- Stealth sections and having different decisions before us was good
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
- Performance kinda sucked both for me and some other players from what I've heard, although there's not much you can do there. Also the fact that we got the 'bad ending' despite succeeding in our mission.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
- Decent length, any longer and I'd consider it too long.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
- Yes
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
- Helpful
Did you like your preferred role?
- Yes
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
- Me
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
- Events like this are pretty enjoyable in my opinion, having many different paths to take is a great choice when writing an event, rather than a railroaded one.
What do you not wish to see in the future?
- N/A
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
97.032/100
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
- Yes
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?
Getting to use the openness of the map to look for alternate paths/shooting angles.
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
Script whoring/not enough supplies. Perhaps have more small loot stashes hidden here and there to allow people to replenish supplies as they go along, or one big stash to start off so everyone gets a little something
I don't know how much of it happened this time but I would disallow hording items in general even if it's done ICly. People taking multiple grenade, stocking up on 120 ammo, and so on just interrupts the flow of the game (And IRL you'd notice pretty quickly who is scooping up all the ammo, not so easy to tell in Gmod)
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
Event was a reasonable time. I could've gone for longer, but ~3 hours is a perfect timeframe.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
Great time for me, midday on a weekend.
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
Helpful, always got around to responding eventually.
Did you like your preferred role?
Yes.
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
Timur 'Iron Kid' (I think that was the nickname) was my favorite character. 'Hu' was a helpful asset in keeping things moving, as well.
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
Once people should be getting IC and the event starts, post a summary of what happened leading up to that point and the state everyone is currently in.
I enjoyed the various things that you could look at and detailed information would appear. I'd like to see more of this text used to hint at alternative paths/routes
What do you not wish to see in the future?
People running up too far ahead or bee-lining for loot/ammo boxes.
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
My first event of this scale, and it was great fun. I feel like we couldn't have won without admins giving us plot armor, since we didn't have enough ammo or medical supplies at first.
Still, 7/10 an enjoyable afternoon
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
It was alright
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?
What did you enjoy the most about the events?:
- The sneaking around before the combat was really fun. Combat was fun too.
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
- Too many people, there were 10 of us (intended for it to be 16), and it was too overpopulated on the SRF side, at least imo. I think 6-8 is an optimal number.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
- I liked it. It didn't feel long at all, probably because it was mainly combat.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
- Around 8:30 PM CET is perfect.
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
- They were pretty helpful most of the time, but I understand not being able to respond because of request spam.
Did you like your preferred role?
- Yes
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
- slick and a few others.
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
- More like this but with an emphasis on stealth and infiltration. While S2K combat is fun, they can get boring after a while due to gmod's jankiness. It also doesn't allow for much roleplay when you're running around shooting everything that moves.
What do you not wish to see in the future?
- While combat events are fun, they're pretty generic. This event was great by providing an option of stealth that we fucked up due to our big numbers.
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
9/10
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
- Yes
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?
- Yes
Do you have any suggestions if it is a yes?
- Consider how many people will attend. It depends on the type of the event. I think that if this event was less combat-oriented and more infiltration/stealth-oriented (more roleplay over just s2k) with a smaller amount of participants like 6-8, it would've been much better and easier to organize ICly and OOCly, less of a hassle for GM's to respond to everyone's requests, etc.
What did you enjoy the most about the events?
It was tense, organized and fun for the beginning. Sneaking around was good, finding equipment was satisfying even if some fuckers hoarded it all. The cameo from City 24 was sick, and boss battle even cooler. It did drag on a little with the last arc to get EVACed. Also combine radio, even if it stopped being used or even worked on after the first act. Could've been real useful...
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
Honestly, the ending. A bunch of us got downed, we had no medical supplies, wish there was more of them.
