Steam Name: esim boost
SteamID: STEAM_0:0:190762082

Name of the Admin you were banned by: @Liam
How long is the ban for?: One week
The reason you were banned?: Deathmatching
Why do you wish to be unbanned?:
First off all, I’d like to say sorry how I was behaving. It was my first time killing someone with my own hands in the server. But that does not excuse me arguing with Liam.

I have a few characters, my main rebel who I have previously paid multiple people to kill loyalists multiple times, without issue. I have heard no complaints from anyone, and an admin said it was even a cool idea for my Contractor character to be giving items out to people and pay them for their work. I was under impression that killing loyalists when they are in the slums or with 4+CP on was fine.

Today I did it with my own hands on a character. Saw a woman in an orange armband, pointed a hand gesture at her in warning, she was still there so I came back and shot her. I died in the process.

While I lay there, the person who I killed was named Sally, and I saw she voided it. She voided her own death, so I messaged her pretty upset.

I get teleported back to the scene, and they offer me a void and refund.

I was filled with adrenaline, and I argued with them about the entire situation. I was not regarding Rule 0 the entire time, and I was generally not nice at all about it. My adrenaline was no excuse to be like that, and I’d like to apologize. The way I acted was out of the question and unacceptable. I should have just accepted the void and refund, and that would have been it.

I want to have fun during the map switch event, and I do not want to be banned for a lot of the time I can actually play it. I should have taken that into account when I started arguing, but my head was in the clouds.

I’m sorry @Liam for the way I behaved, I hope we can put it past us and just move on. I’ll learn from this.

Do you have any picture or video evidence to support your reason?:

Were there any witnesses who can help in this appeal?: (List the steam and/or character names of them or tag them)

First of, I would like to say that you did not kill my character Sally. But I can understand where the confusion came from. When you walked by and did the finger gun gesture, I was present along side one man and a woman. Both me and the woman wore orange armbands. Then, I went back inside Little Italy. (We were standing at the back door to little italy in the slum alley) Then, while I'm back inside I hear shooting, Initially I reacted ic, but then I decided to hop into observer to make sure everything was okay and maybe even have to pk somone. It's there I witness the scene of you shooting Charlotte Macaddison, and then being killed by the other man, Emille Challion. This is when, while invisible in observer, I put "full void" in looc. Reason being for the void is the same for your ban. Deathmatching.

Now let me explain why it was deathmatching. (Even you just said you were very argumentative, which is why I didn't bother to explain in detail at the time).

Your sole reason was "she had a loyalist armband". You didn't even know who the character was. Like, in this appeal alone you called them Sally and not Charlotte, which was the actual name of who you shot. For you to just walk past somone, who you have never met nor ever interacted with, who was also non threateningly just chatting with somone and then decide to come back and shoot them dead without uttering a word is deathmatching. There was no conflict nor reason for you to feel threatend by this woman, regardless of her loyalty armband. An armband in itself is not a provacation worthy of justifying a kill. Sure, you could have threatend them and interacted negativley toward the armband, which could have lead to a conflict in which a kill was justifed. But you "jumped the gun" and went straight to an extreme.

Tagging other people involved: @Rabithunter @Tarnstean (if somone knows who plays Emillie Challion please tag them too.)

I've had no trouble with admins from my hiring of people to kill loyalists in the past, so that is all I have to go on. In the end of the day, it is up to you, the admin to decide if being a loyalist is enough to kill someone. Past admins have said it was fine, but others may not like it in specific situations. I argued with you and in the heat of it, I was even wrong about who I killed.

But at the end of the day my behavior toward you was wrong and I'd like to personally apologize. You could have just not even offered a refund but you where kind enough to offer refunding some items, and still I was being rude. You should not have to put up with that. I promise this will not happen again.

As for killing loyalists, it will between you and the admins to decide if killing loyalists for being loyalists is okay. If this entire situation is voided I would be fine, but it would throw a wrench in my Contractor character I have that pays people to kill loyalists if it is suddenly not okay to kill loyalists anymore. Up to you guys to decide on that part.

If the punishment stays, I'd at least like it shortened a lot if that is okay with you. I do not think I have been banned, I may have one warning and an entire week for first punishment is a lot in my opinion. I want to put this behind us, and I can learn from this.

Hi,

After some discussion among the staff team, we've decided to ACCEPT this appeal. This is due to us not believing that you had any real ill intent behind your actions, though they were ultimately flawed. In future, I would like for you to note that an orange armband only means that someone is a Tier Two. This is not a loyalist. Being a 'loyalist' begins at Tier 4 officially, and potentially Tier 3 at a stretch. People are required to wear their armbands by law in-character. In future, I'd highly suggest you choose a better target, rather than killing someone just for being Tier Two. If they'd been a Tier Four, I would have had no qualms with your pick.
