Early Life, Teen Years, and the Combine’s Invasion.

William Dubois was born into a family of pickpockets and crooks who lived on the outskirts of Paris. His family would often venture into the city to create tourist traps, using their skills to steal from unsuspecting visitors. He was taught English by his family so he could understand the people they were robbing blind. Despite his upbringing, William had always been fascinated by music, and in particular, he loved to sing and play the piano, which of course would be abused by his parents to create even more elaborate tourist traps...
As William entered his early teens, he stumbled across a music store while wandering the streets of Paris. He heard a song playing inside that he really enjoyed, but he couldn't quite make out the lyrics. He walked into the store and approached the cashier, asking "Who is that musician?" The cashier, noticing his thick French accent, spoke slowly and replied, "That's Weezer, kid. They're an American rock band."
Intrigued, William asked the cashier to show him where he could find their music. The cashier led him over to a shelf of CDs and tapes and pointed out a shiny, blue cassette labeled "Weezer". William quickly purchased the tape with the little money he had saved up and listened to it nearly every day. The music spoke to him in a way that nothing else had before, and he found solace in the catchy melodies and relatable lyrics. It was the beginning of his love affair with American rock music, and with Weezer in particular.
As he grew older, William began to realize that he did not want to follow in his family's footsteps. He wanted something more from life, something that would allow him to express his creativity and love of music. So, at the age of 16, he decided to leave his family behind and strike out on his own.
At first, life was tough for William. He had no money and no connections, but he was determined to make it on his own. He worked odd jobs to make ends meet, including a stint as a mechanic, where he learned valuable skills that would serve him well in the future.
Despite the hardships he faced, William never lost his passion for music. He continued to play the piano whenever he could, and he even managed to land a job as a barman in a high-rise bar in Paris. It was here that he truly found his calling, as he discovered a talent for mixing cocktails and entertaining customers with his piano playing.
However, William's peaceful existence was soon shattered when the Combine invaded, sparking the Seven Hours War. He was working at the high-rise bar when the invasion began, and he saw the sky turn red as explosions rocked the city. William hid in a storage room, crouching behind stacks of crates, as he heard gunshots, screams, and the sound of buildings crumbling.
For hours, he stayed hidden, not daring to move as the world he knew was torn apart. Eventually, the sound of humanity’s surrender resounded in the world, declaring the Combine’s victory, the combine quickly began rounding up humans to be taken to the established cities. William emerged from his hiding place and was promptly captured, his fear and confusion palpable as he was herded onto a transport with other survivors. He didn't know what to expect or where he was going, but he knew his life would never be the same again.

Life Within the Union

William's first year under Union rule was a nightmare that he could never forget. He witnessed the brutality of the Union and the rebellion of the citizens. Despite trying to stay neutral, he was forced to take sides when he was attacked by a gang of rebels while cleaning up trash in the city.
The rebels used a power saw to slash his face, leaving him clinging to life. Civil Protection found him and took him to a medical facility, where he underwent surgery to repair the damage. However, the scar that ran down the center of his face was a constant reminder of the attack and the horrors of City-Seven.
Soon after the injury, William went through months of physical and emotional therapy to recover from the trauma of the attack. Despite the scars that would forever line his face, he was determined to make the most of his second chance at life. His hard work and dedication paid off, as he was soon selected to be transferred to City-Twenty-Four, located in Geneva...

His final thoughts
Combine Civil Administration
Most of you live in an ivory tower, degrading the lower class and indulging in shallow luxuries. To hell with the union and every one of you who perpetuate this toxic, elitist mindset. But there was one among you who stood out from the rest, who deserved recognition and respect for being different... but was ended by the blade of a rebel..

The same pigs I thought you were. Burn in hell.

"The combine leads us to a better life!" I used to chant that mantra blindly, believing that our rulers had our best interests at heart. But I soon realized that the luxuries they offered us were nothing but superficial distractions from the harsh reality of our lives. We were like caged birds, unaware of the world beyond our little bubble.

I felt like a fool for playing their game, hoping that things would get better while the ruling class looked down on us from their ivory towers. It was all a facade, a charade to maintain their power and control. They constantly reinforced the message to spit on the underclass, keeping us divided and weak.

Yet, amidst all the corruption and greed, there was one person who stood out. Someone who was actually competent and cared about the general populace. They were out and about, talking to people, listening to their concerns, and working towards making the union a better place. If only there were more like them, the union would truly be a perfect civilization.

