Either don't let CPs open group locks, or have a rebel-only group lock, like a padlock.

Yeah no, there needs to be a distinct separation between group locks that CPs can open and group locks that CPs cannot open.

I don't want CPs to casually raid my base because they were able to unlock my door so they opted to break open my containers.

A rebel-only group lock would be nice, like a recipe you can craft on a normal group lock - but it becomes illegal.

Hundred percent agree, Combine Group Lock and Group Lock (that doesn't use the Combine lock model) needs to be a thing. Its way too confusing and stupid to have rebel groups using what looks and acts like Combine locks and expecting them to keep Civil Protection from effortlessly opening them.

The vort cave was locked with this, and one of the CPs who searched the vort cave said they thought it was just a BCI lock or something

Combine should entirely be able to open their own locks. But a kind of outlaw makeshift lock would be nice. But it should of course be highly illegal. Would justify raiding a place just because it has one, I'd imagine. If it's on the outside, anyway.

I was the rank leader who confused the locks because first time I ever saw purple locks was in HPR1 so from then on I assumed “oh it must be like a BCI/CCA lock” and so then on every time I saw one I assumed BCI had locked the place down for god knows what reason

Not too relevant to the suggestion and correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need a valid reason to raid a base with a group lock as a Civil Protection officer or really any faction?

Tmk, unless Civil Protection actually sees the door open, someone opens the door, or finds about it IC any other way, like through numerous reports regarding potential criminal activity, they can't open the door and raid the base, right?

The same goes for citizens & rebels regarding a base in which unless they find out about it IC which requires them to actually see it open or find out about it (not just reporting it because it is a locked door and potential rebel base OOC). Is this the case? Not too knowledgeable about group locks & group bases, but from what I am being told that it's essentially unless they see the door open or are told by the base owners or someone who witnessed the inside/door being opened, the base doesn't exist to the outside world regardless of location.

I mean isn't there a HL2 padlock model? I remember theres a couple times in HL2 you have to break them to get through a door, just use that model.

Don't make them illegal? They'd only bust open places with a reason anyway, I imagine.

Raid rules apply on this, atm there's only 1 type of group lock which both loyalists and rebels share, CPs need to interact with loyalist ones. Can introduce a rebel group lock in the future to alleviate this issue