And that none of us went out in a blaze of glory, at least I personally feel this way. It was we got hit with a shell ( or something ) because we had to get out of a building which we retreated into after we were ordered to, and few of us who were grabbing the stragglers, like we had throughout the event got fucked by a shell somewhere hitting us- or Idk, we got downed. After we got dragged in and while 8 minutes on the clock I died, Idk how. I didn't hear anything I just died. I think I did hear a shell land to the building again.. so if the tremors from the impact snapped my neck all the sudden. Its a bit meh ending.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
It was a good length, I think you stretched the map a bit too thin though with the last act.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
It was good.
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
They were busy, but when they were available. They were always helping us RP stuff.
Did you like your preferred role?
I did, I'm glad my characters backstory got used in the gameplay sense atleast.
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
Idk, There was little to no real chance of RPing with the constant need to move forward. The map was so linear so we couldn't hide away for 10 minutes to lick our wounds and do a bit of RPing to connect with the characters. Some I saw was @Kappatalist taking pictures which was a nice touch.
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
Continuing City 3's AND SRF's and maybe Commado's story to its conclusion.. whatever it may be.
What do you not wish to see in the future?
Wiping the floor with the half roster after we played the best we could, fighting for over 2 hours with little to no medical supplies.
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
7-8. I love the work you did with the thread. Just some things in game that left me a bad taste in my mouth.
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
Not sure if you are referring to the previous City-3 events or the events in this-.. event.
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?
Yes
Do you have any suggestions if it is a yes?
Not that any come to mind.
The amount of plot armor we had when we essentially all died and also the possibility of going nearly full stealth.
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
We were absolutely all stuck at 40 hp near the end, I really don't know how we were supposed to not get the bad ending if I'll be honest. Some of the people held onto their medical items instead of healing people so I can also say that it's kinda the player's fault too but it was also so scarce at the same time so can't really have a grudge against them and also, the captains and sergeants really like didn't know how to organize the troops to the point that it really just felt like we were just a bunch of random people that were put together.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
Didn't last too long and sure as hell wasn't short.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
Kinda what happens when you're EU
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
When they gave us armor plating but no armor, my brain didn't comprehend that but otherwise, they were helpful
Did you like your preferred role?
Yeah.
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
It was probably slick if I'm gonna be honest
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
The fall of all cities.
What do you not wish to see in the future?
Not having everybody die during the event because if I'm gonna be honest, every single event that has conflicts with them usually end with nearly the entire main cast if not the entirety dying unless the admins have to get in the way and attempt to keep them alive
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
6/10
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
To me personally absolutely not because... Events with conflict in them honestly usually only have a VERY VERY BAD ENDING or a VERY VERY GOOD ENDING except I found this one very neutral, the fact that there were more than 5 members alive at the end made me think it was a good one especially since we managed to escape which isn't something that usually happens but turn out "sike it was the bad ending because too many people died" and especially since we killed so many M.A.A and OTAs on our way and the synth they sent.
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?
Why the hell not.
Do you have any suggestions if it is a yes?
I wish players didn't require admin intervention to like not die, when you put NPCs that 1 shoot people and have absolutely massive range and AoE then you should give a very distinct way of beating it because even if we had the RPG although I died in the middle, I'm pretty sure that it didn't die even after receiving 5 rockets in the face and we also had to all shoot at it at the same time for like 3 minutes straight which is essentially why we all died in the first place and we required some plot armor for the event to not end stupidly.
> Players were given choices and the chance to come up with their own solutions to problems, probably a map limitation but it would've been nicer if this was expanded upon more, especially later on.
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
> Dying was quite impersonal for me, I just ended up dying to a grenade in S2K and that was it; I was expecting to die, it was after all a suicide mission, but it would've been nice to be able to RP it out some more.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
> Perfectly fine
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
> Yup
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
> Helpful
Did you like your preferred role?
> Yeah
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
> There wasn't a whole lot that wasn't fighting. Slick's attaché, Timur, and Sovov however, were the three I remember best for their RP.
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
> Some respite between action for RP, maybe some better organisation but that's on players. More passive RP, fewer players all on one objective?
What do you not wish to see in the future?
> Not sure without echoing the above ^^
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
> 6.5/10
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?
Do you have any suggestions if it is a yes?