The collaborators party is no exception to this harsh reality. While there are a few souls who are or were within its confines, most of the collaborators do nothing but blindly follow the "Our Benefactors" propaganda. What happened when the fucking antlions ravaged our city, district by district? What the hell did "Our Benefactors" do then? They stood around, on standby, claiming they were only there to strike if things got really bad. But too many lives were taken by the antlions by the time the union finally intervened. It's easy to spout the rhetoric of unity and progress when you're sitting high and mighty in your luxury apartment and suit, but when the shit hits the fan, where are they? Nowhere to be found except cowering in the corners of the city- only fighting when they are forced to.
Anayah Wilkenson
Like the mother I never had, its unfortunate your soul was taken as soon as it was. But at least you got a chance to see the opening of the high spirits..
If only you were here to see the damage made by antlions..
The only member of administration I will always have respect for.

I want to see you at the pearly gates. The mother I never had..

You listened, you helped all of us, only to be met with the end of a blade in return. You were truely working towards a better reality for all, only to be ended because of your affiliation with the sad excuses we call leaders.
Cathleen Lockhart
“Don’t spread your culture”, eat my ass you gray haired hag. The only damn good thing you have done in this city was support my party’s supply of rave.

Perhaps you aren't as bad as I thought you were, I won't put my hopes up high however..

You've suffered trauma, now you know what it's like.. You've seen the world around you shift for better and worse. Welcome to life, maybe you'll realize your little throne can come tumbling down at any fucking moment..

If our paths crossed at my execution, I'd spit in your face and tell you to fuck off. You're trapped in your own little ivory tower, believing that nothing can touch you, and when something does hurt you, it's only temporary. It might be a healthy mindset for some, but for others, it's downright dangerous, especially for someone like you. You manipulate and exploit others without a second thought, and your actions have consequences that you refuse to acknowledge. But one day, you'll fall from your tower, and when you do, you'll have no one to catch you.
Monika Nèmethova
Every time you walk, you drag the stench of your wickedness and malevolence with you. I shudder to think what you've done to earn such a reputation, but the rumors alone are enough to make my skin crawl. If there's a special corner of hell reserved for the likes of you, then I hope it's filled with nothing but suffering and despair. Don't keep the devil waiting, for he surely must be eager to add you to his collection.

Good riddance, I hope to never see your face again..

At least my life wasn't taken by you. Fuck you, and I wish your death to be a slow and painful one.

Maybe I was a little too harsh, after all you treated everyone equally- and honestly, your frightening aura brought at least one or two events to the day. Not in a good way- still you deserve to burn in hell for what you've done.

Augustus Von Heartwick
The Vice Administrator of City-24, I have not known you very well, but from what I do know.. you are very hard
on ensuring the security of peace and loyalty within the union, so I suppose I can respect you for that. You did walk into my Gentleman's Club twice-
one time less prepared than the last -but it was still a pleasure to see you enter.

Seeing your lack of attendance within the city begins to sicken me. I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but it all looks like your just hiding in an ivory tower.
I'm hoping you were executed for your utter failure of a city- perhaps I was wrong... Hopefully I'm right..

Augustus Von Heartwick, what a grandiose name for such a pathetic excuse of a leader. You send your weak and under-equipped troops (The poor excuse you call a Militia or Bulwark) to fight against overwhelming threats, and when you're not busy cozying up to the City Administrator, you're sitting atop your throne, looking down on us like we're ants. The rewards you offer are paltry and insultingly inadequate for the sacrifices we make, risking our lives to protect this city.

If you treated us with even a modicum of respect and appreciation, instead of treating us like disposable pawns in your little game, maybe you wouldn't have such a massive rebel presence to deal with. But no, you continue to sit up there with your inflated ego and delusions of grandeur, oblivious to the suffering and struggles of those beneath you. You are a disappointment, and I can only hope that someday someone will take your place and lead this city with the respect and competence it deserves.

Your city was in chaos, its people fighting for their lives against the rebels and antlions, and all you could do was hide behind your soldiers and empty words. Your lack of leadership and presence was pathetic, and your treatment of those outside of your inner circle was nothing short of unfair. Your incompetence and arrogance were the reasons I joined the rebellion, and I will not rest in complete peace until your pathetic rulership is brought to an end.

