VORTAL ENERGY CHANGES
Vortal Energy is a resource that can do many things. It can be used for the purposes of many different abilities that the Vortigaunt could potentially have. If you expend all of this energy then you cannot continue to attack or use any abilities which may gain EXP.

Active vortal energy recovery
  1. Kill Sentient Creatures - Killing a player gives the largest bonus possible but is only really valid in combat scenarios. (10)
  2. Kill Antlions - Killing antlions gives a small amount of Vortal Energy. However, since Antlions are very rare inside of cities this is not a very viable solution. (5)
  3. Consume Extract or Extract Mixture: Doing this will instantly switch the Vortigaunt (and other Vortigaunts nearby) to their ultimate galunga form and set all Vortessence stats to 50 along with hard-locking Vortal Energy at 100 for a specific amount of time (about a hour in IRL time). All attacks are set to do 999 damage (intentional since obtaining an extract is very rare and a extremely dangerous situation for combine authorities)
Passive vortal energy recovery
  1. Meditation - This action locks the player controls and causes Vortal Energy to increase at a decent rate. You cannot do this action if you have equipped anything (as equipping anything, especially armor or backpacks filled with items, “disrupts the flow of vortessence, immersion etc etc”. This will take 1 hour for all levels except for 50 in which you are granted a rapid version of this ability (30 minutes).
  2. Waiting - This is extremely slow and takes roughly 6 hours to go from 0-100. Not optimal at all.

Armor
Wearing armor decreases the total amount of Vortal Energy that you can use by increasing drain by a specific factor when using abilities. This effect is scaled depending on how many armor points you currently have.

1 Armor = 1% more Vortessence drain per ability use.
50 Armor = 50% more Vortessence drain per ability use
100 Armor = 100% more Vortessence drain per ability use

What about Grand Collaborators? They don't have shackles nor collar, will they be able to go through forcefields?

Edit: Nvm they get CIDs