> I died after leaving the apartment building to a grenade, I'm not sure how much went on but for myself it was pretty abrupt and definitely not satisfying. I'd definitely sign up to a future event, though.
What did you enjoy the most about the events?: I liked the fact we had to scrounge around for loot (despite some people hoarding it), gave it a bigger survival-sense. I also really liked the stealth parts.
What did you least enjoy most about the events?: The event didn't leave much time for a lot of passive roleplay.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?: The event lasted an alright amount of time, though I wish they could've slowed down continuing on just a little bit so more passive roleplay could've been had.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?: Yes.
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?: Helpful.
Did you like your preferred role?: Yes.
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?: All characters were super cool, but I personally liked the photographer guy (forgot his name, sorry.)
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?: More stealth-based hosts would be cool, especially if they're optional so it can provide more diversity to player actions.
What do you not wish to see in the future?: Don't know.
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety? 7/10 (From what I was able to experience)
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?: I haven't participated in any SS/event prior to this, but overall I think the ending was pretty decent (though strange it was labeled as the 'bad ending.')
Would you participate in other elements of specific event arcs again, based on our interpretation of the Half Life universe?: I would definitely participate in more arcs and events if given the opportunity, this was fun.
Do you have any suggestions if it is a yes?: Sorry, no.
- The freedom given for our choices. The ability to pretty much do everything we logically could, from creatively killing enemies, to scavenging dead bodies for resources and blasting open every locker for stuff. May seem as script hunting but the dire situation of our team kinda depended on literally anything we could get our hands on. Favourite part was the Mammoth train, taking an RPG and blowing up the APC was fun. We weren't stonewalled at every turn when we tried to do something, chances were always given. While Auspicius Chapter 1 attempted to do the same thing, it was marred by problems such as shitty Famas iron sights, a player playing as an Event SAS going lone wolf and decimating an entire Arteria Battalion and thus PK'ing over 15 main server chars, and some other small things that aren't so significant.
What did you least enjoy most about the events?
- Headcrab spam, ultimately, its logical given the headcrab shelling. But my Sergeant got pk'ed by a fast headcrab which is a pretty shitty way to go. Though like I said, a logical circumstance given the shelling so I can't complain.
Did you / did you not like how long the event lasted for?
- It was perfect. 3 hours was a good time.
Section Two
Was the starting time preferable for you?
- No, though thats just me because I live in Singapore, GMT+8 moment so the event started at 3.30AM for me. More of a personal problem, can't exactly change the timing just for one person.
Were the Event's Staff helpful or unhelpful?
- Helpful, generally during events I find that large amounts of help requests go unanswered for a long time or flat out forever, whether its because they are busy or just ignore it. This event however saw pretty much immediate and appropriate timings in my opinion.
Did you like your preferred role?
- Yes, while I didn't really get to exercise my role as a Sergeant that much, it was still fun to do while issuing the few desperate and/or panicked orders here and there.
Who do you believe excelled in their position in the roleplay?
- Whoever was screaming my char's name over the radio to fire the rockets at the Synth, that was fucking hilarious and great.
Section Three
What do you wish to see in the future?
- More of this stuff. This was mad fun.
What do you not wish to see in the future?
- NPC spam. Debatable though, I'm not entirely against it if its controllable or meant to sort of nudge the players in a general direction. But when its a last stand, getting shelled, and critical health, me and memesky's captain ran out of the building to escape and we got swarmed by fast crabs despite a /event saying its not a good idea to stay inside. My char was pk'ed as a result because I got chased by 3 fast crabs and Memesky had no meds.
In an honest opinion, how would you rate the event in its entirety?
- 9/10 Based
Section Four
Do you believe the ending is satisfying to you after all of the events you have participated in (even if you only participated for one or two events)?
- Yes, the ending was logical in a sense. I had little faith that the SRF would make it out entirely unscathed. A full Arteria Battalion and OTA Legion is nothing to scoff at, even with the element of surprise, that all went up in flames when the shooting started, there was only so much we could logically do.
