Title, unless there is something major that actually requires a sweep immediately.
Nothing has changed even with everything said in multiple threads about this. Last resort. Throwing it out there.
Discuss in the comments. I don't have anything new and constructive to say.

If somebody fucks up, there should be a sweep.
Shadow sweeps are cringe in my opinion, though. Patrols are a different matter entirely and they should be doing as many as they feel like in the slums in that regard, as long as they aren't going around burning down the homeless shelter every patrol I don't see a huge problem.

Nobody has fucked up, yet they sweep.
Some guy with a knife is BOL because they have a knife they send a 6 CP team to the slums to get them.
If somebody flees into the slums, then yeah, a sweep for them seems entirely fine to me.
If CPs sweep and nobody did anything - that's kinda shit imo.

Are they really that important that they'd risk going to the worst part of town though and ruin everyone's day and possibly themselves'?
Who's days would they ruin? If they're sweeping for one guy, they'll be looking for that one guy.

Oh no, there’s a possibility of danger if I walk around a restricted area while armed in an alien dystopia??? You mean I can’t just flaunt my guns and Soviet surplus gear willy nilly with no repercussions??? Oh my god how can I RP without my GUNS CONSTANTLY EQUIPPED…..? It’s over rebel bros.

I think if anything needs to change (which to be perfectly honest I think things are fine how they are), It should be the methods that CP's use when they sweep and what they are sweeping for, not how many times or how often they sweep.
If a team of five officers decide to sweep the slums unprovoked (Shadow), they shouldn't just move through the whole of the indigent opening every door they see with a /kick or biolock use.. It should be similar to a block inspection, where if they suspect wrong doing, BOL presence, ect.. They treat it as such and gather everyone they can see within the slums into a single place and search everyone and check their IDs. If they have reasonable cause to go further (reports of suited rebels or illegal activity) they should absolutely inspect further and start using the good ol' master key on every door in sight.
This would at the very least allow rebels the added faith of being allowed some extra time to either store their stuff to prevent being caught red handed, escape, or if they decide to be bold try to ambush the civil protection inspection team.. Rather than just suddenly have the door opened and getting caught with your pants down.
I will of course say that this is a simple idea if we're looking for options.. I personally enjoy the idea of shadow sweeps for the touch of realism.

I never said it had anything to do with being armed outside; Theres been a couple sweeps and as far as I know there was nothing going on that would account for a 6 cp highly armed tour through the most dangerous part of town, so just why?

Everyone elses who is in the slums, and if they're BOL or anticitizen, there wont be any NLR. And don't go blaming them for getting wanted. And the hiding place issue persists.

This is more a thread for here. Anyways, my response. A sweep limit just won't be possible as obviously people will take advantage of this. Especially considering the CP guide is public and that people have recently metagame it's information, it just simply won't do. For the most part you must keep in mind that Protection Teams are allowed to patrol the streets of Indigent. So not every time you see them there is a sweep but rather a patrol. I have noticed a clear lack of sweeps being recorded, will sort that out. But other than that, Indigent is just not that much of a safe area for rebels as it use to be.

Indigent is and always has been part of the City. For the Combine to disregard it and let rebels grow just didn't make any sense. Especially when they allow themselves to openly carry weapons and clad themself in heavy armor. Rebels just need to simply adapt or push the patrols back or even both.

So cope until map update and see if its any different?

Nothing going on except for the fact that every rebel lives or hides in Indigent and the CPs are literally techno-fascist secret police.

You act like the Combine has to solely be reactionary and be castrated when it does react.

Why don’t we impose a limit on rebel attacks, too? It’s not very fair when 25 rebels coordinate OOCly to get on at the same time and stomp the 3-4 online units, is it?

Don't expect them to understand. WN Rebels are kinda too much script whores and are to be fair so absolutely dogshit and just terrorist at this point

Tbf, sweep limits are nothing short of unnecessary and silly. Like any amount of sweeps can happen back to back if needed as long as their is a valid reason for such to happen. Sure, maybe not over something as minor as "Man with knife spotted" but the moment any spots a rebel in gear... yeah they are going to enter because why do 90% of rebels do so? It is something I fail to understand with some of our rebel players.

Back in the CW days, NS days and even on some existing servers with harsher punishments than we have their rebels behaving and keeping gear on the down low. They act and look like ordinary civs and blend in with the rest, some choose to stay within the slums and scout talent, some choose to be on the lookout or defensive duties in case something does come their way, but never needing to be in full gear. I even noticed that, especially on surface quests and missions, rebels will still take their gear up despite the fact every citizen and CP is going to see them in that gear when they could easily take it off, hide a mere 9mm in their jacket (Not equipped basically) and complete their task without issue... yet they don't.

Example A: I17 Power Generator got damaged. They needed to go fix it but it was on the surface in a spot they could publically access as a Civ... so what do they do? Go full gear, armed to the teeth and thus engage with Overwatch forces.

Example B: A simple package quest was once given in C24. Simple case of go up, grab it and bring it back... sounds super easy for a civ right? Nope, man goes out in fully fledged gear and gets rekt and its like "WHY DID YOU WEAR YOUR KEVLAR AND GUNS!?"

Example C: A mission to sabotage one of the C24 generators was posted... again same accident. They go up in full gear, get caught, die. It's gone past the point of meme material... because it is a permanent meme and one which shows how lacking our rebels are when it comes to any form of task or activity.

A lot of them bring their deaths on themselves via their own foolish actions. They have no one to blame but themselves and will forever keep making the same mistakes, and to me that is fine. Maybe they will learn once they die a few hundred times over.

Overall a sweep limitation is not needed since they do get called out for valid reasons as far as I am aware, and on top of that, most are caused by the actions of idiots among the Rebels who insist that scripts and full gear is king when actually... RP is and forever will be on top and that the world (Aka the server) won't be kind to them if they don't remove that attachment from themselves.

So yeah... I think that sums it up.

Rebel challenge try not to kill yourself before Combine kills you (IMPOSSIBLE)
