding -- yet stern -- Pro-Nullification policy, citing severance from the tribe as the only way for Biotics to 'free their desire'. This marks a considerable change in pace from its predecessors, who, have traditionally maintained a plainly reactionary distaste for the species in general rooted from humanist prejudice.

Francis and the Forum also hold convictions regarding the elevation of the 'Collaborator' as a concept as not just simply an 'opportunist', but an Avatar as the wholly new character for the Coming Man (Homo Spatium). The Forum seeks to induce dynamism and 'interfacing-systems', letting something akin to healthy competition and 'Democracy' form so long as its members are of the correct type. To the Forum; Conformity is akin to Sin, and an abrupt stop to the racing drums of chaotic progress at the altar of molar aggregates and the despotic, ever-human signifier. The Collaborator must be something of a Meritocratic Egoist, with aspirations beyond presiding over legislation as a Champagne Collaborator.

The Party must welcome Innovators over Unskilled Labor. It must be adaptable, yet firm. It must hold progress over limp-wristed 'pragmaticism'. Momentum over Stagnation. Life over life.

For, if we are to be true to our nature, we most overcome nature.
We must Immanentize the Eschaton​

MARCUS CROSS

Marcus Cross is the embodiment of the everyman; a simple man born in the Southern United States, distinguished only due to the luck of being noticed by those higher-up than him. From Citizen to Soldier, to Store Owner to Consulate-General, his journey has been nothing short of meteoric. A steady climb fueled by loyalty and love for the City he holds dear.

A man of the people in every sense, Cross has long shown that his service is to the citizenry before himself. Now, he stands ready to serve them at an even greater level; not merely as a local Chairman, but as the Consul of Industrial Twenty-Four.

WHAT IS ASCENSIONISM?

The Ascensionist Movement, founded and once led by former Chairman Wyatt Callaway, stands as the reactionary force that sky-rocketed City Twenty-Four into greatness. The movement breathed new life and efficiency into a flawed system following the fall of the Hyper-Republicans. Towards the end of the Chairman’s life, he introduced a younger, more moderate figure to the Binder. A man Callaway publicly referred to as the “Revisionist.” This man was Marcus Cross.

Now, the New Ascensionist Ticket rises in his stead. What began as a coalition between the Maximalist-Ascenionists and the Metadynamist Forum has evolved into a sub-group of the idea of Ascensionism. Though the transition came swiftly with the sudden call for elections, it was no surprise to those who had followed its course. Continuing the foundations laid by the late Chairman, the New Ascensionists pledge to forge a future built upon unity and shared purpose toward one singular goal: Ascension.

The Man

Marcus Cross is as straightforward as one might expect from a man born and raised in the south; honest, humble, and guided by a simple creed. “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” His kindness and candor have long defined his reputation among the citizens of City Twenty-Four. From his earliest days in the City, he made it his mission to lend a hand wherever he could be of use. His appearance as a Vortigaunt in the now-deleted cut of Project: Citizen earned him recognition as someone eager to contribute. Perhaps sometimes in unconventional ways, but always with sincerity. This drive, paired with his natural charisma, soon secured him a place within the Information Sanitation Department.

Yet, Marcus wasn’t content. He sought to see more of the world but still wanted to contribute. This desire led him to enlist among the Conscripts, where he quickly became a voice for his comrades, both on Broadcasts and within the political sphere. Eventually he rose to the rank of Sergeant, but he still felt there was more he could do.

Turning his focus towards politics, Cross began to make his mark. His first proposal: an
amendment to allow Parolees great access to the main city in his first meeting. He spoke not for convenience or popularity, but for principle. Marcus Cross proved himself as not just a participant in the system, but a genuine voice of the everyman.

CAMPAIGN PROMISES AND POLICY SUMMARY



The Twin Cities of Self Reliance

Combining the efforts of the Industrial District and the proper City together allows for the two to stand independently without imports from other Cities. Utilizing the Greater Twenty Four area to its fullest extent with agriculture, mining, and reconstruction. All the while Unifying the people towards the common goal of Ascension. Not for their own personal gain, but through the work they do for the City.​

Increased Surveillance
The lack of camera emplacements within this City has led to an increase in crime, yet a decrease in suspects. I hope to immediately see we get more cameras all through the City.

Easier ways to report crimes
There needs to be a civil terminal on almost every single corner, so even people without request devices can get help. I plan to enforce a five credit request device mandate so stores and the Civil Workers Union have to keep request devices easily accessible and affordable.

Political Transparency
I want there to be more person-to-person conversation about the going-ons of the City, to make the Administration more available for the citizenry more often.

Less Bureaucracy, More Action
There’s no need for there to be a document for every little thing to be done, only to log that change has been made. Make more “paperless” methods of lawmaking more viable for everyone.

Accountability of Department Heads
It seems that as Industrial Twenty Four gains more and more momentum, the heads of each department see themselves as more and more infallible. I want to make it so they have to work directly with their subordinates, rather than loathe them.

Gentrification of the ‘Slums’
The Condemned Zone, or the “Slums” as they’re colloquially called, are where a decently sized portion of the current City presides. An open secret no one wants to admit. However, with this effort, we will remove the stigma that goes with living there, as it shall be completely revitalized as a working part of the City- stores and all.

The Right to a Chance. Together.

If I was never given a chance by those in power, I never would’ve gotten to where I am today. I believe everyone should have a chance to succeed. The only things that will stop you from Ascension is your own disloyal actions. Together, we will make sure that even if you falter, you will not fall.

Unity

Only through Unity will we be able to achieve Ascension. Only through Ascension will we achieve Greatness. Only by working Together can it be done. It can’t be done alone- by me or anyone else.