Civil Protection
The so-called 'Protectors' of our society have failed us. They claim to keep us safe, yet the Combine still holds a firm grip on our lives. Instead of fighting for our freedom, they cling to their own power and blindly follow a cause that serves only a select few. There are a few among them who deserve respect for seeing the reality of our situation, but the majority drag them down.
Xray-07
You were the one who was tasked with amputating me, and for that, I apologize for what I've done. However, it seems that fate has had a different plan for me, and I feel compelled to answer its call.
But in the end, I’m glad it was you tasked with executing me.

Keep Ophelie out of trouble for me man.. I don't want anyone else ending up like I did...

Hope you're doing alright down there, I'm watching.

'The Engineer'
Thanks for the work, you were pretty nice. Shame it had to end this way, glad you made it up too..

'Dutch'
I knew you only a little bit, but you were a decent cop. We need more decent people in civil protection.

Citizens
Every citizen in our society deserves respect for simply living, for enduring the hardships and struggles that come with this way of life. Most of them, at least. But to the collaborators who use their power to degrade and oppress others, who gleefully serve the interests of those who would see us all enslaved, I have nothing but contempt.
However, some collaborators have found their way into utilizing their ability to assist the resistance movements. And to that I thank you.
Felix Waltman
A man who took me under his wing, and now serves as our district administrator.
I have never questioned his decisions, and he has not only invested in my business but also provided guidance in my personal life.
He is probably one of the few people I consider my best friend.

I'm sorry...
Ophelie Latourelle
You understand, you come to aid me when I need it.. And more importantly you support my cause.. I have a deep and undying admiration in you for your kindness, and your beauty..
I pray you never die..

I wish I had told you how much you meant to me, how much I loved you. Now it's too late, and I can only hold onto the memories of the times we spent together. You were my rock, my support, my everything. Without you, the world seems a little less bright. I'll always miss you, but I'll carry your memory with me for the rest of my life. Or.. at least what’s left of it in this dark abyss..

I miss the conversations we used to have.. If only I could see you in a physical form.. like a dream or something.. I suppose that's one thing that sucks about dying..
Nils Oskar
A man who I can truly call a good friend, despite our occasional differences.
We even shared an underwhelming experience trying a certain drug together.
I'm grateful for our friendship and look forward to more shared experiences in the future.
You're really annoying sometimes though.

Despite your absence, your memory lingers like a comforting presence. You were a true friend, and the void you left behind is deeply felt.
"Big Tony"
Tony, I've come to know you better and I must say, you have my utmost respect. You are a true leader who inspires loyalty and trust. I am glad to follow you and will stand by your side through thick and thin. Together, we all can make a difference in this world. We must stick together and support each other, because that's all we have left in these trying times.

Keep up the great work, Tony! And always remember to take time to enjoy life as well. We never know how much time we have left, so let's make the most of every moment while we can... I'd know a thing or two about it.. considering I'm dead..
Sally Peters
Although we may not be the closest of friends, I appreciate you for giving me the opportunity to work in the Civil Workers Union.
Your kindness and support have been instrumental in my professional growth, and I value our working relationship.

Where the hell have you been?

I hear you still live, but you have changed.
You're snake.. maybe it's best I don't see you again

I never got to see you again. A shame.
Elias Siemens
You're a pretty cool dude, you paid store tithes once and you're overall really chill.
If only you could see what I have turned into.
“Lud”
Lud, I never knew your full name, but your death still weighs heavily on my heart. Though we weren't particularly close, I respected you for your unwavering dedication to your cause. When I heard the news of your passing, I felt a deep sense of loss and regret. I wish I had taken the time to get to know you better, to understand what drove you to fight for what you believed in. Rest in peace, my friend, and know that your sacrifice was not in vain.

I hope you find my decision to become a loyalist respectable.
You were one of the few rebels that weren't full blown terrorists.

I come to you now Lud. I hope to see you.
“Dee”
A man who supported me in the slums, helped me out when I needed help.
I never knew where you disappeared off to, but with my knowledge, it's probably some place terrible.
Another one of the rebels that aren't full blown terrorists.

You're dead. I have to accept it now.. And I hope to see you on the other side..
Dmitry Mikhailov
A loyal member within my gentleman's club. I respect him for shelling out the credits for a platinum membership, and also being a patron.
Don't know him too well otherwise.

