The People
The citizens make up the largest part of our society, coming from all walks of life with all manner of experiences.
Most are polite, minding their business. Their minds remain undirtied by the delusions provided by the underground nor are they partial for any of the awful politics that surround the lives of the average-party member.
There's a distinct sense of joy and pride if you start getting to know some of them: to see them rise through the ranks. I am not one for the reverence or the boot-licking culture that some of them seem to exhibit in the presence of us loyalists. It pains me the most to see the ones that try, yet still slip up - how the determined spark drains from their eyes, head bowed in submission. Regardless, I'd hope to guide a few citizens on the right path, no matter their aspirations.
Regardless, you are listening to me, even though that may be out of a lack of alternatives. Hello! Hi! Konnichiwa! Bonjour! What do you all think of me? Am I a face you can look up to? One that you model yourselves out of? Or have I become another out of touch party member, with my dreams of power and salary-chasing blinding me to your struggles and worries?
The Underground
The unmentionable. Scoundrels, terrorists, rogue biotics and thieves.
My colleagues despise you all. Each and every one of you would be put to death, if they had their way. Perhaps they're right- about some of you. I would never consider myself an anti-citizen, but I know that there must be some of you in need of rehabilitation - in need of a friend, someone who could steer them back onto the right path. You'd make for safer company than some of my colleagues, that's for sure. The more humans we have laying around once Our Benefactors decide the time is right to lower the suppression field, the easier repopulation is going to be. Please don't throw your lives away for a passing fad.
If that's too much to ask, at least spare my life. I wonder if I'm on one of your lists, and one day I'm going to open the door to a hitman. I do not doubt that there's been a few deserving ones. Hell, I could name one or two who's removal would benefit both our worlds. That, however, does not excuse how you've butchered some good people in your methods, and you'll run out of sympathy if you keep doing it.
The Party
The praised. Scumbags, terrorizers, repulsive backstabbers and tyrants.
When I was first ascended to the party, I was blinded by the performances of Obolensky, Orwell and Xiao. I saw hope for the future, in which we could all steer society towards the brightest possible future, driven by our societal passion alone.
Being approached by Bloke and being hand-selected to join his party (that never came) was an honor at the time, but I was truly exposed as to where many people lay in the party. It doesn't matter what the idea is. You bump shoulders with the right people, sit at dinner spitting on the people you met for lunch. I want no part in it, but expectations are high. I am not here to play politician - I merely want to voice what I think is best. I have no care for political squabbles, unless there is something truly worth fighting for.
Our Benefactors
The all-powerful. The Union and our Administrator, Breen. I've always had a funny thought about being able to sit down with him - ask him what he truly feels, what he makes of the messianic status betrothed onto him by some of the more intense collaborators. Perhaps he'd laugh at them. Perhaps he'd instruct me to do the same. It'd be an interesting conversation, never-the-less. It'd certainly boost the ratings. I might ask Breen about biotics, and the alien life that's taken up much space on our planet. Does he think it's for the best? Will we be rid of them eventually? All interesting possibilities, though no more feasible than any other pipe-dream.
I am told my Mother and Father bravely gave their lives for you. I do not know exactly what it is that motivated them to valiantly lay down their lives in service to you, but I do know that I will try and find it. It's unlikely you even know who I am, outside my number, if at all. Or perhaps you've taken a few idle glances at me. I would glance back, but I have no idea where to look.
