Augustus Ebonfeather the Sixth
Father, though it has been many a moon since I have last seen you I do hope you are well. My travels have brought me far from the simple life at the Ebonfeather roost. Though I was never able to tell you at the time before my hasty departure I do respect what you and mother have done for the family. It is my belief, however, that you are rather stuck in your ways. I understand the need to carry on tradition but certainly even you can see the tides of change all around us with the hominids. May we meet again before your departure from this world.

Ricardo Mantiago
Sweet, gentle Ricardo. Yours is the most generous of souls that I came across during my travels. You aided to nursing me back to health after my unfortunate crash into that odd invisible barrier nearby to your domicile. I am saddened that I was unable to repay your generosity in kind before your unfortunate, and untimely, passing into the afterlife. However, I have taken what lessons you had provided, even if they were said in one of your hominid tongues, and have been pursuing what I believe to be their leads.

Zoey Grodno
Miss Grodno you are a rather peculiar individual. As I came down to inspect you hominids you seemed to be attempting to get in my good graces. Though I did not appreciate the trickery regarding sliding an apple into that foul smelling pit with the decayed, necrotized individuals, the repayment of an apple afterwards put you closer into my favor. You were not bumbling or oafish as many of your hominid kin were. No you were patient and cordial, showing the proper respect owed to one of my status. For that reason I allowed you the honor of brush my head feathers. Our second encounter was also quite a pleasant one. You had improved the delicacies which you brought for me. I must say, I did enjoy the peculiar puzzle shell that contained them. The crackling water was also rather enjoyable, how it tickled along my beak. Superb. You offered me a perch on your hand, something that I took appreciatively. I also must admit the square shaped food was rather peculiar, but nice none the less. Though we have parted ways I do hope to run into you. I feel as though I may have a lot that I can learn from you, even if I can't understand any of your hominid noises.

Corvellius Augustus Ebonfeather the First was the first to hatch of the latest generation of Ebonfeathers. Their noble bloodline dates back millenia when they pecked at the bodies of strung up, imposter royals and peasantry alike in the lands of Europe. Known for their wit, cunning and imperious nature, the Ebonfeathers quickly grew to dominate a section of land nearby to the town of Berlin. It was within this city that their prestige, cunning and influence grew as they intermingled with other notable noble corvid families.
At a young age Corvellius was taught how to deal with his families greatest challenge, the ever growing dominion of the hominids. His father, along with some of the greatest of corvid scholars, taught Corvellius honor, prestige and grace. Unlike his siblings, Corvellius had a knack for problem solving and out-of-the-box thinking, something that got him in trouble more often than not.
As his 12th moon came Corvellius was summoned to meet with his father. After a tense conversation his father sent the young Corvid away, advising him that should he wish to take the mantle as heir to the Ebonfeather roost he must go and gain more knowledge of the world. With nary a further exchange, Corvellius left, heading south west into previously uncharted territories. His travels brought him through the countryside, to different cities of varying prestige and wealth. Each had something for him to learn, and he was thankful for the experience.
During one of the later legs of his journey that brought him by the city of Geneva, Corvellius was knocked off course by another group of large, grey floating avians. Though perhaps that wouldn't be the best descriptor of them. Attempting to right himself, Corvellius crash landed into some sort of invisible barrier. He'd heard of these before, described as sorcery of some sort by the eldest of scholars. The impact left him dazed, confused and injured. A hominid, seeing what happened took Corvellius in and tended to his injury, nursing the young noble back to health.
Once he was able to fly again, young Corvellius did reward the man by bringing him a few shiny trinkets. He had seen the hominids bartering with them in the past so he suspected that it was some sort of trade good that they valued. This hominid seemed to be thankful for the gift, though Corvellius never saw him amongst the living again. During his next return he found this hominid.. no this man. Deceased. It took time to process the loss, and the heir still isn't sure if he has gotten his head around it. It was the first time that one who had earned his trust had passed on. Though, he surmised, it was the fate of them all in the end, at least if the scholars were to be believed.
Corvellius had decided, at that point, to stay within the city. The hominids here were interesting and food was more plentiful than other locations. Greenery grew in so many odd shapes here; it was worth spending the time to study. The hominids also came in so many different groups, from the lowly peasant class to the somewhat intimidating, though perhaps constipated demi-humans, notable by their distinctly larger eyes and pallid white heads. The nobles of the city appeared to be well groomed and all had an interesting piece of cloth on their arms. Though he could not read the hominid hieroglyphs, Corvellius was determined to attempt to decipher them along with parts of the hominid language. It was his belief that if he could decipher the mysteries of these hominids, that perhaps he could catapult the noble house of Ebonfeather to even greater heights.
