THE DISTRICT WATCH
STATUS: NON-OPERATIONAL
CONDITION: DISBANDED

| In midst of an increasingly volatile infestation and a total blackout in Industrial Twenty Four, there came the need for more bodies. The Civil Protection had been given too much on their plate, unable to tackle all of the newly arisen threats. Thus, the District Watch was formed by the Salvation Committee, in an effort to combat both the progenies of the infestation and the disorder its caused. The Watch will stop at nothing to achieve its goal, no matter the cost. Due to its status as a petty militia, orders given from the Salvation Committee, Civil Administration and Civil Protection are irrefutable and must be followed to a T. |
| The Watch acts on orders given from those higher up, yet are not led by them. The Overseer of the militia is Chairman Bloke, having completely control over it and the ultimate say. Below him are two Martinets, Juniper Stenhouse and Fyodor Obolensky, who are given the responsibility of keeping every aspect of the Watch stable. More commonly seen are Veteran Watchmen, Collaborators granted limited authority to give commands to regular members as well as induct two citizens per week. Finally is the average Watchman, given the duties of maintaining loyalty in the district, assisting the Civil Workers' Union during distributions of all kinds, battling the infestation's offshoots and following all directives from Veterans and up. Due to the unstable situation in Zone-A, the District Watch is accepting of all aspiring members, provided they are supporter grade (Tier One and above) and mildly capable. Loyalty is considered first and foremost, especially during a growing crisis. For ease of identification and to avoid any issues with the Civil Protection, every single Watchman is issued a piece of paper recognizing their membership, signed by either of the Martinets or a Veteran Watchman. |
| Dedicated service does not go through unseen. Watchmen are given priority during manual distribution cycles, provided they identify themselves with the aforementioned signed paper. Additionally, should one be extremely starved or in thirst, they are allowed to take one consumable item from an open store. This is seen as a luxurious privilege and consistent abuse of it will be considered extortion - as well as grounds for expulsion. Finally, the largest benefit is the earning of social credits - which will be properly distributed once Industrial Twenty-Four is connected to the rest of the world once more. The slums are viewed poorly and as a place that should be left to its own devices, no matter the infestation's progress. Members are advised not to go into the area, but are not restricted from it. Should they go for whatever reason, they must leave any and all equipment, including their identification paper, in a secure place. |