Where did you go? I come to miss seeing you enter my shop every so often.
I hear you're dead.. unfortunate..
Laura Maxwell

You're an employee of mine, I don't know you at all otherwise.

Glad to see you've returned to your place of work, hopefully my absence won't be a burden- if it ever was.

Gone? Ugh.. maybe you died to a synth or something.
Anastasia Ivanovich
You are an exceptional individual, known for your kindness and generosity. Your selfless acts of paying for numerous people's meals demonstrate the goodness of your heart. You are a true friend to those around you, always ready to lend an ear and support when needed. When the situation demands it, you can be serious and focused, showing a sense of responsibility and maturity.
Hey.. I found you.. maybe now we can work together..

Gone again, I haven't seen you in a while.. if only you could see what I've turned into

Glad to see you never witnessed my death..
Raven Scott
Raven Scott and I share a unique bond, we have both faced similar challenges in life, and she has shown me unwavering care and support. Raven puts the needs of others before her own, and that's what I admire most about her. I am fortunate to have her in my life and grateful for the connection we share.

I was told you.. somehow.. live. Just.. temporarily relocated.
Goodbye my friend.. You will be missed.. its unfortunate I suffered the same fate as you..
Hugh Mattock
The man who peeled the hazmat off of my skin, and a man who deserves respect.. thank you for warning me of the people finding my true intentions out.. Despite me not being a terrorist, I was still nearly lynched for simply affiliating.. Along with this, you are one of the few collaborators who use their power for the benefit of others. Your acts of kindness has given me hope that there are still good people in this world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Arthur Eastgate
The eastest of gates- You’re a good person, with a shitty life. Dunno what happened for your face to get burned up that badly, but you got messed up real badly by radiation. I wonder how you would feel to know what path I’m going down.
I never got a chance to repay you man.. Fucking sucks..
It was nice to know you though, as the eastest of gates...
Felix Poelking
You are probably my best friend.. I can trust you with all my being, and more importantly we are working together.. Just.. stay alive.

Missing, please come back..

Goodbye felix, in the end you were my best friend. Keep Ophelie safe man..

I miss ya.. I miss ya a lot.. hopefully you're doing alright man.. Don't let it get too far into you, you don't wanna see my ugly mug again right? Hah..
Maybe one day I can visit you.. talk to you again.. somehow.. some way.. and if I could..? I would say I'm sorry..

You probably can't even hear me from - wherever I am...
Dris Mayweather
I let you make wine in the back of my store twice, you cooked dinner for me once, and you're a pretty damn good friend.
Fuck the workers union.. to hell with what I said before. You're a rebel just like I am now.. I see why you betrayed the union.

You know what? I hope you give those fuckers hell. Do what you must Dris, and do not disappoint.
'Boonie'
I hope that you can be free'd from your shackles boonie.. that you can have your vortal self restored and no longer nulled.. but yet I have no understanding of the vortessence- or at least a very rudimentary one at that..

Keep on going, that's all I request, and all I hope you hear. Keep on going...
Uwe Schulz
I've seen you, you hate rebels as you support the union blindly. You don't see what they've taken from others, I don't know what is in you, but I hope rebellion resides in your bones.
Goodbye Uwe, perhaps in another life I could have shown you what rebellion is.
You know what.. no, I know you Uwe.. You'd never rebel... Hopefully you don't hate me, I never killed anyone as a terrorist, I never killed anyone in general.. I just looked for freedom from the combine's watchful eye.. If you don't like that.. oh well..
Kurt
I've come to appreciate your company over time. Our occasional chats have revealed your calm and composed demeanor, and I've grown fond of your perspective on things. I can't help but wonder if you belong to that intriguing tribe of vortigaunts that I've been so curious about.

See you around kurt. I did something stupid.. I hope you learn some day of the way I died.
Agatha Wolstenholme
I am certain that it was you, deep down. You were the one who played a hand in my demise, and you even kept up the act to give me false hope for just a little while longer. I must admit, you won in the end. It was a fair game, and you played it well.

