EMP makes OTA go blind

Think about it. OTA gets their vision from a camera/visor that's fully electronic and connected to their eyes. Now what would happen if an EMP is deployed near them? Exactly, it'd blind them. This, apart from being realistic, would bring a chance for rebels to fight OTA, and OTA lose nothing, as they play characters with no development that can just be re-done if they die.

Benefits:
-OTA would need to be more careful and play with CP (So that they can provide cover in case anything happens)
-Rebels would have a chance against OTA, and they would need to be more careful
-Even if OTA die, their characters don't have development, and if anything, it'd allow rebels to develop more
-EMP would see more use (Since it costs a fucking ton to make one, it's rarely used/made)

would be cool if this wasn’t an excuse to instakill ota. the way the suggestion is painted makes it look like it’s primarily to give rebels an unfair advantage

It'd also need to just make the EMP function call the flashbang one as soon as it's used on all OTA nearby (On the same radios it'd affect any other combine stuff)

Again, this addition would only make OTA be more careful in their sweeps and work with CP, which is what they should do, given they're an event faction (Or should be). So no OTA would be killed instantly if they work with CP, or stay at a certain distance from rebels. Rebels would only get the chance to instakill them if they ambush them (Which would be realistic) in the slums, for example, or in some close zone in the sewers, and they're alone.
Again, if OTA would go in like a group of 4 and keep a distance between eachother, the only possible way a single rebel could take them all out is if they all go trough an enclosed zone and he manages to take every OTA member in range. Otherwise the other members could kill the rebel and bring their fellow OTA members (that are affected) back to the nexus to get repaired.

Think that right now, an OTA member with a shotgun (wallhammer) can kill an entire squad of rebels by themselves (I'm talking about the wallhammer incident that killed Jun and every one of his soldiers, like 7 of them fully armed and with T3, rifles, and a freed vortigaunt)

If that rebel doesn't manage to get EVERY SINGLE OTA MEMBER with the EMP charge, then he's fucking gone and he'll be unable to kill any OTA, only disable them.

You dont get to scoop out your eyes for ultra-hd cameras which let you aim perfectly and then not experience any of the downsides. The EMP has already been improved to affect combine tech due to recent storylines, which makes me wonder if it shouldn't already be doing this? The only thing I'd imagine is that it would be difficult to do in rp terms unless everyone was playing in good faith (which usually doesnt happen)

Right??? IT just makes so much sense. OTA and combine talk a lot about realism and how combine should have the largest dick, but IF WE ARE REALISTIC, OTA suits, comms, and vision should be disabled by an EMP. Even their voices btw.
This suggestion only talks about their vision.

Rebels do have a chance against OTA, it just so happens that 90% of rebels going against OTA are, unprepared, incompetent or underestimate the overwatch forces. I've yet to see a group of rebels smart enough to handle a force of OTA on their own.

Maybe because OTA right now play to win and not to lose :|
No one wants to fight OTA because there is no fucking chance they'll beat the sweaty kids that play s2k for hours and get free guns (They don't care about their characters and will rush you not giving a fuck if they die or not)
What I'm saying is that if you add this, they'll have to be more careful, as rushing will not be an option anymore.

This would be a valid point if OTA actually did aim perfectly or got any real Combat benefits from being transhuman outside of health and armor. As they don't this is a moot point as it does not apply.

+ this logic will then apply to literally any electronic making it the single most powerful tool in the game and given how awful server balance already is - throwing Combine or rebels any massive advantage out of the blue is probably a bad idea

Maybe because OTA right now play to win and not to lose :|

Rebels also play to win 95% of the time. The distaste you openly leverage towards OTA players kinda highlights this.

Point being, even looking at the server now, it's clear rebels are not in need of another huge buff.

funny thing is... rebels are equipped with rifles and some good gear. they have enough of a decent fighting chance as it is, it's not like overwatch are gonna catch them with their pants down. yesterday is a prime example of this entire suggestion, which armed rebels were found in the slums and OTA quickly swept the entire area. the rebels were smart enough not to try and fight back against an entire squad of transhuman soldiers, so they decide to book it the fuck out of there

this suggestion is literally just an excuse for a small group of rebels to fuck over a large squad of OTA. if you're a rebel player and you actually have a brain, you wouldn't wanna fight back against the transhuman army in any way unless you have a large resistance fighting with you, so this suggestion is effectively pointless in an RP standpoint. and what redhotginger said just proves my point that this whole suggestion is just to give rebels an unfair advantage in combat scenarios against OTA

I don't dislike OTA players. Don't put words in my mouth.
And well, OF COURSE REBELS PLAY TO WIN. Rebels have a development, and work very fucking hard to get what they have, unlike OTA, which should be EVENT CHARACTERS that don't play to win, since they don't lose anything if they lose.
Rebels play to win by the system that willard has, the same was as OTA shouldn't.

And what is the problem if rebels have an advantage against OTA? Again, OTA don't lose anything if they die, and OTA are strong as fuck. It's not an "unfair advantage" If anything, it levels them.

As of late rebel players have been handed wins left right and centre, PK's overturned on ridiculous claims and situations redone or voided entirely, all in favour of rebel players. In the past few days rebels have managed to make Triumph inhabitable, killed an abundance of civil protection, downloaded a virus on combine tech and bombed a store on Victory.

With that being said don't complain that OTA are play to win, we're only play to win when the narrative decides so and considering rebels have been very active in fighting the combine then I'd say it's normal to assume overwatch doesn't take their actions lightly.

As it stands, Civil Protection + OTA casualties exceed rebel casualties by a LARGE margin. In the past few weeks, we have either captured or killed only a handful of actually geared rebels. I do agree to an extent that a rebel on OTA conflict will likely shift in favor of the Combine, but I mean, that's inherently the case. OTA does not deploy for rebels, and when they do it is usually their weakest variant. From what I have seen and recently been subjected to, an organized rebel force with decent weaponry is more than capable of wiping the floor with overwatch.

And no, OTA does not just bumrush every engagement. It's not only frowned upon, but highly ineffective as the chance of the entire squad being wiped exponentially increases. Even if this does get approved, I guarantee it will not change a thing.

The only time I've fought OTA, they deployed wave 3 instantly and rushed us with a shotgun that killed 10 fully geared rebels and a vortigaunt (All by himself)

And things have changed heavily since then. We've got entirely new deployment rules since then. And don't be giving hyperboles, while he did most of the damage he did not wipe you all single-handedly. Along with the fact that it was ~4 rebels and a vortigaunt.

Well 4 fully geared rebels, and more people, some of them escaped. But I do remember him at least killing 3 rebels and a vortigaunt. (one of them being me).

Admins said that he didn't kill that many people because for some weird reason admins consider that "Killing" is only when you fully kill them, as in, while they're in the floor. But my definition on killing someone is leaving them on bleedout (for obvious reasons, as once they're in bleedout it doesn't matter who ends them, it matters who left them in said state)

This is all I can show, but again, Dej and the rest of OTA management have overhauled deployment guidelines. I assure you, what you speak of, literally cannot happen again without risking a dwl.
