"Fucked up world we livin' in, mon."
The Past One of the many unfortunate kids on the streets of Jamaica, Kingston. Dauntay an orphan in the crime ridden slums had to grow up early and face the reality of the world. He first began doing petty crimes as a child, pickpockets and scamming scraping any cash that he could earn from those to sustain himself. As he grew older the streets pulled him deeper and into more serious and dangerous work, one of the big shot gangs thought of him as useful to do their dirty works without them being directly involved in it and he was paid for it. Selling 'products', mugging, robbery, burglary, stealing. He was one of the most promising youths that could be put to use and the leader of the gang kept a close eye on him, someone to corrupt to fuel his greety nature. But one day, young Dauntay was on his usual mugging when he made the mistake of messing with the wrong person. The guy was a Russian and ex-military, Dauntay was robbing him when he fought back and beat him up with only his bare-hands, his other friends left him there out cold running like roaches. But the man did not leave him there, he brought him to his home and treated his wounds, they had long discussions about his future and this man was his first ever father figure Dauntay ever experienced in his life. He was tough on him but he thought him the basics on how to defend himself and take care of himself even teaching him Russian. The Russian never told him his name, he did not want to associate with the kid or let him grow close to him, after all in an enviorment like this you need to stay tough and softness will only bring you down. Dauntay could not stay either, as leaving the gang meant it was a death sentence put out on you, so he returned with these new found teachings back to the street life that he was born in. The Storms & Invasion It was an ordinary day like any other, when the storms began to form and strange creatures began roaming the lands. The Military was caught suprised, they were on corrupt payroll instead of protecting the nation that they've signed on for, due to this they just began evacuating everyone to the main city. There was overcrowding, crime was bigger than ever and the city was on a lockdown no one in or out. Through Chaos this was the opportunity for the gang to rise higher, the leader sought money and more power, utilizing Dauntay in any way he could. Cold blood murder, selling drugs in mass and more, afterall the police was more busy fighting against these creatures rather than enforcing the law and order. This was the norm for years until the Combine invaded earth, Jamaica didnt put up much of a fight or any at all and was mostly ignored during the Seven Hour War. The country was already in a crisis from the xen infestation spreading through the island and the xenian creatures increasing their presence on the island. The state had no choice but the evacuate the island, Dauntay did not hesitate and dropped everything amidst the chaos leaving with one of the ships that was packed in mass. They landed in Cuba, where they first prominently seen the invasion forces that took over the world. They took the people off the boat and escorted all of them to Terminal Nine, those that didnt keep up were just shot dead. Those that survived the travel arrived to Terminal Nine, where they kept them there until the relocations began sending them across the world to their destinations of Combine cities that have been established. |