However, I cannot help but feel that one day karma will catch up with you, Wolstenholme. You used to be such a kind and considerate person, but something changed when you took that job at the MOC. I do not know what Cathleen did to you, but I hope that you will find your way back to your old self again.
Darinka Sokolov
I realized that she was more than just an employee, as she had been there since the beginning, she was my friend. I feel regret for having to let her go, but I needed someone who could be available more consistently. Perhaps she could start her own business, or even meet my nephew someday.
Daniel Jelczuk
Not too sure what side he's on.. He came along and used the forge when we first met tyrant. I remember meeting him during a shift- so he's a pretty decent fella. Used to talk to him every now and again while I was alive- so I'd call us friends.

I have witnessed your immense power and it both awes and terrifies me. Yet, despite your overwhelming strength, you have shown me kindness and allowed me to use the forge and bask in your realm. Your generosity and trust have not gone unnoticed. If the opportunity ever arises, I would gladly serve you and consider you my leader. I am grateful for this chance to learn from you and be a part of something greater.

In the end, it was meeting you which caused my death. A chain of events that fate had created. It was still nice serving you.

The Transhuman Arm
An empty husk of what was once human, terrifying.. I make myself believe every night that most of you underwent this involuntarily.. and to those who did it voluntarily?
I hope you burn in hell, where you belong.
The OSF
The Union has a way of discarding their own soldiers like trash. They send us off to fight and die for their cause, promising glory and honor, and then betray us in the end. Many of them were thought to be dead, left behind in the war, only to return and find ourselves disbanded and forgotten.

It's a cruel game they play, using us as pawns to further their own agenda, and then discarding us like broken toys when we're no longer useful. The Union claims to be fighting for a greater good, but all I see is corruption and greed lead by a legion of ill-bred morons..

The OSF deserves respect for their actions. They fought for a cause larger than themselves, and were awarded nothing in return.
Civil Workers Union
I am sorry for what I've done. You work hard, and I've disrupted your lives. I feel torn. I never wanted to hurt anyone, but I felt like drastic action was needed to fix the broken world. Now, I see the pain in your eyes, and I wonder if there's another way. I promise to do everything in my power to make things right.
The Department of Business
The Department of Business leaves much to be desired in terms of efficiency and accessibility.
Their managers always seem to be occupied with tasks, making it difficult to reach them when needed.
It was only through sheer luck that I was able to navigate the bureaucracy and open my shop.
The Resistance
I feel a sense of kinship with you. You're the closest thing I have to an ally in this fight. Together, we can give those union bastards a taste of their own medicine. Let's show them that we won't stand idly by while they trample on our rights and freedoms. It's time to fight back and take a stand for what we believe in.

Give them hell guys.. just .. keep Ophelie out of it.. please to god.. don't kill her..
Dwellers of the Metro
The people who call this metro their home, they're all nice.. I hope to see them when we surface.. but I don't want to keep my hopes up high.
I only hate the half of you that are bandits, other than that? You are all mostly alright.
Vortigaunts
The Vortessence intrigues me so much.. Such powerful yet kind beings. Not often do your "Kin" as you call them show feelings of hatred, love, or whatnot.
I hope that .. I can be further immersed into your culture, and the Vortessence at that, I wish to assist you all.

I return to the void as you call it.. maybe I'll be weaved into existence again..
The Krah'Aur'Nur
The vortigaunt tribe is unlike anything I have encountered before. Their culture, their rituals, their connection to the Vortessence... it all fascinates me. I can't help but feel drawn to them, as if there's a part of me that belongs with them. I long to learn more, to immerse myself in their ways, and to perhaps one day join their tribe. But I know that such a decision cannot be made lightly. I must tread carefully and let time guide me towards the right path.

I entered, and exited on the same day. Unfortunate.

A dive into his own mind...
I made it out.. I'm thankful my knowledge of the sewers came in handy.. lets hope wherever we end up... Is better than this hellhole.. I hope the others made it out, I can't be stuck making a whole new friend circle..
Fucking stuck holed up in a damn metro, lets hope that the damn spores aren't everywhere like the sewers back in City-24. More importantly I hope we get out of this shit hole real soon so I don't go actually fucking insane.
The voices of the dead surround me, whispering their secrets and regrets. It's as if the world is closing in on me, suffocating me with their mournful cries. Each time I close my eyes, I'm transported back to those moments when death loomed so close, and I could see the cold, lifeless eyes staring back at me. It's a suffocating feeling, like I'm drowning in a sea of memories and sorrow. Despite my best efforts to shut out the voices, they persist, haunting me day and night. I can only hope that one day, I'll find a way to silence them and find some measure of peace.

