‘Syd’ - Dwarf Kin
- Surprisingly short, even compared to our own stature.
- Smells reminiscent of earth crop ‘onion’.
- Apparently detested by other kin, though we have yet to meet any who confirm this.
I have only held a few insightful talks, but of what we’ve conversed, the ‘Syd’ is wiser than they lead on. There is a level of discomfort we feel with them as opposed to other kin, but I find this to be an endearing trait.
'Syd' is a prime example of the amount of wisdom that comes in age, even if they do not inherently possess high intelligence!
======================================
In a time of mental fatigue and uncertainty, Whenua'Thoi has continued to be an endless source of wisdom and clarity. Although I remain a skeptic to the plausibility of our kind working among the suited humans, I shall remain ever diligent in cheering our kindred on their journey to reach this goal! |

Var Ras - Chef of ‘The Pint’
- Seems to hold true loyalist values.
- Partakes in tobacco quite frequently.
- Knows almost ten human languages!!!
I have not had frequent opportunities to speak with Var Ras due to their busy schedule, though I hold them in high regards. They have been an avid demonstrator to the lengths vorti-kind can get in the system that binds us! I aspire to speak with them more and learn their wisdom.
======================================
A sentiment of urgency was shown when Var Ras was treating my head injury. Though we know this is likely an intrinsic reaction to care for kin, it is still spawns joy!!!

Zoey Grodno - Manager of 'The Pint'
- Thinks that humanity and vorti-kind are equal on all fronts (they are not. Vorti-kind are superior).
- Very gentle human, treats both us with kindness.
- Does not get overbearing or annoying–uncommon trait for human standards.
The reputation of the Zoey Grodno precedes her. We had heard her name discussed in various conversations in the past, all painting her in a pleasant light, and it is easy to confirm that these rumors are seemingly true. Despite my little time in the city, she has shown to be a beacon of light and shelter for vorti-kind, and a wondrous debate partner.
===========================================
Seeing the Grodno in a state of sorrow saddens me. I can only hope that she does not feel inadequate for her attempts in creating a more comfortable environment for our kind. Conversing with her recently has put my mind at ease, and I hope she understands the level of depth we appreciate her intentions.
Ivan - The Leech Warrior
- Has an affinity for leeches. We originally thought he despised them due to his occupation.
An honorable hunter!
- One-legged. Curious to ask why…
- Possesses speech impediment.
We hold an odd interest in the Leech Warrior, primarily due to their unique personality. We feel their overly kind attitude, much akin to the Grodno, is a possible façade to hide the cold parasite killer within. A façade that may only shed when hunting. This one feels compelled to interact with the Ivan more frequently in the future. |
- Tall. Felt powerless against them. Was powerless.
- Threatened to murder kin for the sake of ‘quota’.
- Hope to never stand victim to this protector again.
We will not forget. The aura of this one stunk of death and brutality–a trait I have not seen in the masked ones since City One.
An unpleasant reminder to the fragility of our status.

Tar'Gura - A Foolish Sage
- Visibly aged and scarred plentifully.
- Egregiously judgmental—almost annoyingly so.
- Sour and distasteful attitude.
Though I express an almost intrinsic respect towards those far more my senior, kindred Tar'Gura may be the first sole outlier. How am I to favor the whims and words of kin who mock and disregard my intelligence simply due to my youthful status? If this was not belittling enough, they have even begun to avoid my company entirely! This one sees no wrong in the brief endeavors of human culture, at least in an experimental manner.
MY VORTAL ROOTS ARE NO WEAKER FOR PURSUING THESE HUMAN LUXURIES!
Truly speaking, I hold no ill-suited hatred towards any of my kin. Not even to the Tar'Gura. I only wish to not be treated like an utter fool... |
"Cool & Boring" - Comedic Protectors
- 'Cool' protector oozes character. Rather apathetic.
- 'Boring' protector is standard, but kind! Shows interest in my drawings!
- Both equally a pleasure to have met.
Following an exceedingly boring day of stagnation, I was fortunate enough to cross paths with two particular protectors. Throughout the encounter, I awaited for the moment for one of them to tell me off in rude fashion, but to my surprise, they amused my company! Encounters such as this only prove to sadden, however, as I know it is a rare occurrence to meet protectors of this caliber--ones who embrace more casual and talkative pastimes.
I dearly hope to cross paths with this duo again in the future.
'Kaffee' - The Lost Kindred
- An injury has resulted in this one's separation from the Vortessence.
- Mentor was a human by the name of 'Hans'.
- Seeks to regain their lost senses.
Kaffee is an intriguing side note in my growing knowledge of kindred, to say the least. I had not ever considered the possibility of injury resulting in loss of function so severe that it would separate the tethers that bind all kindred to one another... Truly a terrifying thought, and I express immense sympathy to any and all kindred to ever fall victim to such effects.
That being said, the Kaffee will not be braving their journey to regain their senses alone! They are fortunate to be in the company of many kindred eager to guide them back! |
