Terror.
It was the first sensation that reverberated across Archi's mind that morning, the same as every other morning. It had become routine by this point. For months, he'd been haunted with the visions, by day and by night. It was the opening, and closing, to his day. Yet, despite the mounting stress of the past weeks, he'd finally found some respite. Perhaps it was the sense of finality he'd buried deep within?
Denying the specter that loomed over him, he'd rose to normalcy. A cup of expresso and a cigarette - though he still needed to quit - was the perfect start to his morning. As the sun peeked across the horizon, Archi - outstretched on his apartment's balcony - dug into the day's newspaper. The headlines confirmed what he already knew.
Today was Casca's birthday.
Today was Day Y.
