Proposal: Introduce a greater variety of coupons into the game to be acquired through NPC vendors and allow all Coupons to be stackable up to 10 units each. Rename existing coupons to their Credit value, such as "Priority Coupon" becoming "30 Credit Coupon". The following should be the total coupons available:
Availability: The existing amounts (Basic, Medium, Priority) will still be available through a workshift terminal, while the greater variety will be purchasable through NPC vendors scattered around the city. "ATM's" or "Coupon Printers" (name pending) will allow the public to purchase coupons through their account balance in the amount they wish, or can afford.
Item description: "A [value] Credit Coupon."
How it works: You can stack each type of coupon up to a maximum of ten units, freeing up inventory space. Each coupon represents a credit amount and, unlike implementations of a physical currency we have seen, credit coupons here reflect real world currency by having various values that you can carry around on your person, rather than being an absolutely large stack of bottlecaps from Fallout.
Since Artwork would need to be done for all of this, I suggest just having values 1 to 15 use the basic coupon model, 20-25 use the Medium coupon and 30+ use the Priority Coupon model.
Reason for Suggestion: Making a corrupt combine economy more intricate and also lessoning dependency on the Chip economy. As the Combine has the means to regulate and create more benefits towards Credits, I feel focusing more heavily on it as the main currency could help us solve a lot of issues with chips. Right now 15, 25 and 30 is functional, but has the problem with creating a minimum physical currency transaction of 15 credits no matter what and also requires substantial inventory space to be able to carry around payment. At the moment it would take 10 priority coupons, or 20 basic coupons to exchange 300 credits. Each taking up a single slot in your limited inventory space.
The proposed changes are not a perfect solution by any means, but they're the most manageable one to shift focus away from Chips and future surges of inflation. At least until gears of industry hits, by which point it's anyone's guess show that will go for the Credit economy.
Either way, adding stackable coupons (if not the entire variety) would be in itself a huge quality of life addition.
1 Credit CPN | 2 Credit CPN| 5 Credit CPN | 10 Credit CPN | 15 Credit CPN (Basic Coupon) | 20 Credit CPN | 25 Credit CPN (Medium Coupon)| 30 Credit CPN (Priority Coupon) | 50 Credit CPN| 100 Credit CPN
