OOC Reasoning for being a Councilor:
I've been a long-term willard player for years now, all the way since the start of Jan18th of 2023.
In all that time I haven't gotten the chance to be in the following factions;

CCA, MCP and OTA.

I plan to open myself to more factions, and in hopes to become a better roleplayer for event characters I may make in events, due to me being ET.

The Optimates - Councilor

What do I believe in?

Law.
Order.
Structure.

"What party is your character part of?"
Law. Order. Structure.

The Optimates stand for all of these values. They see the status quo as comfortable, and seek to uphold it. The State's job is to enforce the rule of just law among the subjects, and Optimate Councilors are known to be incredibly classist.

The inferior exists for the sake of the superior, after all.

If the Assembly ends up with a majority Optimate chamber, expect laws to be passed that favor Civil Protection, laws with a lot of paperwork demands, and laws that favor the upper class over the lower.

With that being said - the Optimates value the Assembly. They would vehemently oppose any attempts of any chairperson, one of theirs or not, to consolidate power around themselves. Men are corruptible, and only the Combine should have the absolute power to dictate things.

They are also (to some extent) believers of meritocracy. Even as they tread on the lower class, they leave multiple avenues open for them to climb to the upper echelons of society - often by treading on their brothers and sisters.

"Reason is what separates man from animals. Order is what separates Civilization from Chaos."

  • Paperwork. Forms will be provided, and they WILL be filled

Citizens of the Assembly,

You are not here to be inspired. You are here to decide whether your city continues to function—or begins to fracture.

I will not waste your time with promises of comfort, nor will I insult your intelligence with talk of sudden transformation. Stability is not born from slogans. It is maintained through discipline, consistency, and the quiet enforcement of rules that do not bend when pressure is applied.

That is what I represent.

Over the years, I have watched this city do what many cities under the protection of the Combine inevitably do when left to drift: it becomes inefficient before it becomes unstable. Systems slow. Compliance weakens. Exceptions multiply until they begin to masquerade as rights.

And when exceptions become normal, order becomes optional.

I am not interested in
optional order.

A Councilor’s responsibility is not to indulge every voice equally, it is to ensure that every voice can still exist within a functioning structure. There is a difference between fairness and functionality, and too often we confuse the two until both collapse.

Under my representation, this Assembly does not become louder. It becomes clearer.

Directives will be processed without delay. Administrative burdens will be reduced through standardization, not improvisation. Oversight will be consistent, not reactive. Collaboration with Civil Protection will be precise, not symbolic. Every sector will know exactly what is expected of it, and exactly what happens when expectations are not met.

Not because control is desirable.

Because uncertainty is expensive.

You have already seen what uncertainty produces: delays in supply cycles, inconsistencies in enforcement, and a growing belief among lower administrative tiers that rules are flexible depending on circumstance. That belief is the first step toward systemic failure.

I intend to remove that belief entirely.

Some will say this is strict. They are correct.

Some will say this is uncompromising. They are also correct.

But what they will not be able to say—what they will not be able to argue with—are the results: predictable services, stable infrastructure, and a city where authority is not debated in the middle of execution.

A Councilor is not elected to be liked.

A Councilor is elected to ensure that tomorrow functions like today—and that today continues to function at all.

If you want unpredictability, vote elsewhere.

If you want reassurance that your city will not deviate from its path under pressure, then you already understand what I represent.

Order is not a philosophy here.

It is the condition of survival.

Hello LyingFox, I've elected to deny this application based on a variety of reasons, but the majority of this stems from behaviour and RP quality I previously saw in V2.

I do not want to discourage you from getting into the scene once the server opens, but I hope you understand.

if quality of roleplay and behavior improve during d1/early main, could there be a chance of a second opinion/review in the future? or, would you rather this set in stone

I don't know how you responded to this thread while it's locked...

But I would rather see you play the server before I can make a decision. I have emphasized this elsewhere, but an IC application will have much less scrutiny, so you may be able to have an easier time IC.