Without a second thought, I picked up the guitar and began tuning it. As I strummed the strings, a wave of soothing music washed over me, and all of my worries and stresses seemed to fade away. I lost myself in the melody, letting the notes take me on a journey that I never wanted to end.

For a moment, the music became a drug that I was addicted to, lifting me up and carrying me away from my troubles. As I stopped playing, I could feel the weight of reality setting back in, but a newfound delight had taken root inside me. It was a reminder that despite all the hardships and struggles, there was still beauty to be found in the world, and music was one of the many ways to tap into it.

I have seen the tyrant in his glory, and I am thankful to be granted access to the forge.. I hope to see the ‘Rage Cage’ as it’s called open.. perhaps I can participate myself..

Après la mort

When my eyes opened, darkness consumed my vision. Without a body, I was left with only my thoughts and a conscience that felt numbingly empty. The cold enveloped me, like a thousand needles piercing through skin that I lacked. Was this to be my eternal prison, or a place of judgment, where I would be transformed into something new? Fate seemed to loom over me like a perpetual ache. As the darkness persisted, I began to feel as though time had ceased to exist. Memories of my past life flickered through my mind like a dying flame, casting a fleeting light on the moments that defined me. Regrets and missed opportunities flooded my thoughts, weighing heavy on my soul. I was left to confront the harsh truth that I could never undo my mistakes or right my wrongs. But in the midst of the darkness, a glimmer of hope emerged. A faint light flickered in the distance, beckoning me forward. With a sense of determination I didn't know I possessed, I moved towards the light, feeling it pull me closer like a magnet. As I drew nearer, I realized that this light was not a symbol of judgement or punishment, but rather a beacon of redemption and renewal. I felt my soul lift and soar towards the light, shedding my old self and being reborn anew.
In that moment, I understood that death was not an end, but rather a new beginning.

The light consumes me, and I feel my memories fading away like a distant dream slipping through my grasp-

what am I now..?
The blinding light surrounds me, engulfing me in a warmth and comfort beyond comprehension. I see the souls of the departed, those I have known in life and beyond, surrounding me with a sense of familiarity and reassurance. Tears stream down my face as I witness the magnitude of loss and suffering that has brought us all to this place. In death, I find a sense of peace that had long eluded me in life. No longer am I tormented by the horrors of the Combine, those beings that had slowly eroded our humanity and sanity with their cruel and calculated oppression. In this new realm, I am free from their grasp, free to embrace the vastness of the unknown and the infinite possibilities that lay beyond.

The end is inevitable for all of us, it's the destination we can't avoid. But what truly matters are the friends we make along the way. They're the ones who make the journey worthwhile, they're the ones who make life worth living. So let's cherish them while we can, for they are the ones who will be with us until the end.
Each day that passes, I am reminded of what I could have become, of the life that was taken away from me. As tears stream down my face, the atmosphere around me shifts from the bright light of heaven to a dark and stormy rain. I ache for my friends, and I know they ache for me, but I am left to speak to myself in this limited realm, hoping they can somehow hear my words.

But the truth is, I am alone. No one is here to save me this time, and the pain of my isolation feels all-encompassing. I cry out into the void, yearning for a glimmer of hope or a sign of comfort, but all I am met with is the unending silence of the afterlife.
Each passing day in this place of the afterlife only serves to reinforce the painful realization that I am truly alone. I am left with nothing but my memories, my regrets, and my longing for the people I lost. The visions that come to me in my sleep offer a brief respite, but they are fleeting and bittersweet. In these visions, I am reunited with my friends, but it is a cruel illusion that only serves to magnify my loneliness when I wake up.

In one vision, I thought I saw Ophelie. The memory is hazy, and I'm not sure if it was really her. But in that moment, I desperately wanted to reach out to her, to tell her how much I missed her and how much I wished she was here with me. Did she hear me? Did anyone hear me? The silence of this place is suffocating, and I can only hope that one day, I will be reunited with the people I love.
As the light around me dims, I start to feel a weight in my chest, and suddenly I have a form, a body. The world around me takes shape, and I find myself standing in front of a cozy cabin nestled in the heart of a lush forest. The sound of rustling leaves and chirping birds fills my ears, and the scent of pine and earth fills my nose. This must be my heaven, a place where I can find solace and peace.

