Deployable Communications Radio.
A staple of HL2RP throughout its history has been an immovable, physical radio that can be tuned to a specific frequency and used by anyone who presses 'E' on it—a must-have for any solid rebel territory or hideout. An excellent gathering place for like-minded individuals, spies, dissidents, and other weird and wacky people.
Taking after the design of one of your generic music-playing radios and turning it into something that can be used to communicate with handheld radios from a distance, all without needing a handheld radio yourself. Indistinguishable from a normal radio from a distance, this item can be placed and disguised to appear like a music radio, inconspicuous as ever.
This item (and why I personally want it implemented) could also very easily serve as a way to receive broadcasts from black market dealers or other quest-givers, or even players operating in or out of town, needing your assistance or starting a sale. No longer would you have to carry a radio in the hopes that someone would contact you through it, risking your character's life carrying an illegal item around like that.
You could be sitting at a bar when suddenly someone transmits a request for immediate assistance through the radio behind the counter. You can now choose to gear up and heed the mission, without having to carry contraband beforehand. This very same system can be used to provide missions and other events to people not fortunate enough to own a handheld radio in the first place.
TLDR: Functions similarly to an intercom but uses the same frequencies as handheld radios. Allows for easy communication from a distance between several parties without each player needing to carry a handheld radio. Simple as.