I take a step forward and push open the door to the cabin, and I am greeted by the warm glow of a fireplace and the sound of crackling wood. I make my way to the couch and sink into its soft cushions, relishing in the feeling of comfort and safety that surrounds me. As I look around the room, I realize that this cabin is filled with all the things that bring me joy - a shelf full of books, a guitar propped up in the corner, and a cozy blanket draped over the armrest of the couch.

As I sit there, lost in thought, I realize that while this place is wonderful, it is also lonely. I yearn for companionship, someone to share this heaven with. Maybe the next thing to take shape in this place will be a friend, someone to laugh and talk with, someone to share my joys and sorrows with. Until then, I will bask in the peace and comfort of this cabin and hope for the best.

I ventured outside the cabin, its warm glow piercing through the trees, but I didn't dare to venture too far. I caught glimpses of figures moving in the distance, ones that felt familiar, but as soon as I blinked, they were gone, leaving me with an unsettling feeling of uncertainty and loneliness. My mind seems to be playing tricks on me, trying to bring me comfort but only adding to my madness. Perhaps one of those figures will come knocking on my door soon, and I'll finally have a chance to meet them face to face.

Is this heaven... or hell..?
The monotony of my days is unbearable, as I am trapped in this personal heaven that feels more like a prison. I wake up each morning to the same routine, and every time I see a familiar face, I call out to them in the hopes of making a connection. But each time, my cries go unanswered, leaving me feeling more alone than ever.

Today, however, something different happened. I saw a familiar face and called out to them once again, but this time they actually looked at me. I couldn't quite make out who it was, but for a moment I felt a glimmer of hope. Unfortunately, the person disappeared as quickly as they had appeared, leaving me to wonder if they were ever really there at all.

The uncertainty and confusion of this experience only adds to my despair, making me question the very nature of my existence in this strange afterlife. I can only hope that this encounter was not just a figment of my imagination, and that there may be some way for me to break free from this endless cycle of isolation and longing.

One day, I'll figure out how to talk to them.. And maybe I'll see my friends again... And be able to talk to them..
Each day in this afterlife feels like an endless cycle of loneliness and despair. Even in my dreams, I cry out for familiar faces, but all I receive in return is deafening silence. The memories of my life on Earth are bittersweet and often torment me with what could have been. Is this my punishment? A personal hell for my mistakes and misdeeds? The visions and dreams that haunt me are the only solace I have in this desolate place. But even that comfort is slipping away as the people I call out to now only give me a passing glance, as if I'm a stranger to them. The pain of their indifference is unbearable, surpassing any physical wound I've ever suffered. Will I be trapped here forever, forgotten and alone?
I closed my eyes, desperate for this eternal torment to end. I screamed for release, but nothing changed. Darkness enveloped me once more, and I felt as though I had been cast into the abyss, trapped in limbo. But then, I saw a glimmer of light, faint and distant. Slowly, I began to take on a new form – a ghostly presence, the remnants of my shattered soul. Now, I wander the world, invisible to others, a lost spirit doomed to wander in this purgatory we call the real world forevermore.

Final remarks
Well, I guess that's it. The end to my first willard char that I played for a long term. I really enjoyed learning using William, more importantly I enjoyed the people I met as William. In the end I think he was a really damn nice character, but with many improvements I could have made during his time.
That being for one I was inconsistant with him, one second I thought of him as loyal, the other a rebel- I was really hard pressed on what side I wanted him. So much so that eventually I found him a little not fun to play as.
Secondly; This was a learning character, I had no real special part of him to make him too memorable outside of his single scar he started with (Which evolved into a fucking horrifying full body of scars from skin grafts.) and with this it not only made him an overall boring character sometimes, but it also made him a little bland to start off. I think that in the future I'll make all my other characters a little more unique (Like a germaphobe or something)
To end William off on a non-serious mark, here's what he totally looked like when he died

See ya everyone, can't wait to make another char.
Keep submitting chars he met, I'll try to put them on.

A man who supported me in the slums, helped me out when I needed help.

The OSF
The soldiers of the disbanded unit were some of the bravest I have ever seen. They fought alongside their transhumanized brethren with unwavering courage and devotion to their cause. It's heartbreaking to think that they may have been discarded by the Union when they were no longer needed. Their sacrifice should never be forgotten.
